Great video, I love my Outcast. One of the few cars I own that I can take out without any concern of breakage.

I'm not buying anything but Arrma now. For rtr, I've bought many different brands and still own a couple of the best mid-level of TRX and Redcat. Cause that's the stuff I like. Good Rtr vehicles.
Its how I do it for me and I enjoy slowly upgrading my standard rigs.
Over the last few months, I'm interested in buying only from Arrma and the support is growing rapidly for spares. Good spares. I'm in. I'm convinced.
I have two 1:8 blx and a new Big Rock blx 3s on the way... here this week.
This was an excellent video and well done. Diplomatic and aware of the market and players. For Arrma lovers, I think we're falling into a very nice place in the industry and market. These are tough and dependable machines and offer every bit of hobby customization as any in the same league. Arrma tough isn't just a buzz phrase. They're really delivering right now.
I am with you keep xt90s,no avc haven't had any luck with AVC, but would like to try on a 2 wheel drive and keep the same remote. Thank you for all the good info. So far we have a Kraton and Senton. Looking forward to more Arrma's. We don't have any parts in our hobby shops we're I live. US North Coast.. But we haven't needed anything so far.

Definitely on top of my wish list. Just got a almost brand new Nero Big Rock. It’s a fun truck and pretty durable. 7 or 8 runs and not a single breakage. Just some issues with the battery tray.✌️

I love the battery box! I have a v3 Typhon and I can fit a Flourean 5000mah 6 cell in there perfectly! It's like it was meant to be! Plus, HUUUUGGGEEEE run times.

I have or have had over 30 RC cars in my collection and I have not yet bought any Arrma models. It is because of Aussie RC, RC Driver, and Rich Duperbash that I will be adding Arrma to my collection very soon. I plan on getting the Notorious and Kraton for sure. Thank you for bringing us great info in all your videos to help me make my buying decisions.

I have a Kraton on the way! I'm in the U.S. there are a few Arrma dealers around me. All take about an hour maybe hour and a half and I can buy parts online. This will be the nicest RC and the only 1/8 scale I've ever owned. I'm really excited! Hope you like yours and hope everything worked out for you bud!

Well Vas, I also have the stock servo in all 3 of my Arrma's..... I actually own the original Outcast, had it for about 1.5 years.
I think adjusting steering endpoints is the key to making them last. All my Arrma's came with the endpoints way out, to the point it was making the horrible servo buzz when turning both ways.

I really enjoy what Arrma is doing with their product line. Amazing cars and support. I was dissapointed in them leaving the 2wd fury and granite. I owned a fury blx 2wd and loved this sct. Too bad they left it on the shelf. Was the best 2wd sct basher on the market. I would buy one again if they would show support.

Arrmas stock servos are great, ppl just want something to complain about. Arrma has nailed it on just about everything on all of their cars. People that say otherwise are just hard headed. And 500 at a base price!!! Its almost too good to be true

Firstly and foremost, I admire your passion here Vas, and if I may venture some feedback into the world of Arrma here, we went through purgatory where I worried about sourcing consumables, but my lhs is now getting a good stream of parts, and that is who I want to buy them from. Things seem to be getting better than the dark days.
truth is, the outcast and the notorious actually are different besides the body, minor differences yes, but still, they put heavier weight oil in both dampers and the diff cases in the new notorious out of the box, so most of the "bouncy and twitchy" feel that the outcast may have had are now basicly gone =) props to arma for doing that!
I recently brought one and I wanna know can I install lights with the original radio or will I have to upgrade the radio and receiver

I've been debating what to buy for a Bash Truck, been looking at the Arrma Kraton, Notrious, and the Losi LST 3XL-E. I know they're all a little different in how they perform. Race Truck, Stunt Truck, Monster Truck, I just can't seem to decide which route to go. If you could only have one? Which would it be?

Just got back into RC and bought a Rustler 4x4 VXL mainly due to not wanting to drop $500 just getting back in. Well less than a month later and its on Ebay and I just bought the 2019 Notorious in the Black. It looks AWESOME!!! PS: 1st Arrma. Been a Traxxas guy forever. So we shall see what this "Arrma Tough" is all about!!

@@AussieRCPlayground Thanks!! I just finished watching your most recent videos and now Im worried about the radio. What did you replace the STX2 radios with? I found several TTX300 with the TR326 receiver for cheap on Ebay. You think Id be better off with that? Picked up a brand new TTX300 and TR326 for $37. Potential radio issue solved!
@@Custnam yeah, the new STX2 radios are terrible for these cars, but the old Tactics, like the one in this video, are just fine. I use two different radios depending on what receivers I have and they are the DX5C and the Futaba 3PV. I recently got the Futaba 4PM, which is really like, but it is a bit expensive. The 3PV is more than enough for most people. But for a cheap and reliable fix, what you got is just fine.
I just ordered the notorious it was between the notorious or the new Traxxas maxx, but the connectors you mentioned "ec5 connectors" plus the radio "stx2" are both on the updated version of the notorious lol They added a center brace and a few other little hardware upgrades from this model and the outcast. I think mainly because they got so much crap for hyping it up so much to be a huge upgraded outcast haha, them upgrades are what made me go forward with buying the new version of the notorious. Im fairly new in this hobby but i went ahead and ordered a cheap Dumborc x6 radio an from what I've read people love them. I may upgrade the servo if i dont like the function of it to a Ecoboost or something. Everything should be arriving tomorrow, im excited to see how she runs an the durability out of the box! What have you thought about it so far?

Would you recommend buying it? I've hurd that people have problems with them but I don't bash my trucks all that hard maybe a jump or 2 once and a blue moon.

hey. I bought one of these after your Outcast and this video. Funny thing is, I ordered the black one and also received the blue one. But I like the blue as well. The only problem I have I destroyed a servohorn because the screw going through the servosaver was blocking it. I dont know why as I have not done any jumps so far. Well I have to see what I can do against it. Maybe its because it is cold.
I like the Outcast body more but still a great truck. I think the stock servo is good to go

I just bought the notorious in blue. I'm in Canada. Any idea why arrma decided to lose the tower to tower brace on this version? I just purchased one from t bone racing but I'm unsure if I need it on.
This was the V3 spec Notorious, so none of the cars had the T2T brace at this time. That happened when the V4 cars were released.

I mean the servos aren’t awful but I’m my experience ive been through two of them before giving up and upgrading to a 20kg it’s just the little things like that that can truly improve a car
I ordered adapter on new arrma bc we moving i didnt want soder , and sent wrong one lol sucks changed ik duperbash likes ec5 figured i try they nice but vas made good point there not as easy to soder

I'm a novist and I had little cheap 100 dollar rc car and for my second and 3rd car I bought the arrma Kraton 6s and the xmaxx after that all within a month 1/2 and I like the ABC technology and sometimes I like driving without it but I say every car should have it
Good summery about the disepontment on "only new body". As you say the other models Arrma changed not ONLY the body but wheels and tires also. Im as you know one of those that was "a bit" disipointed about that there is only a new body and everything else same. Im not saying there is something wrong with that. But the promotion was a bit "to much" in my opinion for just a new body. With that said, great unbox as usually.
I’m still sad I wanted to get a Nero the one without the diff lockers but the Traxxas issue ☹️

Alot of servo problems with these cars are User error. [ nose landings/crashing while having some steering input will wreck most servos ]
Are you going to shim the differential? Also are you swapping the Differential to 500k? I saw Rich Duperbash saw 20k back 200k mid and 50k front, what is your thoughts? Thanks for awesome content!
I never shimmed my diffs in any of my ARRMA cars, so I won't be doing that. As for oil, I will probably drive it as it is first and see where it's at, then if I want a more aggressive tune, I'll just change the center diff oil to 500k like I did on the OutCast. 😉
I think they’ll swap to Dx2e or whatever spektrum’s better radio. There’s so many brand horizon has I think they’ll start chopping them down.

EC5's are rated for more amps than xt90's, and personally my favorite connectors. Imo

Hey Vas love your channel. I have and race the Typhon. It holds its own against the team associated rc8 and other 8th scale buggies. I have now turned to 1/10 scale four-wheel drive racing. Do you know or have heard if Arma is coming out with a four-wheel-drive 10th scale buggy in the future? I would love to see one because they are great cars. You do have to make them a little bit more race-ready to compete but definitely can be done.
I noticed the new Arrma 3s blx Senton and Granite have Ec5’s. Sucks since I recently switch all mine from TRX to XT90. I basically just buy Arrma these days. I’ll have to solder in xt90’s every time I buy a new one.
Bakerboyzzz RC ya that’s stupid horizon hobbies that caused the EC5 issue I think. Same I still stick with xt90. They are the best connector out there in my option with the anti-spark
longboardguy I agree. They’ve been good for me. Much better than the deans and Traxxas. That’s all I have to compare.
I don't think it makes that much difference at the end of the day, if they had stuck with Deans, we would be swapping them for something else anyway. Personally, I'd prefer they stick with the XT type and not the EC type, but Horizon own them, so they'll do what they'll do.
Bakerboyzzz RC ya I only had deans and Traxxas also. I found deans hard to solder. I’ve had the most luck with the xt90 connectors for soldering and I’ve never had a failure. EC5 is actually not too hard to solder but they are tricky to snap the pins into place afterwards lol
Aussie RC Playground ya my Losi 8ight E buggy has the EC5 connector. They seem alright I’ve never had one break. I just don’t like to switch my stuff too much haha. And I can only seem to solder xt decently. Needless to say I’ve got some lipo with xt90 and a couple for specifically running my EC5 cars. Great video by the way. Love the look of the notorious truck in blue. I’m debating this one or the Talion for my next Arrma truck! When spring rolls around of course... subscriber and fan from 🇨🇦😂👋☃️
I've watched your videos on Arrma for a long time and was always hesitant because nobody has them where I live, heck most people I've talked to haven't even heard of them. I finally picked up a Kraton a few months back and it's awesome. I used to always look at that other brand that we won't mention for my bashers but after getting my Kraton I'm all in with Arrma for my bashers. I'm highly considering getting the new Big Rock Crew Cab 1/10 scale, will you be doing a review of it in the near future? Great to have you back.

Hopefully they just rebrand the TTX300 radio as the Spektrum TTX300 or something like that. Win-win.
The logic is that it's the exact same Truck. The Talion and Kraton might only be a few changed parts and a body, but those few changes give the trucks their own driving style and personality. This is literally just the Outcast. It should be an Outcast update, cause all it is is an updated body.

The granite 4x4 blx and senton 4x4 blx models have EC5 connectors.
Yes, they do and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I don't use either XT90 or EC5 connectors, but I do feel for those people that have made the switch and now will either have to switch again or will forever be cutting off and replacing connectors with every new ARRMA they buy. Not a big deal for some, but for those that can't solder or don't want to, this is a problem.
