Right? Like, there are months where I have to decide if gas or food are really necessary before my paycheck arrives. I wish I could just forget to budget for something that breaks $100,000 in cost.
Something I particularly appreciate about the design of this cave home are the master bedrooms being spaced apart on opposite sides of the cave for that added privacy. It's a small thing but really nice to see!

Congratulations on having the courage to do what's right for your child. Too many people choose to keep a child they can't properly care for, or WORSE, deprive them of life at ALL. And kudos to the family who recognized YOUR value in the child's life, what a blessed kid.
I personally would love to see more on the building and engineering of the house. This was allot more why I chose color and my cabinets and not enough about the engineering and what we had to do to get past these problems and what engineering features we added to it to make it a more livable structure. Like the dehumidifiers and the drainage and just basic wiring and water stuff also.
Absolutely stunning! It takes true artistic flare to match the natural stone with building materials seamlessly. Masterful work. Probably the most beautiful alternative living space I will ever see.
People burn patchouli because they say it has a good dirt smell so I don't know why they would have a problem with living in a place that smelled like Earth. People are overly sensitive to natural things because they're so used to smelling artificial things.
It's probably a concern over a musty smell that can come from dampness. I have been extremely ill from mold in the past, and with sensitive lungs, it would be a concern. However, with 4 dehumidifiers, there should be no problem. I love patchouli, but I would not associate it with a cave smell.
I have a cave man in our family. My sister married a guy who lived in a cave. Actually it was an old salt mine or something, and they had a driveway that went right into the cave. It housed a whole bunch of people. It was sort of like a commune I guess. They had a huge kitchen and pretend windows that would light up slowly in the morning and go black at night, so it felt like day and night in the cave. They also had their own school right in the cave. It was quite self sufficient and some people did not leave for weeks at a time. My sister was one of the teachers there. I've always wanted to live in an underground home. Someday when my ship comes in...
It sounds more like you’ve discovered a lost society that is trying to integrate itself into modern day life. You might be hiding one of the greatest discoveries in modern history! Do they decorate the walls of said “Salt Cave” with vague drawings in natural paints showing the men hunting a mastodon or something?
I really appreciate all the thought and very careful decisions that were made in bringing this home to life. I would have appreciated a bit more about the construction especially how water was brought in and wastewater removed as well as how electrical was brought to the cave. It's great how all the utilities were able to be incorporated into the flooring and the very few walls. It would also be great to hear what the natural temperature is within the home before any heating or cooling year round.
There’s a road 100’ from the house likely had a water pump and electrical box right around there somewhere to feed the house. Plumbing I have no idea. Likely septic

And you can try it only for "starting 600 USD/night"! As these "humble" people, who are accidentally bragging about spending more than 100k on decoration offering you on their website... Yeah. Very ancestors like.
Wow, they have four dehumidifiers and each of them is capable of extracting 7-8 gallons of water/day from the ambient environment! I wonder how much water they are collecting in their cave home within a given week. It's probably higher in the winter and spring given the increased levels precipiation.
@@kirdot2011 It's more than 200k. But it's a "starting 600 USD/night" rental investment. So they precisely calculated everything. It's a business model, not a home, so that's why they poured that much into design.
im sure people have been living in that cave over thousands of years. did you have to have an archaaeologist present when you excavated? did you find any ancient artifacts?
Love to watch this video not only because of the unique house but the family are lovely with that small details I saw its a perfect awesome I got tears on my cheek
What a fabulous cave home, such creative ideas and planning to keep the cave structure and add to its natural beauty while buiding a gorgeous home within it. It is definitely the nicest cave home I've seen! The overnight rental price reflects its luxury accomodations, but how cool it would be to rent and split the cost with a few friends or family members for a quick get a way!
10 :42 the wood work looks like it grew down from the rock 👏👏 fitting in and looking natural. The electrical wiring is a very welcome outcome, leaving the cave ceiling as is. That shows a nice touch, and some thought went into keeping the whole design looking natural. In the winter, the snow and surrounding scenery would be well like Christmas every day.
It has always been my dream to live in a cave ! wow this is beyond magical, the decorating and gothic touch is absolutely impeccable. Lets see their main home now hahaha.
Enjoyed the video and information very much. I am building a Mid Century home and it never gets old to see what others come up with. I must say you have a vision and that vision is now complete and it is wonderful.
That's what I'm thinking. These two have to have MAJOR cash flow in order to build multiple homes especially THIS ONE. Who spends this type of money, resources, & energy on a home like this one to not actually live in it but a few days every month or so? To me it screams they have too much money & don't know what to do with all of it imo.
@@ondreacounts2556 too much money? that's your opinion, too much money for you but anyone smarter than that can invest (like they're doing by renting it out)
It's obvious that power lines are very close to their cave, couple of times you could see regular houses nearby . They are not far from sewer lines also . They are not 50 miles 🤪 from the nearest town 🤣😅🤣. THIS PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE, GORGEOUS. PERIOD 🌑
Motivation and drive, think outside the box. For example I have 2 jobs, a kid, wife and go to college for a job that'll be 80$ an hour working for yourself. My free time am building my skills learning new things and have a side business as well. There are tons of jobs with barely any training or college to make easily over 30 an hour plus. Most people these days don't set goals and challenge themselves to be better, just staying home smoking weed, vaping, cigarettes, alcohol, etc things that are a total waste of money Also yes I barely sleep, but hey I'll sleep when am dead
I can just see a scene, years from now, someone says to a member of a new generation of this family, "what, were you born in a cave? Close the door", and they'd respond, "well, funny you should ask that..."... LOL! XD
Can someone explain to me how the porous materials that make up the wall won’t be damaged with the water that naturally comes from the stones? For example, the water that they newly discovered weeping out of the stone was very close if not touching the wall. I don’t see how that doesn’t get damaged.
Owners: "Yeah this is definitely more energy efficient than a normal house" Also Owners: Artifical lightning al over the place, 4 dehumidifiers running pretty much all the time, Air renovation system, radiant flooring with electircity heated water, TV always turned on to emmulate a painting...
i love how they are staying in a master bedroom built with wonderful decor that has no leaking wall but the kids sleep like they are the 4th class passengers on the Titanic with a wall that always has perspiration and moisture that penetrates into the building and sleeping area creating possible mold and health conditions for the kids into the future. Well done parents what can I say!!!!
Yes, I like. And of course, I subscribe. I love homes, buildings, shops-because it is horrible to not to have roof over head. The rain, the sun, the snow, cold, hot, the wind, insects, unwanted humans, animals-all that tryes to destroy you, and all what you do and have. So buildings are so important to people.
I love the cave and beautiful surroundings, but the Gothic arches and chandeliers are not in keeping at all. I think a less is more approach for the furniture/layout, etc like Skandi/Japani would have been amazing and probably cheaper!!
Or maybe following the history of the area caves being used by Native American Indians. I did find myself imagining the aubergine colored tile reminded me of amethyst crystals. But again, this was built to be a money maker and with the saturation of social media influence, decorated appropriately.
I can’t do the gothic theme either; some clean earthy neutrals with Scandinavian & Japanese simplicity and careful texture get my vote too. I love the window wall, floor and outdoor area, but that’s probably it lol😂
Holy crap, I get it! Cave, CAVE, CAAAAAAAAAAAAVEEEEE every two seconds! I wasn't sure where this house was, I really needed the constant reminders. Thank you.

Their interior designer is something else (at first I thought it was them... would be interested to learn who they are). The results are truly amazing/grounded/artistic/harmonious and creative!) What a wonderful vision to transform into reality! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this channel! Gratitude for sharing this positive inspiration 💜
Talented ? 😂 they just have money to wast
@noure b ... Sure, maybe "talent" wasn't the right word...just a statement, as I was impressed with such a big transformation; they embraced an old, fading space, took the time to restore it with integrity AND their own $$$. That's how these things go, after all. I merely appreciate the results; they look great and will serve the space for a long time to come vs. a total waste into nothing. Cynicism is easy, but lazy...hope you find a way to explore what you actually like via your own online viewing, and enjoy/be inspired by/learn from what you admire and/or helps you expand your universe...vs trolling and critiquing based on minutiae...peace...
@@noureb3833 pretty sure the Husband is an architect and they showed multiple scenes of him working in it and on it so yeah....
Really beautiful home, even if it wasn't in a cave. Please put a safety rail on the top murphy bed though. I know of a 10yo who fractured her skull falling out of a top bunk while sleeping, and even though her Dad was a DR and realised immediately she need an ambulance before many symptoms were showing, she sadly passed away.
2:10 Good point that you need a geologist to make sure that the cave is structurally sound! And in so a unique situation a structural engineer should be involved.
Hey, listen, he seems like a good man as long as he respects you and loves you and loves your kids and he’s a good man and God knows his heart. He seems like a good man don’t worry about what the next person say you love him the way he is. God bless you and your family. You got a beautiful home. Enjoy.
I LOVED this house!!! Beautiful family, ADORABLE kids!
But, why kids not same color?....
@@l_7911 naughty america nobody does is better
I’ve seen this home on another channel, it’s amazing! That entire town has a plethora of unique homes!!!!
Link?
Must be nice to have multiple homes!
yeah its okay. Have to pay for them all and maintain them though.
Must be nice to be making money out of them 😭
Yep! Income property…
@@gregercarter1 hey are you in Israel or was that a picture on vacation with the Israeli flag?
Either way be safe out there and God Bless!
Yup.
Love how the little boy looks at Dad with alot of love
but he is a black
His Dad was the man who built the table and chairs.
@@EstevensObis yes, it's new and amazing thing called..Adoption.
Our ancestors used to live in caves with simple tools and today we are in front of a cave equipped with all modern means of living, really something to admire❤🎉😮
And you can try it only for "starting 600 USD/night"! As these "humble" people, who are accidentally bragging about spending more than 100k on decoration offering you on their website... Yeah. Very ancestors like.
@@agnespetheswow😮 really?
are they actually renting this place.
@@agnespethes it's $780 now. lol.
@@agnespethes why would they rent it dirt cheap when it costs a lot of money to make, nobody wants to rent a unique place to brokies.
A truly amazing realisation of a dream home! You must feel such a great sense of accomplishment.
Wow, they have four dehumidifiers and each of them is capable of extracting 7-8 gallons of water/day from the ambient environment! I wonder how much water they are collecting in their cave home within a given week. It's probably higher in the winter and spring given the increased levels precipiation.
Oh my goodness, That is such a gorgeous house! I can’t believe how they built that with just rocks, I could never! 😂
For approximately 200k it has to look good.
@@kirdot2011 It's more than 200k. But it's a "starting 600 USD/night" rental investment. So they precisely calculated everything. It's a business model, not a home, so that's why they poured that much into design.
@@agnespethes so they`re not living in it just renting it?!
@@kirdot2011 They live in a city.
im sure people have been living in that cave over thousands of years. did you have to have an archaaeologist present when you excavated? did you find any ancient artifacts?
This is the most beautiful and unique house I‘ve ever seen.
Love to watch this video not only because of the unique house but the family are lovely with that small details I saw its a perfect awesome I got tears on my cheek
absolutely gorgeous. I would love to live there full time.
Impressed. This rocks, literally.
Im blown away by the tour online !!
How are you doing today
If I won the big lottery, that is a home I could see myself buying or having built. There is something comforting about cave dwellings.
Oh my gosh! It’s incredible! It’s Beautiful! I love it!
I’m curious.. if this is part of hocking hills which I thought was state owned park property .. how was this land private purchased ?
A simple google search would tell you you can build and live on hocking hills you just need permits.
That is really something else. I wonder how you come to own a bit of land with a cave in it? Private land?
This couple has some serious $$$.
No you think ?🤔 😂....
It has always been my dream to live in a cave ! wow this is beyond magical, the decorating and gothic touch is absolutely impeccable. Lets see their main home now hahaha.
Brilliant idea, well thought-out. The whole design looks very cool.
That baby is so cute. You can tell his daddy is his favorite ❤😊
Enjoyed the video and information very much. I am building a Mid Century home and it never gets old to see what others come up with. I must say you have a vision and that vision is now complete and it is wonderful.
What an absolutely beautiful home. I would love to stay there. It's amazing.
It's beautiful I'm happy for you guys ! What an awesome cave house!👍
I think I saw their other container home. They must have a lot of money to build these beautiful homes.
@@ondreacounts2556 They said early on that they rent it out, so it's probably an expensive high-end Airbnb that pays for itself.
@@ondreacounts2556 “ too much money” who gets to decide?
@@ondreacounts2556 too much money? that's your opinion, too much money for you but anyone smarter than that can invest (like they're doing by renting it out)
It's obvious that power lines are very close to their cave, couple of times you could see regular houses nearby . They are not far from sewer lines also . They are not 50 miles 🤪 from the nearest town 🤣😅🤣. THIS PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE, GORGEOUS. PERIOD 🌑
Nice cave house.
The family is incomplete without the father of the youngest child😅
💀
Where do these young poeple get their money????
Exactly ! Absolute insane ... And insane why people are not curious about it !
@@RadgeHart we live in a society
Probably stocks, savings, possible also a loan? I mean it takes time but building wealth with the internet these days is very easy
Most people these days don't set goals and challenge themselves to be better, just staying home smoking weed, vaping, cigarettes, alcohol, etc things that are a total waste of money
Also yes I barely sleep, but hey I'll sleep when am dead
Probably trust fund kids, stocks, heritage, win the lottery. Etc
Your home is amazing. I love all of the artistic creativity combined with the natural elements. And you guys are an awesome family ❤
We spent a week in Hocking Hills last summer. It’s amazing there. I love this idea!
how did you vent your pluming? most homes have vents exit the roof and the hood above your stove where does that exhaust to?
All good and well done... But am I the only one thinking...BATMAN.... 😂
I was thinking they should change their name to Rubble or Flintstone….
Exactly
I believe you can treat the walls with stuff that protects them from water
you can treat them.
They're prepared and its nice...its good to have a man who knows what the hell is going on....
Owners: "Yeah this is definitely more energy efficient than a normal house"
Also Owners: Artifical lightning al over the place, 4 dehumidifiers running pretty much all the time, Air renovation system, radiant flooring with electircity heated water, TV always turned on to emmulate a painting...
they wouldnt get the permit if it wasnt..
Omg, stunning!❤❤❤❤❤😊
i love how they are staying in a master bedroom built with wonderful decor that has no leaking wall but the kids sleep like they are the 4th class passengers on the Titanic with a wall that always has perspiration and moisture that penetrates into the building and sleeping area creating possible mold and health conditions for the kids into the future. Well done parents what can I say!!!!
Yeah they can make more. If parents die, no more children 😅
@@romella_karmeythey cant make that black baby they adopted maybe they can buy an other one🤷♀️
If i remember correctly the walls treated with an epoxy of some sort and they do expect to correct the drainage of water somewhat
Wow, this is amazing, the decor really does justice to the surroundings. 😊
The problem of this housing is the humidity which requires constant ventilation and sometimes it is not enough
they have multiple dehumidifiers did you not see them? then they can take the water from those and use it for something else.
Thank you.
Drinking game: every time they say the word cave, drink. Please only sip because you will be doing a lot of drinking.
I lived in Athens going to college and use to go to Hocking Hills all the time on weekends and summers with my kids. THIS was my dream idea back then. So JELLY
Man finally back to cavern.
It's so beautiful. I need mine now.
I guess Art Nuveau is more obvious style for this house than Gothic.

The rock will slowly dry out now. I wonder what that will do to its integrity.
If you hear cracking, run!! 😂
Gorgeous! I could live in this. Especially here in Texas where our summer temps reach over 100*. Being inside a natural cave would keep you cool all summer long and warm in the winter with the heating system you installed. Well done!
Love this home! The bookcase is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! So jealous! 😊
It's not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.Grow and protect your in•vest•ment portfolio by carefully diversifying(expanding) and in•ves•ting it, and you will find yourself funding many generations to come.this trick has never failed.
