    Nobody in their right mind advocates replacing all food with meal supplement shakes. They're just a good way to help supplement good eating habits and a way to help over eaters limit their food intake.

      Depends, if your wife also works all the time, then quite frankly, it will be hard. The only bad thing that came from female entrance in the job market is the neglect some children may or may not face. I really hope I'm wrong because if you do feed your children this tasteless slush with poor nutritional value, then you are basically setting it up for a future nutritional problem. Also the family bond is all formed in the table, the chatting, the jokes and everything else involving interaction serves as a way to bond with your children. It is tough but your children come first, they always do, switch jobs, take days off, do something, but let that something be impactfull to your child in a good way of course. Again, I am not telling you how to raise a child, I am here just to remind you what your responsibilities are.

Especially when they are sugar free.. so next time i take a sugary candy bar after a long time, i feel so sick from sugar so i don't think about going back to sweets ever again lol 😂 talk about a "relationship" with food.. but that's the reality, there are sooo many people in the world with this problem. I drank jimmy joy-shakes ONLY for several months while working out a lot. I lost almost 40 pounds of body weight during that time. I felt awesome. Also got checked by several doctors. Excellent blood work, heart function, etc. Of course you can't be sure what this kind of diet might do to you in the long run but considering my experience I doubt it would harm you. The body is so adaptable and can deal quite well with even very extreme forms of diet. A vegan meal consisting of things like oat, flax seed and soy with all the needed amino acids, vitamins and minerals sounds like a rather good choice if you ask me. 😄

  • @eolsunder
    @eolsunder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    first off as a health nut when i was younger and i did all that stuff, body building, protein drinks, etc. Your body does NOT get all the nutrients it needs during the day, especially for normal people who eat junk food, bad food, etc. That is why multi vitamins were invented. There isn't anything wrong with meal replacements if they are decent, protein drinks were developed for a REASON, they wouldn't exist if body builders didn't use them, and they work. Food of course is THE best way to get vitamins, minerals etc into your body for process, your body was designed to use them that way, but most people don't have the time, or money to eat correctly. If they did, everyone would be in great shape, no fat people, lots of healthier people. The world doesn't work that way. I was just listening to this guy laughing about someone who knows nothing about anything. 90% of the world doesn't eat correctly to be that way. Use meal replacements if you want, the good ones do what they are suppose to do. Its quick and easy to grab a quick non-healthy meal out the door, its a lot longer to grab and make a healthy one. If you can make up your shake in a minute or 2 and be on your way, great, you don't have time to whip up the fish and salad healthy meal you SHOULD be eating, but a replacement meal is better than picking up some donuts and coffee on the way to work.

And it is a meal replacement for me because I eat small meals every two hours and what it does is it leaves me filled up for 2 to 3 hours and it’s a total of about 300 calories and 50g of protein. I usually make one in the morning because I’d rather sleep longer and not have to cook breakfast. I prepare my lunch, which is usually a salad and I pack fruits for meal, two and four during my breaks at work. And I have food already prepared for dinner every three days that I just have to reheat. One meal replacement shake a day maybe even two sometimes it’s almost mandatory for me less dishes less money spent it’s healthy and it’s delicious.

    I’m always keep track of my food, what i ate and how much is it that i got... and I also use meal replacement for almost 3 years because i want to gain weight but many times that i can’t eat more to reach the number of calories. yeah, it helped me many times. Also everybody know, another reason is healthy food is hard to get sometimes. In the past i had a habit of eating Frozen food from convenient store everyday and sit still working all day.. that cause me a pain in my chest once or twice a month.. until someone gave me an advice to change from eating frozen food to drinking meal replacement and try to go eating at restaurant, yeah after that i just get better, no more symptom and have new habit of being picky with foods unlike my friends. It’s not that we need to live our life with these shakes, we still can consume junk foods, eating fat, enjoy sugar🤣 because the key of healthy life is adequacy, moderation. When You know that yesterday you ate bad things Today you just need to eat something healthier and do some cardio, lift weight! That’s all. Another key is Gain muscle! It will increase your metabolism!

    I was diagnosed a few years ago with lymphocytic esophagitis, so eating a balanced meal isn't possible--it simply won't go down my inflamed gullet. So besides eggs and potatoes which goes down easy, I've had to greatly rely on shakes. Kate Farms, Kachava, Soylent, I just rotate them as best I can. But yeah, for some of us this isn't a choice.

    Extreme opinions by the main speakers. If you took the same open minded approach you applied to your sponsors supplement powder…as in situational usefulness…as in…the meal replacement isn’t as good as a beautifully prepared lean meal with kale and what not vs it’s certainly better than a double pounder with cheese meal…then this podcast could have some usefulness. It’s hubris to assume that a majority of folks are eating great healthy meals and considering replacing them with powder. You could tell before the comments began that they weren’t going to come from a place of any reasonable perspective. Disappointing.

    The one guy who answered first is addicted to food. Nothing is wrong with a meal replacement. It's protein carbs fats minerals and vitamins. Easier on your digestive system. I don't eat to enjoy it with friends like it's drugs or alcohol. A shake after a workout or in the morning is pretty much a meal replacement. I don't think people are replacing every meal with a meal replacement shake. But you can if you want.

    It’s annoying when people take a general question and pull to the extreme. Replacing mealS is different than replacing A meal. If you want to be technical about it, we shouldn’t be eating as much as we do. Our bodies were made to be in ketosis but the food industry won us over with the idea of “3 square meals a day”. Early days of humanity would laugh in all our faces if they knew we have been complaining about what, how, and where we are getting our food.

    It's funny that he says that you can't live off of meal replacement powders/shakes. But the interesting thing, is that all four of my children were born and raised on formula only (powdered Enfamil or Isomil) since their mother was unable to produce breast milk. And there are millions of other families around the world doing the same. So this is not an uncommon process or phenomenon or something, and is completely healthy for the baby to be fed this way. Can adults receive the same types of nutrition as babies? Sure, why not! I mean, think about all the other junk we shove into our mouths every day that really is completely unhealthy and we seem to stay alive, not even referring to tobacco products or alcohol. Every drive-thru is much worse, and most groceries are full of partially hydrogenated, or enriched bleached flours, or high fructose corn syrups, yet we still keep shoving them down our throats calling it "food". So this idea that a meal replacement can't exist and can't sustain a human as well or better than the solids is false. I have been on it for months solid with no deviation. And my body only had problems with my diet when I had a cheat day with regular food. Otherwise, everything was normal, my health was stable and acceptable, and my weight was being properly managed.

    Like the guy was saying they help with control . Not everyone has the time or facilities to weigh their food , cook , or prep. These MRD (meal replacement drinks) give you an idea of portion control by providing you with the satiated feeling. Maybe the person who is trying these MRD had an issue With food constantly snacking or eating terribly these can help them reset. This isn't really for people who have a healthy and controlled relationship to food . This is like a stepping stone for self discipline because weighing your food and preping when you have never had to do that before is intimidating and it can turn people off of it really quick

    In my opinion I don't see anything wrong with using a meal replacement powder strictly as a SUPPLEMENT. If you're trying to bulk, and you at least eat your other meals just fine and are totally balanced with veggies, fruit, protein, carbs, fats etc. having a healthy made meal replacement powder will help you reach your caloric needs. I suppose this video was geared mainly towards those who strictly rely on just meal replacement shakes/drinks which some people really do need meals in liquid form due to circumstances, but those who have the ability to eat raw home-made food should do so, but certainly doesn't hurt to also use meal replacements/ mass gainers to help aid your caloric goals in a given day.

    I actually see what they’re saying agree with them mostly about the marketing to basically replace every meal. I think the biggest not being talked about tho is WHAT exactly the meal replacement is. For example, something like Ka’Chava is completely different from something like Ensure or Slim Fast. One is extremely nutrient dense and made of actual food while the others are mostly fillers; basically an adult form of baby formula. All in all, I don’t think they’re necessarily bad. It just depends on the WHAT your putting in your body, where it come from, etc.

  • @antonioparamo2048
    @antonioparamo2048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with some of the things he said and some I don’t. Some of the people they just don’t have time. Even if you try to make time. Now if they replace the whole meals with liquid that’s something else. Which is bad. But if you replace 1 meal what’s so wrong with that? Why attack people that live different that you do? Calling them narcissistic just because of that? I think everyone is stilted to their own opinion and is respectable but that doesn’t make you right of give you the right to judge other for the way of living.

He’s kid of going off the deep end of the question in which we weren’t looking for the answer to, and he’s kind of reaching a little. I’m sure whoever asked the question wants to know what’s his thoughts on meal replacement FOR WHT ITS FOR, and that’s to replace one meal as a lower calorie choice to achieve some kind of deficit.

    Cooking from easily purchased foods from supermarkets or markets is a lot easier than going out to hunt or grow your own food like we used to. Humans are getting lazier and lazier always looking for the shortcut for the best outcome. Our bodies need to breakdown and digest. Liquids do not leave any work for the mouth to chew, the internal organs to do their job as they were created to do. Yes they have there place for sickness recovery, people unable to digest whole foods, old people, kids with certain illnesses but to replace entire meals is just ridiculous. And before you say i just don't have time. That all comes down to discipline no matter what life style you have. No kids or 10 kids, pets or whatever. If you have to you will do. I mean you make sure your kids are clothed and fed and you do everything to make it happen. You make sure you are at work on time and do your job. DISCIPLINE, don't be lazy and find excuses.

  • @questioneverything3026
    @questioneverything3026 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    They talk as if you can't have a balanced diet, meal replacements don't mean you ONLY drink the powder 2 to 3 times a day, forever,
    If you know your daily intake, substitute a breakfast or lunch for one liquid meal, it is more about you have the basic dietary daily amount in the shakes, and if like me you are older with a gut or just overweight, you need to reduce intake of calories,
    Most older people have added health complications, but you need to be able to reduce your calorie intake but still feel full instead of snacking on crisps and sweets,
    And if you feel full and consume less calories you should lose weight, it isn't a case of being lazy, poor sods on minimum wage, 60 hours a week, no time or money for the gym or a personal trainer or even weight watchers should also be able to live a healthy balanced diet,
    There isn't just 1 way to do it, closed minded people will always push their narrative as the correct one, but ultimately it is an individuals choice to decide how they want to change their own life,
    Inform yourself with all the information and make your own decision on how you procede, as to do nothing will end in tears,
    Your body is a temple.
