Relationships broke down in patriarchal societies as well. There should never be a boss because it creates imbalance and allows for bullying and spousal abuse. It also puts pressure on a man. Each person should being their strengths to a relationship. I am very surprised at this woman to make such a statement who is an influential figure but if that works in her marriage so well and good but it must not be advocated for everybody. The interviewer asked about why people are not better at relationships . .? I was walking with some people and they were carrying on and on about how a community Doctor was busted with a mistress , . I broke in and said- All of you are carrying on as if adultry was just discovered. It has been going on for e v e r and people still react as if it was a newly invented crime. It has been going on a n d accepted/condemned for all this time, with equal fervor.
    Collectivelly, people have evolved regarding wrong/right. Individually however, people still try to get away with the s a m e o l d things. , and do! Just not so much.

      Her father was voted off the board of the co that bore his name. There was a time when he struggled very much financially. Don’t make assumptions just because of the name. And it’s not necessarily easily. And she suffered from all sorts of emotional problems...stage fright, manic depression, anxiety, that all lead to huge mountains she had to climb

    No spiritual being willingly gives up choice and freedom unless theyre abused and forced, mentally ill, or indoctrinated under threat of social attack. Masochism and the denial of your autonomy is only attractive to the self-righteous or mentally deranged. If you can't harmonize and function in equal respect and love for each other don't get married.

      Miranda Spencer I noticed it too. Yes she is. but I saw earlier interviews with him and he looked "handsome". Don't guess they would call him that so much as his obviously hereditary "male pattern baldness" seems to have started early for him. But they both sing with her as well as on their own. couldn't they just refer to them as very talented? Or beautiful offsprings? I mean, it makes Sally sound brainless, and Ben sound ugly to put it that way. it's like huh?

    • @vitabricksnailslime8273
      @vitabricksnailslime8273 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well I think Miranda, that if you think you can accurately judge peoples long term relationships by a couple of adjectives, then you're doomed to be forever passing superficial judgements. Ever heard of the term "triggered"?

    It's interesting to me, if a father said in an interview my children are not happy unless I am happy, that would be considered shameful and incredibly self-centered. Yet Carly Simon says it like a badge of honor. Hmm, no wonder James Taylor wanted very little to do with her after their divorce.

    • @tonytawa9065

      Although it came out grammatically awkward, I think what she meant was that her mood at a given time was influenced by whether her children were experiencing happiness or difficulties, which is a common parental trait.
