  • In this Rare Cars documentary, we delve into the specs and details of five rare and relatively unknown American V8 wagons, each with its own fascinating story.
Some of these wagons are truly impressive, featuring unique elements like one-year-only big block engines and 4-speed postreaction rear sport wagons. These are some of America’s greatest hits in wagon form.

Cha-velle, I love it. Had a friend who built a 1969 Plymouth wagon from a wrecked GTX. It had Bucket seats, console, four speed stick with a 440. and
magnum 500 wheels. THAT was a wagon !

If you liked Cha-velle, you must have loved Boo-ick.

The four speed Mopar wagons only came with the 383 engine

Wow , I've never saw a 454 SS Wagon, What a sleeper, Bet this car has burned a bunch of folks. The Nomad is just flat out gorgeous, if I was to hit the lottery the first car I'd be looking for would be a Nomad.

By 1973 the Chevrolet 454 had all its fangs removed and was pretty much a slug. It was faster than the 350, but that was also a slug by then. It was an interesting thought, but the 1957 Nomad was a much sportier car even with the trouble-prone mechanical fuel-injection. All 1973 cars were mere shadows of their former selves. Even names like GTO, 442, and Cobra were just badges stuck onto bland, slow cars.

The clickbait picture is of a 1954 Chevrolet, which never had a V8. It got one right in that the 1957 Chevrolet with a fuel-injected 283 V8 had one horsepower per cubic inch - a kind of unattainable goal at the time. It was certainly a muscle car by Fifties standards. "Booick" kind of says it all. Do the nimrods who create these AI wonders ever watch them before they post them?
