Way too much emphasis on American based equipment.
The British started it and we also have European brands. The American stuff appeared later.

It's because that's what the vast number of people have opted to keep/renovate/run, James. Can only video what's there

@@truckinwithkermie2755 AEC and Leyland came up with our first road trains. Of course I expect the much more capable American based stuff from later on to dominate as there just isn't much of the British stuff left. There are pockets out there though. Lots in the UK.

Interesting point raised tho. I think parts still widely available for older American trucks plus the fact everyone thats stumping up the cash for restorations loves them. It's way easier to search out a door for your k100 than it is to find one for an old aec, g88 volvo, 141 Scania etc.

@@fredjones9750 American derived trucks have become part of Aussie trucking culture for a long time now and have proven very suited to our conditions with a lot of Aussie input.
Personally while I do appreciate classic American rigs and what they've done for the country, their success has made them ubiquitous and I find British trucks steeped in character and want to see more of them as up to the 60s, they were doing the heavy lifting - as best they could. We can't erase that.
PS I also love Mercedes V series and Scanias from the 80s which were a big part of our scene.

@@jamesfrench7299 british trucks are ultimately the same as British cars. Steeped in character as you say but really they were shit. I'm in nz so we got the ERFS, Fodens, S26 scammells in the 80s that australia never got. These were ok but nothing special. How about buying an old v series benz and doing a resto on it? I drove them. They were bloody awful.
