The first thing that will draw your attention to this car are its distinctive looks. The RCZ was inspired by the firm's Le Mans racing cars. One of the most arresting aspects of the car is its 'double bubble' roof - An interesting design that has function as well as form; when it rains water is channeled off the roof and down the rear screen onto the ground. Distinctive aluminium 'arches' either side of that roof complete the distinctive and innovative look. Our car is a sought after "GT" model which has the larger 19" Saltice alloys, which looks very sporting indeed. And yet, despite the low lines of a racer and an involving drive, the RCZ remains comfortable. The cabin is well-appointed with sports seats, a leather wrapped dashboard and a premium feel. Whilst you're not going to fit adults in the rear (the sloping roofline sees to that) there is at least a pair of rear seats with Isofix mounting points for child seats. The boot's pretty big for such a sleek coupe too, the 384-litre load space meaning its perfect for longer trips away.

The factory fitted cruise control on this GT model makes it a very effective motorway tool and it is a surprisingly capable long distance cruiser thanks to a well equipped and fairly roomy (up front) interior. Another useful feature on this car is the park distance sensors which are mounted front and rear to assist you with a visual and acoustic aid when parking. Very useful in such a curvaceously shaped coupe. One of the real stand out features of this GT model has to the that gorgeous leather clad interior. It looks fantastic and offers a touch of luxury as well as added comfort and support. The driving position is excellent and the whole car feels as though it has been built to last. Those sporty looking front seats have electric adjustment and are heated for even greater comfort. The suspension is also very comfortable for such a low-slung, sporty coupe. This was the 1st automatic model of RCZ I have driven and it left me greatly impressed with its smooth gearchanges and eagerness to kick-down under acceleration.

But the 406 coupé gives the word beautiful a whole other meaning.
Till this day it has to be one of the most beautiful Peugeot cars ever built (even if it was built by the Italians and not the French)
