I too went to summeer camp. They were the happiest 3 summers I can remember. Now I have lived in the area. well not too far and thought I'd take a trip out there one day, I was so sad but not surprised to see the "FOR SALE" sign. To all my lost friends HAPPY MEMORIES JoAnne MolloY/ Farningham

+JoAnne Farningham It has been sold, and will now be a rehabilitation center for high-end individuals. Memories complete the soul. Hang onto them! :)

Barbara Maria as far as I know it was left there but I’m not sure if we can get on the property to leave flowers or pay respects. I believe no one is there.

Barbara Maria did he live in that small house past the pool? I was a counselor last year they had camp. My Aunt worked at the school, lived on the grounds for so many years. Such a small world! It is sad, I’d give anything to go back and walk around

Barbara Maria ahh okay, I didn’t start going until mid 90s so I didn’t get to meet him. Ah yes the little house.

I went to summer sleep-over camp there in the 1960s - the grounds were magnificent. Camp Alvernea

Is this the old camp grounds of Camp Alvernia, I was very young (12ish) and don't remember too much but this looks very much like it. I always remembered the mansion & the inside was stunning. It was one of the best summers I had their, mad many friends and still have them today. The main camp building was shaped like a cross I think. I would love to go back and visit.

What happened to the cemetery? What road was it on? We used to visit the sisters every fall for Open House when I was a child
