I really like this series, but one suggestion I would have is to put more of the statistic numbers on the screen when you say the winner like you did with the GDP per capita for Arizona and Saskatchewan. I think that's a nice touch, kind of like seeing the score board in a way.
Is it possible to show a knockout map at some point in the episode to show winners in green and losers in red to get an overall picture of how things are going regionally

OMG I am now so addicted I can't wait for next one plus I quickly found your first intro video for this. So glad I didn't stupidly skip this. By the way I love Montana and was born in Hawaii so pulling for a Montana Hawaii final!!!!
My mom and I filled out our bracket and I couldn't wait to see this tonight! We got similar results for the first round with a few surprises. Thanks for taking the time and effort to come up with this. It's a lot of fun and entertaining for us geography nerds!
Only downside to this entire concept is that you can only really do it once every 10 years, as states/provinces/territories will need that time to make changes and kmprove

Considering how many cars I start seeing around Arizona with Saskatchewan plates by mid fall I think many of them would beg to differ which place has a better fall climate.
I would consider Arizona to have a better fall climate than Saskatchewan. (I am not from either place.) SK is nicer in September, but chilly in October and early November and brutal afterwards. But it was GK’s call and not mine. 😎

Maryland v. West Virginia was the most intense thing I've seen in a while. Only two states/provinces facing off against each other that genuinely have strong feelings of animosity between. Very fun to see my home state Maryland win it in the end 3-2.
At first I was a little skeptical about how this would work but the structure of this actually does an amazing job of replicating March Madness. Higher seeds have somewhat of an advantage, especially if the spread is big, but there's always the chance for an upset. Thank you Kyle this is awesome!
We just found this series and I think it's really fun that you came up with a system of pitting states against each other in March Madness style. So enjoyable! I watch your videos regularly.
Love the rolling hills and sunsets in Iowa and as an Illinois resident... Iowa has the absolute best casinos and most of all gas stations! Kum&Go all the way!!!
Kyle, you have so inspired me with this series! In a similar vein, I have created a global cities bracket that just released to TH-cam. You are a legend.
Also, if they get stuck on a city day trip question against ON, NY, TX, CA, etc. they could lose out as well. But yes, MN can be a dark horse for sure, since they are relatively small, yet not the worst place, at least for most people.

I dont know about that fall weather Arizona vs Saskatchewan... it can snow as early as mid-October. Though you are right about daytime temperatures in Arizona. I imagine the nights are very nice.
Arizona has the Little Colorado River, Havasu City, Lake Powell, the Gila River, and Santa Cruz River among its waterways! Funny you were at Yuma Proving Grounds and didn't notice Laguna Dam right there.
Grew up in MN. Living in NM now. I was kinda torn for that matchup. Though I do think NM is better for an outdoor weekend. The mountains here are absolutely beautiful.
I love this series so much! My province BC hasn't come up yet but we have city and nature, so I feel pretty good with the categories! I can't wait for the next episode
We’re vs Mississippi. BC has great chances. We’ve got higher mountains, more food production, more water, scenery, canoeing... don’t know much about Mississippi, but we got this!!!

I live about an hour south of the boundary waters canoe area in Minnesota, and I can say with absolute certainty that it is the greatest place in the United States to do any kayaking or canoeing. I have been there five times and it is absolute serenity. Can’t wait for you to visit if you have not been. PS. Great video idea

@@GeographyKing my father and I were supposed to go last summer, but it’s a good thing we didn’t because due to everyone having so much free time it was overrun with tourists. A good rule of thumb I always use is to try and trek at least five lakes deep or five portages deep. I try to keep at least one of the portages at least 150 - 200 rods just to scare off the new paddlers.
This is how people from outside of North America want to learn about North American geography. From a nice decent bloke with excellent knowledge and experience that always checks his stats.

I know I'm fairly late, but this was riveting. My heart nearly skipped a beat when it looked as though my home state of Maryland would lose to West Virginia. That would be disgraceful.
I wanted to have a few "equalizer" categories to give smaller states and provinces a chance. If this were anything other than fun I'd certainly not put any weight in most of the higher numbers.
You have the Grand Canyon in AZ. Not exactly a neat fit for rivers and beach against Saskatchewan, but I am surprised it wasn't mentioned. Another missed mention was Lakes Mead, Pyramid, and Tahoe in NV against Kentucky in the fishing category. Maybe wouldn't change the outcome, but they might sway it.
I love this series but c'mon man did you literally forget that the Grand Canyon in Arizona was carved by the Colorado River? You said there was no water over there.
MN has as you say canoeing but also fishing and ice fishing,hiking trails, cross country and down hill skiing ( some of the top American skiers are from MN) ice hockey and ice skating.
From a resident of Hawaii and previously Michigan, winter climate in Hawaii sucks. Its windy, ocean conditions are terrible, and the rain is crazy so you really cant do anything with the mountains and ocean being dangerous in winter. Michigans winter climate is decent although i wish there was a more permanent winter snow instead of a snow melt cycle in most of the southern state.

Lived on the North Shore for 6 months over one winter. The power of the ocean was awesome.
