The Paceman is a larger, more practical and better looking sibling for the Mini hatchback. This is a 4 seater coupe model with the higher profile of a crossover, and a elongated stance which make it a lot more comfortable and practical, with improved interior space and a larger boot. Just like the hatch, it's also filled with retro charm and is guaranteed to raise a smile every time you drive it. Power comes from a BMW derived 2.0 litre, 143bhp Turbo diesel engine which is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. This car has a high specification including unmarked, diamond-cut 18" alloy wheels and a full leather interior with 4 individual seats which have a high quality feel and offer excellent comfort and support. The cars central instrument binnacle houses a colour screen navigation system, reverse parking aid and a superb DAB stereo which also utilises bluetooth streaming and telephone.

Minis are all about feel-good factor and despite being notably larger than the regular mini hatch, our Paceman still feels special. The interior and exterior of this car are full of interesting details and features which set this car apart from a regular hatchback. The seats are very well proportioned and offer excellent support. This car has several John Cooper Works accessories including the steering wheel, which is suitably small and chunky. This Cooper SD model has around 143bhp so it is very quick, especially with the 6 speed manual gearbox. The car has a selectable "Sport" mode - Engage this and the throttle response is sharpened and the handling becomes almost "Go-Kart" like for the maximum, smiles per miles, Economy is excellent though and we averages over 50 mpg on our test drive. With the cruise control engaged the Mini becomes all grown-up, offering smooth and comfortable high speed cruising, and superb ride comfort. This is a Mini for all occasions and it looks simply sensational in white with the black roof and carbon effect mirror caps - Probably the smartest Pacemen we have ever seen!!

The combination of looks and practicality make this one of my favorite Minis. It certainly is a car which turns heads and has a real Feel-Good factor. But it is also a car that is also practical, with its spacious and well equipped interior and economical diesel engine, The high quality of fit and finish give this car a real premium feel over rivals. The cabin is both simple and uncluttered; the retro-toggle switches -a reminder of this cars heritage. The speedometer is still housed in that traditional MIni position, big, bold and dominating the centre of the dashboard - But in our high spec Pacemen SD, it also houses the cars widescreen navigation and media interface. This mix of retro and modern, makes the Paceman interior a very cool space. The whole thing looks and feels fantastic, adding to the feeling that this is something a little bit special. All the controls have that retro feel, even the traditional looking toggle switches which operate the cars fog lights and auxiliary functions - fitted as they were in the original Mini in the centre console under that large central speedo. The full leather on this car completes the premium feel and the whole car is in immaculate condition, both inside and out.
