Wow, this is such an amazing and inspiring video! You are truly living the van life dream, even in the most extreme conditions. I admire your courage and resilience to face the arctic blizzard and still enjoy the beauty of nature. Your van looks so cozy and comfortable, I love how you decorated it and how you have everything you need. Thank you for sharing your incredible adventure with us, I can’t wait to see more of your videos. Stay safe and warm, Norwegian Xplorer! 👏👏👏
This video is unbelievable. A person would have to be super experienced to venture out in something like that. Where are those big rigs and passenger cars going? Do people actually live there? Are those roadside shelters heated? Do they have kitchens, beds, and bathrooms? You are really dedicated to go out in a blizzard like that to film for your viewers. It is a relief when you go back into your warm van. Where does the Arctic Circle go to on the other side of it? How can people drive so fast over that ice and snow?
Haha, lots of questions Janet! I will try to answer them in videos. The arctic circle goes around the whole globe and through Alaska, Russia etc. People have been living here for thousands of years and are well used to these conditions. Thanks for being a member of my channel Janet!"
Thanks! Got a friend that lives in southern Sweden and her daughter lives up north by artic circle and I hear from her about the weather and now I can see it.
Amazing camera work, as usual. Excellent... simply excellent! But I think with this genre of "van vs. winter" video you have tapped into something truly primal in out human experience. Thousands of years ago I imagine we gathered in warm caves, lit and warmed by fire. We cooked our food and covered ourselves with warm animal hides against the cold. And we listened to the wind and snow sound echoing into the cavern from outside. Surely there is a collective memory in us that awakens when we hear that winter wind and now see your mobile cave taking you into the Arctic storm and bringing you back again. Always an enjoyable experience!
I must say that you do a really good job. When I watch your videos I actually feel that I'm in the cozy van experiencing everything that you are experiencing. Your excellent videos and pictures show that you put a lot of hard work and love into your content/projects. I'm sure it can get lonely and it's a lot of hard work, but keep it up for as long as you possible can. We all very much enjoy your work. I can watch your videos for hours at a time. Well done! I will subscribe and to your channel and now I will donate $$. You deserve it.
Now THATS what I call a storm. Yes it looks fun and yes I want to be there!!! But Jaal is there to give us the experience. Love your vids Jaal. Amazing Arctic footage.
That is some crazy weather! I live in Northern Michigan and I thought we had it bad… I was wrong! lol! Ya know what I like? You seem to always have a smile on your face! 😊 thanks for sharing this icy 🥶 land with us!
Thank you so much Andrea, I am always happy to be in this weather. Blizzards are awesome because you can walk around outside without being soaked in rain:-)

What an adventure Jarl? Of all the amazing videos you do, this was special in a way? I want to go to Norway and Sweden to see in person the awesome places, But this Arctic Circle video made me feel like I was there. Thank you for that experience. And thanks for the purple frozen faces you did for us.......not smart, lol, lol. Love ya man. Good new mic! Find your goggles too.
Oh ! What a cosy moment having your tastefull meal with the candlelights in the little houses, that project their shadows on the wall.... You deserved a peacefull rest after all those icy emotions ! - The trees make me think of grey pencil drawings on a white paper, fading away by the blizzard.... You had the courage to leave your van, to go out in those harsh conditions, the blizzard blowing into your face, filming to show us how the hurricane is setting up. And always appreciating the degree of "Adventure", remaining astonished, and keeping smiling... ! Thanks Jarl 😆 ! With your fur-cap you make me think of Amundsen ....
Jeez, that wind looked strong enough to scour the paint off your van. By the amount of traffic, there seems to be quite a number of inhabitants in that area of the world, considering the weather conditions. Great storm, though. I enjoyed watching you enjoy every minute of it.
Thanks Judi, people have been living here for thousands of years, and there is basically only one road you can take to get from north to south, and that is this one.
@@NorwegianXplorer I’ve not had much luck with Italian machinery, cars, motorcycles, tin openers etc, I don’t normally buy anything Italian unless it’s in a bottle 😜 but we are contemplating upgrading from our VW T5 to this size van and you are helping to convince me that the Fiat is up to the job 👍🏻🇬🇧

Really enjoyed this one, Jarl. I've never been to the Artic, beautiful, and intimidating at the same time. The new mic sounds great in those gail force winds. Cheers from Texas USA
30:23; you just answered my question about the structure near your van. Is it unlocked & accessible? 55:40; Incessant/non-stop wind velocity, cold temperatures, really inhospitable environment. I was feeling cold & had to put on a jacket while just watching your video. Coincidentally, I'm 2/3 of the way through reading "Crossing Antarctica" a book authored by Will Steger & Jon Bowermaster detailing the tribulations 6 men had while crossing their historic 3,741 mile journey in 1990 with dog sleds. Good decision to buy the cover & use it over the radiator of your van. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing this experience with MEeee. 1:01:28; I, too, would have wanted that same cup of coffee It never ceases to amaze me how much heat is generated from a couple of candles. Tomorrow, Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday here in America - most everyone will be watching it. Warm Regards from far away Reno, Nevada, U.S.A.
Hey Bill, thanks for our conversations here, I really appreciate it. This trip is so much fun, in the next episode I will reach Lofoten and head into the famous 3 hurricanes named Ingunn, they broke the records here in Norway. Good luck on the SUperbowl, did Taylor Swift make to Vegas in time?
Thank you. I love seeing this snowy weather. It’s amazing that I can still remember the chill feeling, the icy blast on the face as I see you standing in it, yet the last time I lived in and experienced a snow climate, I was 11, I am now 65. Amazingly I still remember it well, thanks for the experience and the memories

Reindeer/caribou, so majestic. Arctic appears desolate yet many villagers. Curious, resident or tourist passenger train. Very good microphone. Fast vehicles with little visibility. Remarkable how you balance in extreme wind. Chilled face. The reverse in New Mexico with life above 100* in June. Wow on burrito/wrap. Thank you!
Ahhh… soooo good to be back. I was tied up with an urgent family matter and experienced Norwegian Explorer withdrawal symptoms :-) What ???!!! That weather was TOTALLY nuts. You like it wild. No wait … you love it wild. You’re so connected with nature in all its forms. It lights you up. You’re in your element Jarl! As always, super stunning footage! You’ve sure met with your share of severe relentlessness winds on your adventures. It sounded like you were on a runway with boatloads of jets taking off. Your new mic is great. Really picks up sound nicely. So I love the addition of the new cozy candle holder. Very nice. BTW. That train was the coolest! BEAUTIFUL shot Jarl! And beautiful footage of the convoy. You are beautifully venturesome.
Thank you Paxton, this was a great storm indeed, really felt amazed by this one. I am however now trapped in one out in Honningsvåg with closed roads that I do not enjoy too much. Cant always find the "good" storms I guess lol
Oh boy Jarl. Sounds like not what you had in mind. Adventures come in so many shapes and sizes. You are hardwired for it, an adventurous soul who likes excitement. But it’s hard to achieve victory in every situation. Keep safe. I’m anxious to see the video about this one.
It is the first storm I have been annoyed at😂 It is not terrible, just annoying, I am trapped out here on the furthest place you can go in Europe and all roads are closed because of avalances, but I tell myself there is always a meaning behind it wherever I go, it always turns out for the best in the end:-)
LOL, “annoying”. You’re funny. Yes! I’m a firm believer in that as well. I always look for the positive in the negative and it’s surprising how many times I’ve done that and actually glad that the negative thing happened. LOL. :-)
Crazy conditions. Pure bitter blowing cold. Only U Jarl loves this kind of weather n I love that for u. I love all that makes u happy ! That Artic welcome center seems VERY cool. The scenes of my son’s smile is spectacular. Love the blue hour. The polar express was one of my son’s favorite movies. BLESS the Grey warrior ! It just keeps holding up n protecting u. By the way I absolutely love u n black. It really makes ur blue eyes piercing. N that taupe sweater is nice on u too. Love the coffee n candles n just visiting with our friend. Stay safe as I keep to pray for u n the Grey warrior both !!! 👍🙏❤️‼️ TJ

I guess we know where all the snow has gone. Here I am in Wisconsin, and today marks the first day where there is no snow left in my yard…in mid-February. We have a utility company laying fiber optic cable in our town, something they shouldn’t be able to do this time of year. Yet strangely, FB sent me a 5 years ago message. It was a picture of our mailbox out by the street. The snow was over the mailbox and we had to shovel it out so the mail carrier could deliver our mail. What a difference five years can make.

LOL. :-)
Damn, The Storm itself looks scary and That Electric Blue just makes it even scarier and More Out of this world😧. What an Amazing Videos🤩
Thank you so much:-)
Crazy conditions.
👍🙏❤️‼️

The winds are so strong that it almost looks like well done special effects. Another fantastic adventure in the fierce Artic elements. Probably I would've never got out of the van. LOL! 😂

Hello 👋
Brrrrrrr... I got cold watching this, I had to throw something on and warm up.
LOL I forgot that I was in a warm climate. Thank you for the video, stay safe.
Haha, I am glad to hear that my friend!
It looks like you’re driving through space. Beautiful.
Yes, pretty much how it feels!
I’m still looking for reindeer and I didn’t see Santa either. He must be resting still from his recent trip around the world lol. That was some blizzard. I thought that A-frame was a shelter of some sort. Beautiful scenery even in a blizzard.
Most reindeer have been moved to areas where they can find food at this time
I love how much you enjoy this crazy weather, I do too. I live in portland oregon haven't been in a blizzard like you're in, But i'm one of the few that hopes for snow storms and to be shut in and to just enjoy the beauty of the weather. Thank you so much for sharing it so that we have a chance to experience it sort of with you. God bless you❤
Blizzards are a lot of fun I think, as long as you know you can be safe!

At first (months ago) I thought your videos were a bit long, but after I got nestled in I became glad that they were! It's almost like an escape from life's problems. I imagine sitting quietly with you in your van watching the storms while you cook up a burger. Keep up the great work, you put a lot into them, and it's worth it. Is there any way to contact you privately, im not savy with phone tech. I would like to suport!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that, you can email me at contactnorwegianxplorer@gmail . com
Great video.
It's so hot and humid here in Australia, I'd love that drastic change..
Cool, lol, pun intended
No need to go to Alaska for the extremes! This looked intense. What an awesome experience. Take care out there.
You got that right lol. Where I am sitting now I am at the same degree north as Prudhoe Bay in Alaska and I still have plenty of road left to go north.
Une vidéo magnifique comme d'habitude merci pour votre effort. Merci pour le partage ❤

Thank you Tanja! Greetings!
Oh wow, here the winter is relentless this year
Third video I've watched. Just subbed. This is what I like to watch.
Thank you and welcome!
