I watch a TH-camr who has memory problems and she leaves a green hair tie on the handle for the garden hose. When she turns it on she puts it on her wrist to remind her it’s on. Thanks for sharing your story ✌️

I have had two benign brain tumors surgically removed (2009 & 2024) and I have some of the same issues. Reading is really difficult for me. I used to be a fast talker and now I have to think and be intentional, especially if there is high emotion tied to the moment. I'm so happy for your progress and healing.

The "happy ending" is you're mostly ok and most importantly getting better by the day, week, month! I'm sure it's hard to deal with struggling with "normal" things. I'm glad you're getting better over time and thank you for sharing.

Hi, I really appreciate you posting this. I have had epilepsy for a good part of my life, since I fell off my bike onto the pavement at 14 (before people even wore helmets, so I'm old!). I didn't know I was having seizures for a long time, but I was having what was called partial temporal lobe seizures. At about 30 yo, I had a tonic-clonic seizure, and that's when life got "interesting". I had many of those over the years, and they became more intense after I went through menopause, until I, like you, began to feel dizzy and I lost words and whole memories. I forgot to do really important things like pay my property taxes and other bills, and almost lost my home due to those things.
I tried many, many different medications for seizure control, but until 2008, my story wasn't going in a good direction. Until I tried one med that was miraculous. Keppra stopped my seizures cold. I was 58 years old, could barely form a coherent sentence or have a coherent thought, had really poor balance, and I spent many months, probably over a year, healing. I didn't have any kind of therapy, as maybe that concept was not as sophisticated as it seems to be for you, but slowly, slowly, my brain healed. I believe your brain just mainly needs time, use, sleep, and good food and exercise to heal. You have come a long way, and your brain is an amazing part of your body--it will heal, I have no doubt.
A lot of people, including doctors, told me I could not regain all that I have--but here I am. Do not give up hope, and thank you for this content. It helped me, and I know will help others!

I had a TBI in March from a random seizure, falling off my bike and getting a concussion. Im amazed how similar our symptoms were: dizzy, feeling drunk, memory difficulty and trouble finding words. I'm 4 months from the concussion and feeling basically back to nearly normal. I was off work for a month and then decided to return because it felt like a good idea to use my brain and challenge myself. I had to do reduced hours, but that was necessary so I wouldn't get overtired. My heart goes out to you and I sincerely hope you heal and recover completely soon.

I have had a concussion. It am 4 years out and still have issues. I recommend setting alarms up on your phone to remind you of what needs to happen.
Like I turn the washer on and 35 minutes later or so I have an alarm go off to remind me to change the laundry out.
I actually dented a stores door frame with my head. It is hard but you can do this. Huge hugs and prayers.

Oh Amber, TBIs are terrible to heal from, but know that it is possible! I had severe frontal lobe injury from a car accident and had alot of the same effects you describe. The doctors are right, you need to make your brain work to reroute the pathways in your neurons. Use your phone to set timers and alarms. Make lists and use your calendar. The less you need to try and remember the better! Almost 25 years later the only effects I still deal with are migraines and losing words occasionally. Be patient and forgiving with yourself,

Best wishes for your rapid healing Amber. I have a ridiculous concussion story too, I trod on a rake, full Three Stooges style, and it flew back and hit me in the forehead. Mine was only mild and it was unpleasant enough, I can't even imagine how awful it must be for you. Take care my dear.

Seems like you and my daughter come about your injuries in the strangest ways 😢 I’m happy to see that you are improving little by little and able to do more than you could. My husband was a cyclist and suffered numerous concussions and likely a TBI years ago. The road to recovery can be long and tedious, but we know so much more now than the late 70’s. Wishing you all the best and happy to see you able to make videos again, I so enjoy watching your gardens evolve ❤

FYI, make sure you are balancing Rest and Doing Things with a concussion. I got a mild concussion once (also a dumb story) and slept on average 12 hrs per night for about a week while doing my regular things during the day. That sleep was some of the best sleep I ever had.

Nice to know I'm not alone on the crazy accidents, in one day 4 falls, 1st toilet sprung a leak, kitchen flooded went to get towels from upstairs thought I was on the bottom step and landed on my knee that had a total replacement, later tripped over the burning barrel grate and fell, clearing a small area from saplings tripped over a log landed on my back unsure how to get up with 2 rotator cup tears, then putting up solar lights in my goat shed had ladder leaning up against the door frame which sunk into the bedding and I road that ladder out the door to the ground...welcome to the club. Thankfully no serious injuries.

Wow that's a scary story... I've hit my head really hard a couple of times, and I know how intense it can be, but thankfully it's not left long term damage (that I know of!), but I would never have guessed that you could have this degree of damage from just a shoulder.I think the only way you can see it is that this is a soul challenge...you need to learn the lessons it's trying to teach you. I bet your daughter feels terrible having let the bloody geese out in the first place! Sending much love to all of you xxxx

Sending you good vibes. I don't think that wanting geese was a bad thing 🥰

So sorry you are still troubled by it! What an adventurous goose 😮 as a person who also has a talent for silly accidents - its so annoying! I hope you will fully heal!

This reminds me of my take on a Louise Hay affirmation, that she said every day... (I certainly need to keep doing this)... This is hers, but I adjusted it for me... I am in Perfect Health, Happy, Joyous, Prosperous, Lean and Free, and these divine rights, I claim for me... Perhaps you could fashion your own? It certainly feels good to do this. I wish Perfect Health for you and your family.. 💚

That is one interesting story! Wow. So sorry that happened to you. It was a freak accident I would call it. I hope you can overcome it and get back to normal soon. Sending you good vibes from New Jersey US. I remember my Grandmother having geese like those and one time them chasing me when I was a little girl. I was so scared because I knew they could bite me and I was terrified of them. They must have been the same geese you have - large, white geese. Ok, well, thanks for letting everyone know what happened to you and hopefully you are on the mend. Take care.

I am 5 years out from my head injury of my frontal lobe. I still have major symptoms after going through all kinds of therapy. The answer I have finally gotten was that these symptoms will not improve. I am going to be 65 this year and had to retire 5 years ago because of it all. A lot of anxiety and depression as well. I am so sorry to hear your story. I hope that you are able to get some answers.

What a wild story! It's absurd and almost funny that I also got a (mild) concussion from connecting my head to my husband's body (elbow) while *getting out of the car*. Partners are a hazard we never knew we had.

Oh my gosh, you get it then! Going to have to tell my husband that others have experienced it as well 😆 hope you’re ok now!

I gave myself a concussion with my partner too! I sat straight up in bed in the middle of the night and then fell back down in my sleep, but I fell down temple first into my partners forehead. I immediately woke up and felt sick to my stomach and the next day I felt like I had been hit by a truck. My whole body was sore and I almost felt like I was sick. My partner didn’t even wake up 😂 Our brains are crazy!

Your story is hard to hear as it brought me back to my accident that caused my concussion I had in August, 2013. It was my first (and last😜) time on a horse. It’s really difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it. It took me just over 10 years to get back to myself. You can get through this! It is scary and frustrating and infuriating. With good therapy and lots of pacing, you will get back to yourself🥰🥰🥰

My mum and I were once trapped on top of a park table bc we ran out of food to give these geese and they started attacking us🥲

My friend got a TBI by sitting in a shopping cart and then it wheeling away and bonking into something. Also not how you would expect a grownup to get a concussion 😂😅

I’m so sorry you are still suffering with a TBI. What a crazy story! The goose should be on punishment😂
