Jill I have two suggestions. Wet the baking tray and the parchment will stick to it . Secondly, trying to grind the dates raw is difficult for the most powerful food processor or blender . I par boil my dates to make a smooth paste whenever I'm making my oat bars to avoid damaging my food processor or blender motor .The parboiling adds moisture to the final product so it holds together and doesn't crumble into a mess . Mr. Rogers would be honored he had such a positive influence on generations of people .

The day called for a healthy dessert and I found these magic cookie bars!!! So simple to make - I used the pecans, shredded vegan chocolate chips and coconut flakes!! They were soooo good! Reminded me of a chocolate custard-like flavor!!!! Thank you, Jill!!! ❤

I just made it! Delicious! I added half a baby carrot for the vitamin A, a B12 tablet (because it’s a great way for vegans to take their B12), and orange zest for the flavor and aroma! Also, about a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds for the lignans and omega-3s. You guys - it’s so good! You’ll love it!

50 going to be 51 next month. I grew up with Mr. Rodger. As an introvert. I enjoyed the slow and intentional moments. Where I could really remain calm to absorb all of his messages of the day! I tried making these and feel they need more moisture in bottom "crust". They are falling apart. I think this could be achieved by either soaking the dates, using majool dates or adding a bit of coconut oil to the crust. I'm not sure I can fix the batch I made and don't think anyone else will eat them. I used Lilly's chocolate chips just because I didn't want to wait to make them. Its possible I was heavy handed with the oatmeal but I don't really think I was.

Why you dont use Soy Milk or Almond Milk instead of water in this recipe?
(Whereas you use Milk in Pecan Pie Bars for example...)
It could be even more creamy no?
And more Dates like Pecan Pie Bars too?
I used my 8x8 square pan it looks good but for baking maybe a little less time?
(As they were golden brown at 30min or so no need 35 obviously but you used a 9x9 in video thzt explains why?)

Using almond or soy milk will work but it isn’t necessary. My recipes are definitely alterable according to your individual taste/ if you want it a little sweeter or more decadent

Looks just a treat. I will be using pecans and a little walnuts. Some prunes with the dates. A little lemon and banana. PLEASE TRY BANANA AND PURE HALF A LEMON - honestly really yummy cos the sweetness from the banana really dampens the bitter or sourness. I have a really sweet tooth and just happened upon it and really yummy like you won't believe. Back to ingredients will be adding a lot of turmeric cos when cooked can't taste it and acts as a preservative. Let me know if you try the lemon and banana and agree everyone. Yums to all.
