Looking good amber ❤ happy to see you healthy and happy. Lolol I love the way ducks waddle and slap their feet. Loved watching them all come out of their house ❤❤❤
Your bees are going to love all of those fruit trees og berry bushes next spring🐝❤️ And of course you and your family will enjoy the fruits and berries 😍
Hey y'all, Wow that is a lot of fruit and regenerative food year after year and $$$$ in your pocket. I dislike raspberries so I would divide the whole amount 50/50 blue and black berries. Having a new property y'all are doing all the right things with getting future food for all time even to the next owner of the property. In the military I was taught and believe in the concept of leave it better than you found it. Leave it cleaner than you found it and leave it more productive than you found it. God bless y'all be safe this summer, Steven
Thanks Steven! Very much agree with leaving things better than we find them! If only more people had the same approach to life we’d be living in a much better world. Hopefully people learn!
You can use apple cider vinegar or fruit scrap vinegar for acidifying the soil, add some honey for biological boost and your blueberries will love you!
Best bet for blueberries is Espoma Hollytone bought from COSTCO during the spring. They sell for half price of the garden centers. Used it for years and never been disappointed :)
Hey Amber, you mentioned Coffee grounds.. Check your area for a Tim Horton's for that. I get a bucket full each week from them for free. Call and ask for the manager.
Maybe you can locate a coffee shop, gas station, restaurant, etc who will give you their coffee grounds as long as up provide the bucket and pick it up regularly. Just a thought
@@FairlyRooted Just show up mid day and ask for their grounds. They will happily give you the plastic trash can liner. One less trip they have to make to the dumpster.
I never thought about flipping the grass upside down to compost for a new tree but I am definitely doing that today when I plant some evergreens and lilacs! I am excited to see how your fruit bushes hold up because I will also be starting a huge bed of haskaps, raspberries, blueberries, and anymore kinds of fruit that will hold up in Alberta
I've been enjoying your new channel a lot as I am a small beginner gardener. I can live vicariously through you for my garden dreams 😍 also where did you get your overalls?
You can do it! We all start somewhere. My overalls are from DoveTail! dovetailworkwear.ca/?dt_id=488273 I have a coupon code which might work FAIRLYROOTED
Planting for the future is always exciting! Random question, could you at some point mention again the name of the foraging lives & basket backpack that you showed in the past? I'd planned to get my husband some for a gift, but can't recall the company name! 😅
I think gifting your riding lawn mower neighbor a peck basket of in season harvest every other week is a much better idea than buying a riding lawn mower, friend. American's believe that we all have to own our own 'stuff' - when the reality is that people of good will have no problem sharing/bartering/gifting equipment and services. The lady probably finds grass cutting her way to be soothing. Who doesn't need more soothing in the crazy world we live in!? So why tie up your capital?
I gift her eggs and soap! She definitely doesn’t want to cut our grass forever… we’d borrow her mower, but not everyone is into that. We do like trading and borrowing better, but some people aren’t into it… our Amish neighbours are more into it haha we let them borrow stuff and we do likewise all the time!
@@FairlyRooted You've got it handled! It is great to know you have those options. And I'll bet the neighbor lady really appreciates the farm fresh eggs and hand made soap. Good for you :) All the best!
When you do the more permanent wire, can you show us how you do that? I did wire for mine and I think I did it wrong. It just didn't work the way I did it. I know you said next year. We are going to be selling our house in the next 6 to 8 months. So I'll have to be starting over with all my fruit trees.
Yes, definitely will film it! Congrats on the new house! It’s hard to start over, but then you also take everything you’ve learnt to begin again. Never starting from zero.
I'm so grateful you decided to keep showing your garden to us. I finally have a garden I feel connected to this year, and you inspire me so much!
The bird procession at the beginning was the best!!! :)
I love to watch chickens, ducks, and Guinea fowl coming out of the coop, like clowns from a clown car. 🦆🐓💙
Haha they are fun to watch!!
Looking good amber ❤ happy to see you healthy and happy. Lolol I love the way ducks waddle and slap their feet. Loved watching them all come out of their house ❤❤❤
They are cuties! 🤗❤️
So glad you are feeling better Amber. Love your new direction, helps me learn.
I CAN NOT with all the CUTENESS!!!!💙
You are right ❤️If not As the Grandchildren 😊
Your bees are going to love all of those fruit trees og berry bushes next spring🐝❤️ And of course you and your family will enjoy the fruits and berries 😍
I hope everything grows well!!
That looked like a million chickens!
Haha not quite, 19 chickens! But I do have a few ducks 😆
Thank you for continuing to encourage and teach homesteading, do it yourself. I love your videos!

My experience with cherry bushes was so/so. They fruited the second year, but the birds ate each and every one of them...
Excited to be on the new channel!

It’s going to ba amazing!! 🥰
I wish I could give you half of my raspberries, they are taking over the garden :) you are looking good Amber, I hope you feel better!

Awesome things to look forward to‼️
Thanks to this video now I know how to hammer in a stake :))) Good to see you :)
Oh my goodness! What a come up on the blueberry bushes! The whole family will be up to their ears in them in no time! 😅
I sure hope so! They are babies right now, but soon!
The flap flap of duck feet 😍😍 the upside down grass idea is great!! I am battling grass in my front lawn, trying to kill grass is not easy 😭
It’s very not easy!!! Keep going!
Great video. Really enjoying your new challenge

OUr romance series cherries are fruiting at 3-4 years..they were the same size as yours when we planted. :) Lots more cherries this year!
Good news!! Thank you!☺️

Spent coffee grounds are not acidic and will not help blueberries at all.

Thrifted! I think it’s like a visor?

Thank you!
I have Romeo and Juliette. They are bushes.
I figured, but then the website I ordered from says 10 feet tall. That’s a big bush!
So glad you are feeling better Amber. Love your new direction, helps me learn.
