    It's interesting that you all it Jennifer's rule of blending thirds, since the technique has been around for a long time, even when I was a teen this was taught in high-school already. When was I a teen? In the 1980's 😄I'm teaching my students this for years already. Definitely don't call it Jennifer's rule of thirds, since I only came across this video just now. I was watching your Luminance vs Lightfast video where you mention it and wonder why you called it this way. Many teachers have been teaching this for decades and no one ever layed a claim on the technique. Welcome to the age of TH-cam. It's a great technique, that's for sure and works with all kinds of mediums, not just colored pencils.
    You can definitely get light layers without a sharp point, you just have to hold the pencil more to the back and use the side of the point. It's way more easy to get light layers that way and when a couple are down, use a sharp point to fill those white spots.

    Thank you Jennifer,, our of many of the blending videos on You Tube, yours is most simple to follow and so well explained with three such good examples. So much care and pre planning too! x

    Thanks for pointing me to this page. I will definitely give this a try. What do you say about using one color and laying it down in different gradients? Do you get the same effect? Like a dark blue, starting with lightest, more pressure or more layer to get middle color and finally more layers to get the darkest blue.

      +Francine D, ooooo that sounds pretty! Give it a try! I'm experimenting with layering in greys lately...so pretty!

  • @scapegoat3479

    Are the colours meant to actually mix together or just sit on top of each other?

    I wish your mention of the worksheet in the video had mentioned it requires premium subscription, disappointed with this point. The rest of the content is great.

    • @loris9464
      @loris9464 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was disappointed as well. However, all the information and forms found in the subscription are available online for free. I had just started watching her videos but will subscribe elsewhere after this. All this information is found elsewhere as well and their videos don't have all the chatter and far better methods and results.
