Sohyang has swag and she can rap too. Check "Childish Adult" with J. K. Kim Dong Wook, "Lean On Me" (ep with Michael Bolton), and Begin Again's "Day Day" to see her tackling the faster and rhythmic songs.
At 44 with chronic lung-related issues, moving around and hitting those notes properly must be demanding for her. That's why I admire Sohyang greatly. When it comes to her singing, she always puts all on the line to deliver properly. And she never disappoints indeed.

She is a pioneer vocalist. This song is originally korean traditional song, but she changed it into an art masterpiece. Even Koreans were shocked at first hearing. She's not just a singer. She's an epic!!

'Day Day', from the 2020 Begin Again Korea, mini concert series. During the beginning of the pandemic, So Hyang, along with several popular/famous musicians and K-Pop artists, traveled around South Korea, performing acoustic concerts. The crowds are smaller, due to limitation in gatherings. The audiences were selected by lottery. So Hyang is spitting bars like she has been rapping her entire life. In rehearsals, the younger K-Pop singers, couldn't handle the rhythm and cadence of rapping. So Hyang was sitting down,
letting the words flow easily out of her mouth.

This is more like her church performances with the hooting, jumping and arm waving. Sohyang has sung hip-hop for 20 years both in church (Hip Hop Hallelujah, Hip Hop Everyone, etc.) and alongside many Korean rappers (San-E, YDG, HaHa, TAW and others). It's only new to people who've only seen her contest performances like Immortal Songs rather than her everyday work.
Thank you for sharing this information with us! This certainly adds to our appreciation of her talent and versatility. SoHyang has done so much new stuff the last year and a half, since her health seems to be much better and she has had no Pneumonia in More then 3 years( before that she had the dreaded lung disease 8 or 9 times in a little more then two years) She seriously considered quitting but she knew the regret would cut her deep so she battled on! She is so kind and compassionate but is a fighter! Here is a great new song she does with Petra ( they wrote it, and did vocal background for themselves) it’s is geared for her Gospel Ministry but is a great Performance !

I thought the creepy lyrics of her solo in the first part revealed the mission on this planet she got in her from the Lord. That'll be the reason why she sings. She always picks up the song after scrutinizing its lyrics first. She might have thought of them as her story.
