- STAR WARS Suite by John Williams.
Arranged and performed by: Anders Vassli Brekke
Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim
The Cathedral Organ by Steinmeyer (1930)
STAR WARS Suite:
I. Main Title (00:00)
II. Princess Leia´s Theme (07:15)
V. Throne Room & End Title (12:33)
This arrangement is designed to perform Williams' orchestral suite on a cathedral organ with the idea of trying to get the sound of the organ as close as possible to the original orchestral sound.
Filming and recording:
Anders Vasslie Brekke, Sofie Larsen
A huge thanks to my supervisor:
Erling With Aasgård
I got to hear the organ before the rebuild, and when it had no real facade, but it was impressive even then.
Steinmeyer organs are wonderful! I need to go back now. 😊
Wow! Fantastic playing on an amazing instrument!!!
Great!!!!!
Swell too! I'm very Positive to all this!
sehr aufwendig und abwechlungsreich registriert! weiter so 👏
This was amazing, will you ever do any other starwars themes such as ones from the prequals?
Thanks! Yes, really want do more of the music from Star Wars. But it depends of how much time I have beside other project the next years😊
Biggest Organ in Europe?
I think the organ in the Dom in Passau claims to be the largest in Europe, but they have 5 organs wired together, and playable from one huge console, (or separate smaller ones), so they are cheating a bit!
Very clever, but quite a bit slow compared to the original.
yes, goodt point. It was quite hard to find a tempo to the first movement that sound clear and steady true the piece. After recording it I regret not to try a higher tempo.
Is the score available for sale? :)
No Unfortunately. It was sheet music and arrangements I made in connection with a concert. So they are not published anywhere.
