- Earlier in the week I did unlock the GOL quickly to compare the ADS times, I didn't have my headphones on at the time but I've seen mention in quite a few places that the headshot kill sound effect and kill successful sound effect is very different from before this week's update to Battlefield 2042. For those that play the game is the sound effect change bad? Too high pitched or okay on your end?
As for the rest I've been feeling sick for most of the week so I haven't touched anything outside of the GOL stuff I mentioned. Yes I know this footage is old, all of my footage is old, sorry. I've never had the time to record a thing one night and upload it the next day unless it was a specifically short topic or something I didn't have to spend a lot of time organizing and editing.
Side note, it seems like unless you have really lucky timing it doesn't matter even if there is a Rao player helping the "air tanks" aka Condor and Hind can survive most encounters. I found that at least shooting out the pilot gives us a higher chance of success but as you can see in the video that isn't always the case. It's a good thing they finally made changes to balance the air tanks in BF2042 with the most recent update right?.....RIGHT????

They added new sounds for killing a vehicle. Sounds like a slot machine when you kill a full transport

oi Rav is the 45 70 lever the best rifle or are you just using it because its cool, I think its cool btw.
its got a faster rate of fire than any of the actual sniper rifles, and is still a one hit headshot at any range or two hit body shot like the actual snipers. imo once you learn the bullet drop it is better than any of the snipers because of that.

I jumped back in recently and the servers are always packed. The game is a lot of fun now. Better then it was earlier this year when I played last.

Ravic. Honest question. Why haven’t you gone back to older Battlefields? Especially with the lackluster of 2042. I’ve redownloaded BF1 and it’s a Breath of fresh air and really is the last true great battlefield IMO

It's funny how bf1 was considered the worst bf but now it's considered great for some reason
BF1 was easily the worse Battlefield we seen so far in the franchise. It took out so much and put in so many bad mechanics and changes to Battlefield we still haven't seen the game recover after two more releases since BF1's introduction. That is how far down it brought us, we are still climbing our way back up. With going back I understand YTubers or content creators doing it to nostalgia-wank viewers because it's easy views and can be done on a cycle every year but this isn't my job. It's still a hobby so I'm not required to do that kind of stuff. Also going back to play old unsupported games isn't a good habit because with most franchises especially Battlefield the next release is usually going to be built upon or based on the most recently released title, not some older title. It's why BF3 wasn't really a sequel to BF2 but instead taking what they did in BC2 and expanding. So going back to older titles while yes is a bit "living in the past" it's also a way to handicap yourself and preventing you from adapting to newer games and new changes in game development ( good or bad ). I played BF1 and found what little fun I could inside of it but the second I was given a new alternative I moved on. Does BF2042 have issues? Sure but so does every Battlefield game. It's perfectly fine to go back and play BF1 but please don't act like the BF3 and BF4 players that never moved on or touched BF1 or BFV and were completely shocked and whining how so many things changed going from BF3/BF4 to BF2042 because they missed all the changes with the games in between.
@@Ravic yeah, I have to agree. Ohk body snipers, auto repair on vehicles, behemoths, lmgs having reverse spread, smgs being better lmgs than the lmgs. Its a long list of problems.
@@Leach-ez7dq also changed vehicle spawn mechanics to be player controlled rather than static map spawns, which scrambled vehicle vs vehicle vs infantry balance ever since. Ohk to body snipers was already in since earlier battlefields but it was only within a very limited distance away. LMGs getting more accurate the longer you fire is from Battlefield 2142 (it honestly wasn't a bad mechanic, but they started out super inaccurate then became accurate)
I miss the critical hp threshold on vehicles (when a vehicle starts bleeding to death), cuz it made engineers especially important, or at least force the need for the driver/pilot to be an engineer themselves.
How do you find people to play with in this game all I can find are empty lobbies and bots

Shoot the pilot and then nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

As I don't play the game, I don't really understand why people are complaining about the choppers. Then I watch vids like these and think, Jesus, these choppers behave more like remote control toys than hunks of airborne military hardware.
A skilled chopper pilot and gunner combo can absolutely steam roll if they are left unchallenged. The recent balance updates have nerfed the vehicles by changing how quickly they regenerate ammo, how fast the weapons overheat, as well as some of the bullet damage, and now they also only take 1 guided rocket to destroy. Previously, you needed 2 hits (meaning the chopper would have time to escape before you can get your second shot in)
In season 2 you can easily counter them by having your team equip some AA missiles, using Lis operator (who has infinite guided missiles) or spawning in a anti-air armour (which by the way, is still very decent against infantry but useless against other armor). And of course if you're a crack shot with a sniper rifle you can just shoot the pilot, but that's only possible at certain elevations and shallow angles. Too sharp of an angle and you cannot hit the hitbox for the pilot or passenger.

@@anthonyplatero1147 Stealth helis have very little health now, it only takes one rocket to kill them. The Transport helicopters are still very tanky and will take several hits, but they also have been nerfed recently and the mounted miniguns now overheat more quickly and deal less damage at longer ranges, so they're now less of a threat to ground infantry. These changes seek to solidify their purpose as a troop carrier and mobile spawn point, as opposed to a flying tank that can snipe soldiers from like 500m in the sky.
I don't think a troop carrier vehicle should have weak armor since that that would diminish their role and making them killable in a single shot just makes them gigantic flying coffins.
The M5 is intended to be difficult to use against air -- after all that's why the FMX-33 launcher exists. Note the M5 can also lock onto air vehicles designated with a SOFLAM, so a squad with good communication can easily counter both air and ground vehicles.
@@yetson Oh no, oh god.... Don't tell me you think that this is a milsim. It's not an enjoyable experience fighting flares, and trying to predict the future with an M5 gets really fucking old. I'm trying to have fun, I think 2 hits to an easy to maneuver flying fortress isn't something anyone would complain about. Either that or buff the M5 speed.
So the ADS speed is higher on the GOL? Or is it placebo my end. 12x feels faster than the 6x. Felt good to use, also bullet travel speed and there's minimal drop. Just a shame it's locked to those scopes
Well you get most of the goto optics for it although it's a shame there is no 8x. You can swap one of the scopes out for a 1x or RDS sight.

Enjoy liz, but her 2nd effect of highlighting target vehicles, is sort of crap. Makes shooting pilots more of a pain.

Do you have to use armor-piercing rounds to kill the pilots?
Technically it would require one or two less rounds than if you did it with normal ammo but you get less armor piercing rounds comparatively to normal rounds for any weapon and when it's not a huge different in total rounds that usually means the damage is so low it's pointless. The BSV does not have armor piercing rounds and I don't use them on the GVT ( I did use them to destroy tanks with really low health using the GVT ).

The ADS speed of the bolt-action snipers was nerfed a few months after launch which basically ruined the fluid scope in times it had prior and made close range fights where accuracy matters even worse because without that faster ADS time there wasn't enough time to go for headshots with the TTK of most other weapons you face. Compare BF3's/BF4's/BF1's scope in times to BF2042's and it's a joke. Makes BF2042 look like the more recent COD games. I'm also not really a fan of one shot to the body weapons, it's not really about accuracy at that point and it's something console players or people using controllers and aimassist count on. The GVT requires you to be accurate and fast, if you don't land your headshots first try you'll most likely lose the fight so to me it's a more appropriate skill weapon especially since it can't one shot to the body unless you are within five meters. Add to that it has a faster ADS or scope in time with its 6x vs the bolt-action sniper's 6x and it becomes a satisfying weapon for me to use and makes it more fair to the lower player pool or player count within my region or nearby regions. Every time I've run around with other weapons it hasn't felt fair and the kills didn't really feel satisfying to me, besides everyone can no-recoil spray the weapons in BF2042 so it's not really special or unique to spam them. It's easy to do so a lot of people do it and it's much easier to do in Battlefield as well as against other people in Battlefield when compared to other games like CS, Valorant, Apex, etc.

@@Ravic You should try the Gol Magnum. It has a fast ADS and doesn't 1HKO to anything except for the head. It was my favorite sniper in Bad Company 2, back before BF3 added the upper torso kill within a certain distance away.

Rockets should do far more than 20 damage to a helicopter. I don't understand that decision....
Looks like DICE nerfed the Accuracy on the GVT 45-70. Too many missed shots that should have hit.
No wonder Battlefield 2042 gets hate because DICE does everything they can to screw the weapons and players who use them.
It’s not the gun, it’s the crappy hitboxes that de sync when a player is moving at a high speed. There’s a link in the description to a video about it

A community manager responded to a question on twitter about it, where someone asked if Sundance was non-binary because of the pronouns used to describe them in BF's official releases, with yes. DICE didn't really make a big deal about it, but the idiots online certainly did.
