What is that starter motor ? I need one with the solenoid on top like that. Would be nice to trade the elevator music for some engine music at the end ?
Greetings from Ecuador, I am in the process of repowering an engine with the same characteristics. Maybe you could share with me how much power it had as a result after these modifications I will be very grateful.
@@calebfuller4713 You can literally throw thousands at a Toyota 4K and it will still be gutless. They have small port heads that arn't even cross flow. F-1 engines are designed to turn near 20,000 rpm a 4k maybe 7,000 before you float a valve into a piston 😂
@@jonog5632 It is ALL about HP when you are claiming you have a "RACE" engine. With stock valve springs there is no way a 4k is going to rev to 8 or 9 thousand rpm without extreme piston destroying valve float. You might get that out of a 4age which is both overhead cam and crossflow but never a 4k which is push rod counter flow and has tiny intake ports. I would not feel comfortable pushing my 3tc to 9 thousand rpm and they are twice the engine 4k's are. Don't believe me.....watch the crazy Puerto Ricans drag racing 3tc engines in Toyota Starlets.
@@JDWard-Jeepster ok well my 4k had double valve springs made by trd. An cam was stage 6. Had high compression an porting an a 1500cortina weber carb. Extractors good exhaust setup.... Good ignition set up. An had close ratio gearbox from a rally car. But ughhh your all good mate the old 4k arguments nothing new to me. All comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. I choose 4k 5k etc for a sound rather my starlet sound like a lumped up old classic than a worked honda or something.. Cause thats the sound you get from a 4age.

Years ago trd catalog listed certain motor mounts that had the motor more upright in the engine bay

It all depends on the class you're racing in. You know current F1 cars are only 1.6 litre engines, right? Maybe this is for a sub-1300cc class?

@@JDWard-Jeepster seen 4ks rev to 9. I had one that reved to 8 happy.. Awsome little engines. Its not all about big hp etc.

Just be aware powerful K engines are a dog to drive on the street
There’s is only 2 ways they can drive . Flat out or conk out p
