Fully support this. Dude isn't trying to be anything he's not, it feels like the cool teacher classroom watching his videos, I've learned so much from him on stuff I thought I'd never care about, and the dude just has a vibe you can't hate.
Eh it's fine with me the way you did it in this video. It depends on what you want (flashy TV style or more laid back). Looking forward to the other episodes!
How fun and accommodating of you to include us Canadians, with the border being closed and all, I'm missing visiting down there, so I welcome this entertainment!!
Nice to know there's plenty other total geography geeks out there besides myself. I'm not alone! Loving this March Madness! Never understood it with the sports because not interested enough in sports to pay attention long enough so this is great! Thanks, GeoKing!
great idea, but you need to settle on 64 countries, I suppose you could get away with 128. but if you want all nations then you would have to include some sort of semiautomous regions to reach 256, and I'm not which to to include and not include
Not sure if you considered this but American Samoa is in the Southern Hemisphere which means that the "winter" is actually from June to September. But either way awesome video keep the good content coming!
What us in America call winter as in Dec Jan Feb, in the southern hemisphere do they call those months winter or do they call those months summer? Do they consider winter to be the hottest time of the year?
Don't take this the wrong way (precedes every phrase that is taken the wrong way)....but this is next level dorkdom that I hope to achieve one day. Fun video. See, that wasn't so bad.
Every time I see a new one of these, it feels like Christmas morning. You're making a strong push to become my favorite TH-cam channel. "Some More News" better not let you pass them.
Am I the only one that wants a season two regardless of When? Also this give me inspiration for my own series like this so thanks and keep up the good work on the channel.
This is fantastic...shaking the bowl up while holding it over your head , picking the number and showing us it ...priceless ...I love this game ...loved when the kayaking category came up ...made me think of my categories..best pinball, number of drive-in movies per capita, crispest chicken fried steak , etc...well done Kyle ..This is gonna be fun ..!!
Man, there are sixty-EIGHT teams in March Madness. 60 get seeded into the four regions, and the last eight play one-on-one play-in games for the last four spots, with the four lowest auto-bids competing for the last two 16-seeds, and the four lowest at-larges competing for (usually) the last two 11s. Wish you could have done something similar but as always, great video! I never miss an upload and they're always great, man. Keep it up.
With all the crazy political elements that normally come with geography, I'm going to greatly enjoy turning my brain off and listening to straight up geography nerd stuff for awhile. Not that the crazy political stuff isn't important, it just gets tiring.
This was such a good idea! Not sure which state/territory to root for yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. It may be super nerdy, but as someone who used to draw maps as a kid, I'm totally into it.
This idea is great! There is a bit too much fluff between choosing the numbers and the "cut" to research. Love this content and it's cool to see the extra territories added!
Absolutely ingenious idea, Kyle. You continue to astound and amaze me in your unrivaled quality of content as well as your incredible knowledge. Do you have a Patreon? I'm sure I'd be far from the only person to be willing to support you for this type of content.
I hope we get a little more of the facts as it narrows. Also, perhaps the Final Four and Championship rounds can be more than 3 out of 5? Make 'em work for those wins! Looking forward to all of this!
This is the nerdiest video I have ever watched on TH-cam... I loved it. Keep it up. P.S. the Mariana Islands got lucky that it was Windtalkers vs Weekend at Bernies 2 and not Weekend at Bernies 1 because that one was actually good.
For “best winter climate”, American Samoa is in the Southern Hemisphere, so July would be their winter (and their dry season). I have never been to either place, but the Northern Mariana Islands seems a little drier in their winters, and that is what you picked.
This is fantastic! Like I said I’m a real geography wonk and so I find this stuff endlessly fascinating. BTW I think I said this in a prior post but in 7th grade our geography teacher called the ‘interrupted’ map an ‘orange peel’ because it was like when you peeled an orange and laid it flat that is what you’d get. Turns out with respect to landmass it’s about as accurate as you get.
This episode has already got me excited about watching future matchups and disappointed about losses (hafa Adai, Guam!). I might feel a little sheepish trying to explain my fervor to non -GK people, though....
Hafa Adai! He didn't mention any of the hiking or SCUBA diving in Guam, I was a little disappointed there. I think he did his research into paddling for the 2 islands and based his later outdoor category on that alone :(.
It's awesome that we can route for our home state or favorite place! Like this a lot. I'll be routing for New York, my homestate as I love the upstate region/ADK region. Also pulling for underdog NH and Vermont.
I’d say that’s wrong. Maybe four of these will make it but if you think all of those will make it you haven’t watched the full video to see the concept. The categories are diverse enough to where any of those could lose easily.
ill take a guess at mine after going through the questions and bracket... CA, GA, VA, ON, WA, BC, QC, CO. i have NC and NY losing really close against BC and VA respectively
Just looking at the bracket at 1:00 I think my home province of Ontario should get to the round of 8, and lose to New York. Can't wait to see how it plays out!
I don’t know about you guys but I think Montana and PEI are going to have surprise Sweet 16 runs. I also think Connecticut and New Jersey are going to get curb stomped in the first round, because of course they will.
If it's not a huge drag, maybe when comparing some statistical facts you could read the numbers so we can see how big of a difference is. Loving this idea!!!
This year's Cinderella story: Geography King becomes #1 entertainer on TH-cam.
He has that going for him, which is nice
Fully support this. Dude isn't trying to be anything he's not, it feels like the cool teacher classroom watching his videos, I've learned so much from him on stuff I thought I'd never care about, and the dude just has a vibe you can't hate.
For sure. This channel is so underrated
There must be a lot of effort going into this video and future ones of this series. Keep up the great work, King!
Figures that the Virgin Islands wouldn't do well with question 69.
Underrated comment

I was thinking much the same thing b

Best comment in a long time
Instead of saying “I’m going to look it up.” Say, “and the winner is!” Adds tension and give it a game-show feel

Oh my word... this is the nerdiest thing ever. I will be watching every round XD

when march madness is over, do this with countries.
Or N. American cities
great idea, but you need to settle on 64 countries, I suppose you could get away with 128. but if you want all nations then you would have to include some sort of semiautomous regions to reach 256, and I'm not which to to include and not include
Split the countries into conferences based on continents. Then make decisions on who goes to the 64 based on their performances
@@TheEndPermian yea that would work

Always good to see a Geography Sports video every now and then
We are all blessed to have found this gem of a channel.
The best channel , underrated TH-cam gold

Love it! I can finally follow a March Madness I genuinely care about!
This is a genius idea. You're really good at keeping this channel interesting.
What a fantastic & entertaining way to learn facts about these Canadian & American locales. Well done (yet again)!
This is such a cool way to have a Geography-based bracket! I'm so much looking forward to this for the next month!
For future tournament coverage, can you put a graphic up with actual numbers... for example, what is the crime rate in the Virgin Islands?
Like you did to compare the territories’ flags
The crime rate in the Virgin Islands is 12.
This is absolutely an incredible idea Kyle!
Can’t wait to follow along.
My elite eight:
California vs. Alaska
Hawaii vs. Ontario
Oregon vs. North Carolina
Alberta vs. Colorado
Nice!
I hope Colorado doesn’t get shot down by Idaho in the first round

California Vs South Carolina
New York Vs Ontario
Washington Vs North Carolina
Florida Vs Pennsylvania
