Here's something interesting about Kings Shield, when used, it snaps you out of confusion and instantly wakes you up if you're asleep... Fucken' Broken in X/Y
Midnight Meowstic one question does kings shield still lower your attack if aegislash is immune to the attack, for example if muck went for poison jab on a turn where aegislash used king's shield.
So I was thinking about Sketch, but it's weird since idk if it, itself is good, or just the moves you copy with it are. Like Sketch itself is completely useless in most battles, but allowing you to copy any move is super useful, so I wasn't sure what to do with it. In the end I left it off since I couldn't distinguish the move from the way Smeargle can use it.
Jrose11 I personally also think sketch should be #1 mainly because of one reason: it's the only true signatures move. Sketch can only be learned by smeargle while the other signatures moves can be on the signature Pokémon AND smeargle. wonder why dark void smeargle was so dangerous
yeah if you use splash 99999999999999999999999999999999999999 times the next time you use it splash will be permenantly replaced with magikarp's revenge which is a one hit ko move that never misses and always goes first with infinite uses and it outrules sturdy and hits 30 times in a row
Because of Smeargle's sketch attack, there are only 4 true signature moves: Sketch (Smeargle) Chatter (Chatot) Hyperspace Fury (Hoopa Unbound) Dark Void (as of gen 7) (Darkrai)
victikirby15 Well you're arguing semantics. That fact is Mew is capable of learning all moves. I never said it had legal access to all moves. But it is programmed to learn all moves so really that's it.
Just found your channel a couple hours ago and now a new video. Great content dude, just subscribed. One of my favorite signature moves is Conversion 2, not because it's good but because of the animation from Pokemon Stadium where Porygon turns into a ball, it's so goofy looking.
Kings Shield is much better. Fiery Dance is great, but Volc runs Quiver Dance, which buffs it's Sp. Atk and Def, and Speed. That plus Fire Blast runs through most of the OU tier, and Fiery Dance usually ends up in you missing a KO and getting taken out. I'd argue Kings Shield is much better
Well, Fiery Dance can be good for scoring a KO while also boosting SpAtk, or for using after Quiver Dance so you can go on the offensive while still having a chance to boost your offensive power. King's Shield is great, though it's a different Protect, rather than a better one. King's Shield won't block status moves, so you can still be Charmed, Will-O-Wisp'd, Sleep Powdered, etc..
I have a Stall sableye with Metal Burst Metal Burst does not have decreased priority, but now it does. Then I gave him that held item that prevents one-hit kills and maxed his HP and minimized his defenses. My strategy is to get hit, and take down an opponent using Metal Burst. I also have a few increased priority moves to negate the penalty when I need it, including fake out Mostly he's just a counter to sweepers though
likely countered by multi-hit moves, but i might use your idea since i have a stall sableye and no use for it, sounds like it may be good for countering dragon dancers and still be usable against specials.
One thing a lot of people forget about King's Shield is that it doesn't protect from status moves like Protect and Spiky Shield do, so it's not a straight upgrade
05:21 - *Did You Know?™* *Volteccer!!* is actually the signature move of another Game Freak creation. The half-data, half-human super hero Pulseman uses this move to ricochet off walls and surge his way through power lines in both reality and the virtual world in his self-titled game on the Sega MegaDrive! What a _charge!_
i thought the most know would be payday. since its learned by meowth at low level and a very memorable move but volt tackle is very convoluted move to get before gen 7
@@fallingasleep2089 Yeah, that's understandable. Using your Master Ball on that shiny Pidgey is a lot easier to do than grinding shinies with only regular balls. I've noticed shinies have become easier and easier to obtain over the generations, so using the regular balls is the greatest challenge.
Well imagine it is a Shiny Electrode with Selfdestruct Break out Ball, use Selfdestruct. Happend to me... and why I dient use the Masterball? Becauce that stupid thing was one of the Electrode BEFORE the masterball
I don't know if I'd say King's Shield is straight up a better version of Protect. It can drop the opponent's Atk, but it doesn't protect you from moves like Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray, Charm/Feather Dance, Thunder Wave, Hypnosis, etc.. That's the trade-off, but for Aegislash I'd say King's Shield is better.
King’s shield isn’t as great when you consider it only blocks attacking moves, meaning if your opponent’s goal is to status your aegislash, it’s a lot harder to prevent that.
I like flying Press better than High Jump Kick because Flying Press doesn't have a chance of hurting your Pokémon if it misses. Even know High Jump Kick can be a fun move to use I wouldn't want to loose half of my HP if it misses.
Great list, I didn't even know chatter was guaranteed to inflict confusion, but I kinda expected to see Meloetta's Relic Song being the only damaging move to inflict sleep (if you don't count secret power) and also used to change its form. I hope in the gen 7 list shore up will have a spot, because not only does it have a great name it also takes roost's spot as most reliable healing move.
Aegislash has a few things going for it. It has a legendary group's signature move, it can swap between two forms, and it has a better version of protect for a signature move.
Nice list! Subscribed. Also I noticed how you pitch background music to avoid copyright... it made the Lavender Tower theme for Marowak's spot sound really cool :P
Malamar's Topsy-Turvy gets no love whatsoever. It's best at destroying those pesky "Boost stats, then Baton Pass" strategies. Since it's never seen, it gives them a good surprise, and it's nice to see them disconnect.
If it weren't for the fact that entei got it in gen 6, I know sacred fire would DEFINITELY be on this list. Physical fire type move with 100 base power, 95% accuracy, & a 50% chance to burn!? Holy shit!
Oh my god! Imagine if supersonic got buffed to also include paralysis in addition to confusion. You'd ultimately get parafusion the complete package. One of the most underutilized moves in the game, getting a well-deserved buff like that! Imagine the hax spreading if the user had compound eyes or prankster.
when I was 9, I made a fakemon with its own signature moves combat pearls fighting special 110 power *40% chance to take recoil jewel dance raises the special attack by 2 and heals the next pokemon to be sent out.
Water shuriken (greninja) saved me multiple times from fire/fighting because it always goes first + Ash-Greninja + Mystic water destroys everything and it can learn substitute and extrasensory so it can faint ghost types
Volcarona has always been amazing g in battle one of my favourite pokemon and whenever I see it in team preview I have to make 100% sure that I'm able to deal with it before after or while its setting up or I auto lose
ah king's shield Aegislash one of THE ultimate mind game poke'mon out there. ONLY one flaw to it and that's Aegislash is still vulnerable to status moves like will o wisp and hypnosis unlike protect which prevents everything. fair trade off honestly as there is effective counters to this move.
Jrose11 but it was programmed to be able to learn it by breeding. i don't know why only jynx can learn it. if only 1 pokemon learns lovely kiss, then only 1 pokemon learns sweet kiss, right? since lovely kiss is a counterpart to sweet kiss.
Jack Rudd They got it from the Infernape line just like so many Pokemon gets Lucario's aura sphere or Hitmonlee's high jump kick. No noob clown here and I'm pretty sure that I am way older than you. I've been playing since 98.
Madhound Gamefreak has given out signature moves out to other mon's for years so of course you wouldn't consider flare blitz a signature more anymore. Just like brave bird to Staraptor, outrage to Dragonite,x scissor to Scisor, and extreme speed to Arcanine. At one point belonged to their respective Pokemon until they were spread out to other mon's who could benefit from it.
Despite this comment being a year old, I’d like to point out that even in Gen4, the very generation Infernape came to exist in, quite a handful of ‘mons learned Close Combat via level up, same for Flare Blitz Only reason you can make a sliver of an argument for the latter is because Diamond and Pearl had a grand total of two Fire-type families to catch, and both of them learn Flare Blitz at practically the same exact level [57 for Infernape, 58 for Rapidash in DP and then 56 for Platinum onwards] Just because you get a starter first doesn’t mean the moves they learn are “signature”

I guess Megahorn won't make it because so many other pokémon can learn it but its still so strong for a bug move and my gen II heracross was a solid 16 levels higher than the rest of my team when I accidentally beat the elite four on his back, great move, brought in for heracross 10/10 would recommend to a friend
The order moves from espiquin (idk how to spell that) make it a pain in the ass to defeat. Jusg take on the first of the Elite 4 in Platinum, Pearl, and Diamond. It took me 30 minutes to kill it!
You should have made this list gen 1 because basically all gen 1 Pokemon learn high power moves at high levels like 40+ of you don’t evolve them and if you evolve them before they learn this moves they never will
I like fiery dance better than kings shield, however I would put kings shield first because every aegislash runs kings shield, but not every volcarona run fiery dance. (In smogon fire blast is recommended over fiery dance)
I love Baneful Bunker, it poisons my opponent, then my ability Merciless makes all of my attacks crits. Combine it with Venoshock which power is increased if the foe is poisoned.
Pretty much every type has their variant of double-edge? My fav type water type doesn't have it so that offends me. Or I am pretending to be offended, the world may never know. Also this is my first comment on your channel, just subbed after watching 1 video
Almost 3 years later, and we are still waiting for parts 2 and 3...
Yep
We still waiting!
Still waiting
Everything is possible after the return of the Kakuna Rattata serie
7 years down the road and it's they're still nowhere to be seen 😂

Midnight Meowstic one question does kings shield still lower your attack if aegislash is immune to the attack, for example if muck went for poison jab on a turn where aegislash used king's shield.
I thought in Gen 6, it didn't wake you up, but did change you into Shield Form anyway.
Midnight Meowstic is that true
This is why gen 6 was so easy
@pete lee Gold question. I presume so.
Pshaw, Kinesis is obviously the best signature move.
I was going to put that in as like a fake #1, and then decided against it because it's so cliche.
Jrose11
Haha, yeah. I'm still upset about that one, the Abra family is such a powerful family, but its signature move is horrible.
I was expecting that... "Barely edged out, by one of my favorite pokemon"
Smeargles sketch should have been 1

True DarkGreninja no it's not. Chatter cannot be sketched.
I second this. A move so powerful that it gives weak Pokemon a REAL competitive presence.
Great list! Hoping that Baneful Bunker makes the next list, probably my favourite gen 7 move :D

Magikarp's revenge

And later he will likely do more then just Pokemon.
Antdohknee Well Jwittz channel is almost dead from almost no cintent
I think his channel died because he banned all comments for like 6 months.
Jacob why did he do that in the first place?
curious as well... anyone have an answer?
You forgot to mention that Jynx can also learn Dream Eater, which compliments Lovely Kiss and Jynx perfectly, making Lovely Kiss even better.
I spoke with him. He’s gonna say that on part 2 of this. Watch out for part 2. it’s just 4 more years away from getting posted😊
Imagine if Tapu Koko got Volt Tackle.
Dear Arceus.
Because of Smeargle's sketch attack, there are only 4 true signature moves:
Sketch (Smeargle)
Chatter (Chatot)
Hyperspace Fury (Hoopa Unbound)
Dark Void (as of gen 7) (Darkrai)
victikirby15 it's a MOVE, not an ability
Typhoonerium 14 What?
Because Mew can learn every move there are zero signature moves.
Sorry I thought we were sucking enjoyment out of a video by splitting hairs.
Steven Adams even though Mew can't learn every move but whatever

Great job on the video! I really do think your vids deserve more attention, they are good quality and just a real joy to watch! Keep it up!
Who else when they heard PU tier they thought of P u as In when somebody stinks?
That's literally what PU is trying to convey in the title.
Flying press would be really cool if it get double stab bonus
Am I the only who noticed he played the Pokemon tower from classic red the minute marowak was mentioned? Gen 1 reference, lovely. Nice dude.

I think king's shield should have been top, but I respect that you put in thought and weighed a difficult choice. Ok, on to part two!

What about Fire lash? Its a 80 dmg move with 100% chance to lower defence. And Heatmor gets STAB with it and Heatmor looks cool.
