Saw you a few years ago when you opened for DC*B @ the service station in Spokane WA. When we got to meet you, my buddy asked you for the chords to a song. You flippin just grabbed a scrap piece of paper & wrote them down for him. Wow. Such an awesome guy you are. God gets the praises !

strumming pattern is (down, up, down, up, down, up,down, up, up, up, down, up, down, up.) tuning is half step tuned down from E, A, D, G, B, E. so tune to D#, G#, C#, F#, A# D#

I'm so glad that you mentioned the thing about putting a capo on the third fret and playing it like that. I was trying to remember how to play the song since it's been a few years from the last time I played it and my wrist was hurting from playing the power chords. That's so much easier on my wrists. This is one of my favorite songs that we played in the youth group when I attended the Church I learned this. I hope you stay blessed and keep making Godly music!

I totally do that too... tune the whole guitar down a half step and I love all the open chords! Glad I found this first... your song just found its way into our "housefire" church songbook
The entire guitar is tuned down a half step [Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb). I personally like this tuning myself since it makes the guitar sound a lot warmer :)
Like he says, he likes to keep the two high strings open when playing in the key of B (but in this case since the guitar is tuned down a half step, it's in the key of Bb)
Try and match his fingering from the video, but think of the first chord (B) as playing only the bottom 4 notes of a F chord bar grip up there where the B root is on the E string. The second chord (E) is the bottom 3 notes of a B chord bar grip with the E root on the A string, keeping every other string open. The third chord is a G# minor but only play the bottom 4 notes of the chord with your thumb on the G# root on the E string, pinky and ring where it should be, and with your index completing the minor 3rd of the chord. The F# is just a normal F# chord but don't bar with your index, only placing it on the F# root on the E string.

Noel Smith: I think I figured it out: you're still barring a G#m but leaving the two bottom strings open; so it's the normal bar chord but your thumb is on G# and your pointer finger is on the B with the bottom two strings open (your middle finger does nothing).

It fills my soul as I meditate on the words and the love of Lord JESUS for me. Glory to the King always. I must also share here that it was this song that inspired me to get my guitar out once again that was locked in my closet. I feel inspired to learn to play it on my guitar.
