I really want someone to to do a deep analysis of how this scene is perfectly blocked and shot. It's exceptionally written and creates a real since of friendly tension, and breaks all of our hearts all at the same time. When Lenny leans in whilst she leans out--ugh. I love this scene so much. Also not sure if I'm screaming at Midge to run or begging them to give this to us. I think they'd be a bit disastrous...but I'm not sure.
When Lenny is staring out in the end, I believe it’s more than being rejected how some people have said. I interpreted it as him being alone. He’s alone, and us knowing his drug addiction he has a troubled past. Maybe I’m reading too into it, but that’s what I interpreted it as 🤷♀️
I loved the bit on the TV show where he asked if she was his wife or sister. Almost asking whether she likes him as a friend or if it’s deeper than that
Do you think lenny will die? Or something bad is gonna happen? At the end of this scene he says "maybe someday before I'm dead". At first it seems like a joke you know? But at the end of the new season, when midge is going to the restroom to clean up after their "date". She finds a bag with medicine in the restroom and looks worried, then lenny comes in and as midge tries to ask him about it he keeps saying "I'm fine, don't worry" 😭😭😭. Now idk what to think!
@@wiwisuperfan Lenny Bruce was a real life comic. He died in overdose, in 1966. If the creators making a time jump in season 5, his death will probably the part of the story and how Midge dealing with her grief.
The way he looks just devastated by her apparent "rejection" in the last shot...you can tell he's completely in love with her and did not just want to get her into the sack
ohmygod i want these two together but somehing tells me this kond of relationship would only be fleeting.. it would be an epic love story -but it would be fleeting. A girl like her would probably need someone like Benjamin.. stable, pure and sefless(maybe)..
That tension and awkwardness when they stood by the door starring inside his appartment is so sad and painful to watch ;/ I have a hard time guessing if she wanted to go into his appartment and changed her mind last minute or she never wanted to, but didn't want to hurt his feelings when he made his intentions clear.
She wanted to go in. She DESPERATELY wanted to go in and "submit" to Lenny. Very much so. The pain she was feeling, she still completely loves her husband (well, ex-husband.) That is the conflict and it was perfectly dramatized.

I absolutely love her with benny and it breaks my heart that they probably won´t get together, but knowing his real life story and also just the caracter they sadly wouldn´t last. So I ship her with Benjamin cause I think they are also great together and could actually work.

The one fell off , the one for her ? And then he said "bfr i'm dead" I think he'll die in s5 . This is all what I thought abt while watching this scene Bfr I knew anything abt lenny bruce's real story and how he died from an over dose , even when I watched the last ep when she found morphin in his bathroom I was like yep that's it , I didn't know it was drugs at the time I thought it was some medicine for some illness and I was like yes he is totally gonna die . And then I came to TH-cam to rewatch their scenes only to read in the comments abt the real bruce lenny's tragic story ! . So sad
I love them together and i know its not historically correct cant believe the police killed Lenny Bruce because all he wanted to do was tell jokes even Lenny daughter has said the police killed her father
