  • STAR WARS Suite by John Williams.
Arranged and performed by: Anders Vassli Brekke

    Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim
The Cathedral Organ by Steinmeyer (1930)
    STAR WARS Suite:
    I. Main Title (00:00)
    II. Princess Leia´s Theme (07:15)
    V. Throne Room & End Title (12:33)
This arrangement is designed to perform Williams' orchestral suite on a cathedral organ with the idea of trying to get the sound of the organ as close as possible to the original orchestral sound.

I got to hear the organ before the rebuild, and when it had no real facade, but it was impressive even then.
Steinmeyer organs are wonderful! I need to go back now. 😊

I think the organ in the Dom in Passau claims to be the largest in Europe, but they have 5 organs wired together, and playable from one huge console, (or separate smaller ones), so they are cheating a bit!

Very clever, but quite a bit slow compared to the original.

yes, goodt point. It was quite hard to find a tempo to the first movement that sound clear and steady true the piece. After recording it I regret not to try a higher tempo.

No Unfortunately. It was sheet music and arrangements I made in connection with a concert. So they are not published anywhere.
