Low Rider ST Trask CheckM8 transmission vent crankcase pressure fix

Install of the Trask checkM8 vented transmission cover on my 2023 Low Rider ST. Also swapped out the stock hardware for ARP bolts.

The Harley-Davidson M8 engine is plagued with excessive oil consumption and blow-by. The Trask Performance CheckM8 vented transmission top cover fixes most of these issues by using a one-way Boyesen valve to bleed off excess crankcase pressure whilst keeping oil/air mist in the cam chest, allowing the oil pump to work more efficiently. This will reduce the oil exiting from the head breathers and free up engine power by allowing easier revving.

Good job , excellent vent, excellent bike. I have a regular LRS '23 in black with a TBR exhaust. Pretty bad we buy an almost 25 grand bike and we have to worry about this nonsense. I'm going to go the Trask route as well. I hope this is all we need. Some say we should also install DK Custom external breather. This is all new to me, since I ride a Z900 andZ900RS. The LRS is really cool, but I hope it's worth the BS.

Appreciate the comments, I’m going to be doing external head breathers down the line now that I have the S&S stealth setup and I’m going to do something pretty trick and delete my charcoal canister and use those factory lines to breath the head

I have a 2023 LRST and my throttle body does not show one drop of any excessive oil blowby and I also heard the '22 and up LRS/LRST crankcase breather has been resolve, so I not sure the reason for installing this on your LRS? Maybe, you have a purpose that I do not understand--thanks for sharing

I did it just for a piece of mind and plan to build the motor in the next year, there are a few parts on these m8s that should just be changed because Harley cheaped out

Is it crutial to use ARP fastners or can i use the factory ones

You definitely do not need to use ARP, I just have been slowly swapping out all of my hardware and was a good time for me to do it.
