- It would be nice if helicopters in the game would "land" better when you shot out the pilot considering they fall so slowly like they have the incorrect mass values they shouldn't blow up that easily when touching the ground. Although please keep in mind I'm not suggesting they go back to previous Battlefield games where you could bounce off everything on the ground including any tree or other object at any speeds. The jets in this game still appear to have that privilege and it's silly to watch them bounce off buildings and trees.
Regarding the delay of Season 1 for Battlefield 2042. There is only so much you can speculate about. It's interesting though depending on how you look at it. If they or management at DICE were fine with the status quo wouldn't they continue with the March release date ( assuming that wasn't a rumor and was officially announced at some point previously )? Delaying and talking about specific issues to address in the game seems like a different response than usual. Although I can see the other side of it as well as part of me thinks it's similar to the delay of the launch/release. The state it was in was bad and they didn't really have the appropriate developer resources and time to get it into a "reasonable" state prior to the holiday season. This could just be a continuation of that where they have the limited resources or not enough to complete everything within the given timeframe. I bring this up because if Ripple Effect ( DICE LA ) was working on the Portal and DICE Sweden was working on the main game what was Criterion Games working on? Hazard Zone? Like how they did Firestorm in BFV? If so does that mean they would pass it off to DICE Sweden after the game is launched putting more on their list of things to work on? I don't know it's just speculation but it's interesting they'd delay it when it didn't seem like there was going to be that much content in the original Season 1 for the game.

A good way to describe the gameplay for me on Xbox series x ( played both editions of game) is that some movements, mechanics, and gun plays feel like I’m trying to guess every time if the input will work successfully (not lag, skip, stuck feet, RBD, aim drift)
This actually pretty accurate, one of my favorite casual guns is that first LMG and it feels like half my bullets don’t even connect
Pretty spot on, entering/ exiting vehicles is a nightmare for me, I fall under the map or get launched behind the vehicle. Fake reloads and ammo boxes don't refill my bullets happens a lot too.
@@lylemcdermott2566 Jeeze, can they not fix that crap? I know other battlefields had problems at launch but this is pretty bad. I play the free weekend a couple months ago and noped right back to BF4

I really like that you still do match cuts, could just do the extremely common fade or hard cut for the whole video. That little detail helps elevate it above most frag compilations.

There's a huuuuuuge latency issue on visuals. That's why it's so unsatisfying to hit stuff with snipers rn, compared to BF3 for instance.
Can you be more specific on the issue you are describing?
@@Ravic not sure how to describe it, but it's as if there's some latency compensation in the way of predictors, so it thinks people will go straight but they go left so the hitboxes are in the wrong place. Only for a tiny fraction of a second, but it's enough. That's how it feels, not sure if that's the actual issue
@@cIappo896 Oh so issues with actual player's ping ( latency ) and issues like de-sync. Yeah there is a lot of that. Lower tick-rates, other changes to the engine, probably other factors at play as well. However it is something that has been present ( to a certain degree ) in pretty much all the Battlefield games on the Frostbite engine since BF3.

When needing anti-helio support, don't get an aa vehicle, rocket, another helio, or jet. Just get a ravic aa support.
The aerial vehicle explosions in this game look like someone blowing up a huge tub of red Gatorade powder with a grenade.
Bf4 on my PS3 looks and handles better than this game, which says a lot about how terrible it really is.

Hey Ravic, different question here: Do you edit your own videos? and if so, what method do you use to notate/timestamp content for various videos? Like this shooting out pilots, or WTF, hackusations, etc. My previous methods have just resulted in headaches. Keep up the great videos! Always glad to see your new upload.
I use the pre-record buffer or "ShadowTime" ( I believe that is what Nvidia originally referred to it as ) within ShadowPlay to save out the last five minutes. So I generally just end up saving a relevant moment or clip to use in some video with each file. Then later when the drive starts to get more full I copy it over to the workstation PC and sort it all into the different themed videos with their own folders. It's to save on file space and to save time in organizing because it would take considerably more time to sort or organize footage if I was recording entire rounds at a time or entire sessions at a time. The only major downsides ( besides quality limitations of H.264 in ShadowPlay ) is that it's inter-frame encoding and ShadowPlay tends to drop frames or doesn't maintain perfect 60 fps recording. At the moment there isn't any great alternatives or perfect solutions to those issues unless you are okay with recording entire rounds.
@@Ravic Wow, thanks for the detailed reply. That makes more sense as I was going the arduous route of recording entire sessions and assumed you may have been also. Managing clips over categorizing timestamps sounds like a welcome change. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

So, what do you guys think is the worst flowing map? I play break through like 90% of the time and personally I think the cargo map and attacking on kaleidoscope are the worst, I love the game tho
Since -Ravic is not going to answer- I am an impatient miscreant, I would suggest that Manifest is the worst breakthrough map. I actually like attacking on Kaleidoscope and I wish they could have found a better way to balance the end part where the capture points were on the skyscrapers.

Shooting out pilots was never as easy as in this Battlefield
You have that backwards, it was way easier in previous Battlefield games.

@@waynereloaded87 Nope, BF3 and BF4 it's way easier to window or shoot out the pilot with most guns. In BF2042 the windows have damage reduction to all bullets except Armor Piercing and it's an ammo type that has low damage so you're not really reducing the amount of required shots by much. Add to that the absurd maneuverability to the BF2042 helicopters and aircraft and it's just silly in comparison, they can go from 0-60 in no time at all and practically hover while looking straight down. Add to that they screen shake from all the explosive rounds, rockets, debris, etc. and it's a mess trying to even see your target. I have a lot of these types of videos uploaded for BF4 so you can see what I mean by easier and how the choppers are way more limited in what they can do. Oh and of course the hitbox desync and sometimes invulnerable states players can get when in vehicles, yeah it's way easier in any of the other Battlefield games outside of BF2042.
@@Ravic Makes sense, but technically still BF1 and especially BF5 are the games where its the hardest to shoot pilots. Since there are no helicopters :b

Sure, I've found a few things I enjoy doing in the game just like I had to do in previous Battlefield games that I didn't really like but they were the most recent Battlefield title released so it's either learn to adapt or stop playing games in this franchise. Do you think I enjoyed all aspects of BF3 or BF4? I know I was more vocal on my dislike for BF1 but I still found ways to play or things to do in that game that I could find enjoyment out of. At the end of the day Battlefield games tend to be unique experiences vs other FPS games when you actually play the game modes that include vehicle vs infantry combat.
@@Ravic we've gotten accustomed to bugs with a bf title, but this game is unbelievable, when I just see all of the meme vids of infantry spawning out of zone, or jets ramming into them at the start of the round the only thing that comes to my mind is how careless and unmotivated were dice staff when they were working on this game.
Like for example in bf4 if somebody dies on top of the stairs and their body lands on the bottom, I know I can go and revive them on where they initially died at.. broken yes but there is a workaround, with 2042 you're put in a position where it's truly frustrating, from the latency, poor performance, abysmal hit reg to being unable to revive teammates because there is a rock on their foot.
You adapted Ravic, I am just too old to handle frustrating mechanics so yes unfortunately seems the end of an era for a lot of gamers like me when it comes to battlefield. Miss the old days of bf Vietnam, desert combat mod & bf2 💔.
@@ioi1989 You must have skipped BF1 and BFV because both had the issue of bombers being able to drop bombs on the enemy player main spawns and DICE addressed it once in BFV but then undid that fix and let them do it again.
@@Ravic You are correct I've played bf1 very briefly compared to other titles (maybe not longer than 30-40 hours) and passed on bfv after trying the beta. I don't remember that bombing exploit happening in bf1 but I'll take your word for it. It just boggles me how so many major issues fly under the radar now and never get fixed. You mentioned that this was an issue in bfv which was fixed and later reintroduced.. why is that? Was it an unintentional mistake from an update they released or did they revert it to please the vehicle players? I am hoping it's the former.
@@ioi1989 It was never officially confirmed why that happened in BFV and while it could have been an accident the fact that they didn't re-fix it makes it seem like plane players cried about it because they couldn't get their easy kills. It wasn't an exploit or anything it was just like BF1 where planes spawned in before everything else. And yes in BF1 you would often see planes immediately go for the main spawn to bomb people just coming out. I think in a few of my BF1 videos you can see it happen, probably in a Random + WTF video.

The damage reduction is still here and you could always one hit pilot with headshot
They haven't made changes to the damage reduction given to glass or windows on vehicles. Bolt-actions just have a high enough minimum damage that the headshot multiplier will still do more than 100% damage.

It's become difficult to predict what will happen now with the recent changes in studios and who is in charge of Battlefield. However I can say it has way more potential than BFV so if DICE/Ripple Effect/Criterion/whoever keep supporting and expanding it then it could become something better, it has a lot of room for growth even with minor changes.

Usually deserved but some of it is unnecessary and people are just using the games performance as a way to criticize things that don't matter.
Probably too much and not all deserved however there are a lot of factors at play. We were or are in what feels like a gaming drought. A lot of "Battlefield" players skipped out on BF1 and BFV because it wasn't a future or modern era game so when they come back and see so many changes some of which came from BF1 and BFV they freak out or complain. People haven't really had a reason to upgrade their hardware for quite a few years ( or have even been able to because of silicon shortages ) so when a game finally comes around that pushes hardware harder than most the reaction is either "oh yeah it has been a while since I've built this PC" or "WTF the last game ran fine I shouldn't have this bad of performance, mom refund the game for me". Every Battlefield game on the Frostbite engine has been changed or is different in a lot of ways vs the game before it ( BF3 was quite different from BC2, BF4 from BF3, etc. ). It's not like COD where a lot of things tend to stay the same and some people have grown accustomed to that and expect it to be like that in other franchises including Battlefield when in reality it never really has been like that. The game being released on more than just Origin is also a big factor in the "feedback". If BF4 had been launched on the same places BF2042 was released it would have beat BF2042 in negative feedback from the launch of the game. Do I hate the Specialists and what implementing them in the game has done to the game overall? Sure I do but I also hated the class balance in BF1 because it gave one class all the best weapons and gadgets because suppression exists in the game, I still played the game. With Frostbite Battlefield games DICE has never been trying to make the Battlefield game we want to play, they've been trying to make something they think would be cool to play and after release concessions are made when enough feedback has been provided. I've only mentioned a few aspects of the Battlefield games above, there are plenty more and when things are taken in without any kind of realistic perspective the view is always going to negative. At the end of the day if a player can't find something they enjoy in a game or something they find satisfying in it then it automatically becomes "dead game" in their eyes.
