  • In the midst of several video projects and unrelated work for my job, I finally got around to working on the Q&A response video. After several days and nights of working on nothing but this video in a short amount of time, I eventually uploaded the finished product just less than a week after the submission deadline. I hope I was able to answer all of your questions well, and I thank you for all of your support over the years.

Update on the SD70MACs, they were all supposed to be gone 2 weeks ago with only 1 left but now 4 more have been removed from the deadlines, so they could possibly be re-entering service, just not as much as they were before. 5 are currently active- 9570, 9661, 9712, 9731 & 9780, as well as H2 MAC 9955.

As a Railfan, I can definitely appreciated thaf you answered my question, also how did Amtrak STOP running Northeast Regional with Sleeper cars, Second question you answer is pretty reasonable, also the Third question is pretty accurate answer but what I meant is when Dreamstar train ENTERS electrified territory between SF-SJ after LA and then could *Engine swap, and maybe for future use of going tunnel to Transbay transit center.

I've thought about the ideas of changing the Sunset Limited. My idea was the NOLA-San Antonio Segment into the twice daily Acadian. If the Texas Eagle then splits between Monterrey or Mexico City, you could still keep the Sunset Limited name as the name of the Acadian + Texas Eagle parts that continue to LA

14:22 Y’know, good call on the battery thing. As for the SPV comparison I made, I wasn’t necessarily thinking they’d use the same motors, mind - just when I said “SPV-styled,” that I meant in cab and interior configurations and such.
As for the Pop-Up Metro thing: OH yes, they VERY much should.

Thank you for answering my questions, they're have been proposals of Amtrak bringing back service from San Antonio to Laredo right by the US/Mexico border as a corridor service but unfortunately it make it to the FRA's corridor ID program, if that corridor service did make it to the program we could've essentially easily connected that service to CPKC's potential Mexico City- Nuevo Laredo service( just right by Laredo, Texas on the other side of the border) and would've been a one side ride from Texas all the way down to Mexico's capital city since both Amtrak and CPKC are really good partners but I degress, if CPKC'S proposed regional and long distance intercity rail services in Mexico is successful, they could potentially expand their intercity rail service all across their system ( in both US and Canada), but that's just my hopeful thinking, but hey anything is possible as some people would say

25:20 I strongly agree with the Pacific Coast Extension being a new route for CPKC! And yes I also agree with not using the electrification. There are many other fuel types our favorite railroads have been testing as of recent but either way if it were still around today, I think this would be a very profitable route for CPKC and as an access point for the Pacific Northwest to compete with BNSF and UP (although the Canada transcontinental mainline would be somewhat parallel to this route, I still believe it would be beneficial for US traffic)!
