Jill I have two suggestions. Wet the baking tray and the parchment will stick to it . Secondly, trying to grind the dates raw is difficult for the most powerful food processor or blender . I par boil my dates to make a smooth paste whenever I'm making my oat bars to avoid damaging my food processor or blender motor .The parboiling adds moisture to the final product so it holds together and doesn't crumble into a mess . Mr. Rogers would be honored he had such a positive influence on generations of people .
The day called for a healthy dessert and I found these magic cookie bars!!! So simple to make - I used the pecans, shredded vegan chocolate chips and coconut flakes!! They were soooo good! Reminded me of a chocolate custard-like flavor!!!! Thank you, Jill!!! ❤
I just made it! Delicious! I added half a baby carrot for the vitamin A, a B12 tablet (because it’s a great way for vegans to take their B12), and orange zest for the flavor and aroma! Also, about a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds for the lignans and omega-3s. You guys - it’s so good! You’ll love it!
@@oqeox I threw the B12, orange zest, and ground flaxseeds it in the Vitamix when I was was preparing the crust. I added the baby carrot to the wet topping.

50 going to be 51 next month. I grew up with Mr. Rodger. As an introvert. I enjoyed the slow and intentional moments. Where I could really remain calm to absorb all of his messages of the day! Too much crazy shows now. Everything gotta be fast with drama. Thank you and Mr. Rodger for letting us get back to serenity and reflection.
Love your dedication. I loved Mister Rogers too. He was my adopted dad, because my real one was not a good person. Thank you for dedicating this show to him!
I'm not so called plant based and I'm excited to try this recipe. I want to bring them to family gatherings at family members houses whom are plant based. I also want them for myself to be more healthy and to share with someone I know challenged with managing eating habits who also has PCOS.
I tried making these and feel they need more moisture in bottom "crust". They are falling apart. I think this could be achieved by either soaking the dates, using majool dates or adding a bit of coconut oil to the crust. I'm not sure I can fix the batch I made and don't think anyone else will eat them. I used Lilly's chocolate chips just because I didn't want to wait to make them. Its possible I was heavy handed with the oatmeal but I don't really think I was.
@@scienceislove2014 yes it tastes good. I also didn't have Bragg's aminos and used salt. Just is dry and the dates didn't incorporate well enough. I only ate one so far.
Just made them. Do not know how the original cookies taste. Never had them But these are FABULOUS. Perfect in every way. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you Jill!! You are changing lives for the better more than you would ever know..
We don't have Magic Cookies in Australia, and it's hard to get pecans, so I played around with the recipe. I subbed half the water for frozen raspberries, and topped with walnuts and flaked almonds. Absolutely delicious. I never used to eat sweet foods, but Jill's wonderful recipes have converted me.
