Also we did talk with SXTH about reusing the stock shroud. The testing they did showed immense improvement in cooling and they feel that the OEM shroud will not make a substantial difference with the upgraded intercooler. We'll report back next summer when temps are high on track!
You can easily modify it with a dremel to fit. That curved in portion towards the inside of it looks like is what needs to be removed with that. Maybe buy a new oem shroud and use one as a test dummy. Regardless of testing, that shroud for sure has its own help and gains towards that intercooler. On top of keeping the front bumper rigidity.
What are y’all’s thoughts on putting a wide body kit on the Elantra N I’ve been thinking about it but not sure if I should just wait longer till they come out with more options
I learned the hard way that the front and rear red trim is removable however it's both clips and screwed in. it's about 10 screws to remove. and the clips are not easy to undo. the side skirts are all one piece however.

That was a toad, usually frogs are green and live in or right next to water. Toads are brownish and usually come out at night to feed, not very close to water.
Larger intercoolers are a supporting mod upgrade when raising boost you won't see or feel much power gains on the current boost level unless you push it had where TB intake air temps increase and it will only maintain temperature better . Ps painting them black has been proven on dynos to make them more efficient than bare aluminium .
Absolutely correct with the ducting they carefully engineered that to be as efficient as possible the only advantage you're getting with the SXTH is getting more power but the stock is more aerodynamic and more efficient. for tracking I would say just go back to stock since it is actually huge IC or have SXTH element make a proper shrouding. that's always been my problem with sixth they sell quality parts but not well engineered parts. they Copied the Wagner tuning design but the difference is Wagner always includes Ducting
Dude i hate dealing with the plastic snaps! Maybe im just not use to working on brand new cars but one snap always breaks when u are popping them lose. When he was popping the bumper off i was gritting my teeth the whole time lol

I've talked to Nathan. Octane learning ceases to function on a sxth tuned car, boost remains consistent. It appears it does still make a difference on a stock tune vehicle (or one using a piggyback).
Careful of those bumper mounting brackets they're cheap as shit and break easily. I had a couple broken from factory. Currently doing a warranty claim. So annoying. Might even just weld them back together
We buy a lot of parts from SXTH element, they do a lot of work for the Korean crowd! You can use pattyboi as a coupon to save some money if you do eventually buy some stuff

Are you at all worried with modifying the car that it might cause problems with the motor? Or do you feel that the Elantran N is a well built car and can handle the extra stress from the mods?
I'm sure you could max out the efficiency of the oem turbo without causing major harm. It comes down to a QUALITY tune, and diligent maintenence, particularly oil changes and an oil catch can to keep the intake valves clean. If you go big turbo and push torque near 400ft/lb, yeah you're going to stress the stock rods and run into problems prematurely. If you're not looking for issues, just tune the car for an extra 20ish hp, and leave well enough alone.

I just got my car back after the intercooler install and I notice that the turbo whine/whistle is a lot more prevalent now. Did this happen for you as well?
This intercooler works well. Stock iat with factory intercooler were 30 degrees higher with this one. It was 55 degrees outside. Inlet air temp with new intercooler Same. And car feels a little bit quicker I’m happy with it

Intercooler keep charge air cool. I don't think the intention of a larger intercooler is to keep oil cool on track..
