My first drive of a Mack Anthem. A trip from Brisbane to Sydney gave me plenty of time to become aquainted with the truck and its updated driveline. Here is a video of the drive and an interview with Volvo Australia's Matt Wood undertaken along the way.

Once again, Alexandra, Vic. put on a stunning display of some 330 trucks. An estimated crowd of 15,000 attended to show their appreciation of the industry. Rosco joined a contingent of three to bring his Mack Superliner from Tasmania to the mainland, to attend the Mack Muster at Kyabram, Victoria. Proving that age is no barrier, 89 year old Rosco rebuilt his pride and joy from the ground up. Check out his paintwork of this superb example - done outdoors because his good lady wife has drawn a line at having another shed.

Fantastic truck - like all of the Cornwill's gear.
First time up the Hume would have been in 1962 with folks in am FJ. Then in 1969 with about half a dozen of us in a clapped out HD to see Hair the musical in Sydney. My mother and her brother and sister did it in the 1920s in an Austin 7!
My first trip was in '72 as a 20yo. It was ordinary then. Can only imagine what the 1920's must have been like.

American here, I met him at the 2024 Mid American Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky with his son he was a laid back man we talked about his first show “Mega Truckers” when he had the original HAA and he did say he was back to having a fleet of trucks. I had a great few minutes with him when we talked. Great time

Thanks for the video, Kermie. This is a great bit of gear and has given me a few ideas for mine. My prediction with Andrew is after he's put a few miles on this, he will never want to sit in any of his other trucks again. These things are that good.

Wouldn’t you prefer to have an 18speed? I’m so impressed by Mack’s numbers. Most powerful engines in conventional trucks ever on paper. I’m curious to see how they go in our harsh Aussie conditions
These trucks take away all of the skills that we where tought when we were young and could drive cameras and sensors everywhere in my opinion they’re fucken junk 🖕🏻💩🐪

What i would like to know is are the Anthem giving a better ride than the Tridents , i have been told by Mack that they have done some work on the Anthem to improve the ride , may need to get on some victorian roads too find out , thanks Kermie 👍
@gregfarnsworth5011 Hi Greg. I found the ride terrific on the run from Brissie to Sydney. Vic roads aren't any worse that NSW's I reckon. Both crap! Rhoda thought Qld could do it better lol

Well Dave, this video is about a particular KW, not a truck show. That said, you'll find that most truck shows - certainly the ones I attend (apart from ATHS) - are top heavy with the Kenworth brand.
Some great looking rigs there, big thumbs up to all the drivers who brought their trucks. I know how much effort they put in ontop of their normal work as the big Scania wrecker was on a job the day before he made the trek from Canberra.
