A shout out for the people in the shop production for taking us along for the professional tour on all the technical aspects of your operation. It's easy to see why your company has such a good reputation. Thanks
I’m a big fan of the dramatic box opening, and the explanation of all the jazz is second to none 👌. If you can’t have fun at work why bother? Great content again ADS always enjoy watching your skills doing great things. 😀🇺🇸
Once again you have made a quality video presentation to accompany a quality finished component. Your stage props (axes) were very clever and padding the bill to cover getting the shipping vault open was too. I honestly was expecting the next notch up to be a chainsaw.👍
Never suspect good parts as good. I got a new set of NEW Bosch Injectors for my 2002 Cummins 5.9/24v. Suspecting and just wanting to make sure they were okay, I sent them to ADS for testing. Well well, ADS found every injector WAY out of balance. ADS is the best money I ever spent. Thank You ADS. P.S, expect to see my turbo for a rebuild in the coming weeks for a rebuild.
@@I_Am_Your_Problem Since I have little faith in today's made parts and all the fakes, I took no chances on having my new injectors tested. $130 is worth its weight in gold. ADS found everyone off. So they recalibrated them. Yes, brand new, never used injectors, way off. My 5.9 has never run so well. ADS also provided documentation of before and after results as well. My turbo is also fine, but it's coming off for a rebuild in either case. I have no budget restrictions for what I do.
Your speech is impeccable and a pleasure to hear. Someone in your company is very high on quality, making your department more like a laboratory than a manufacturer. Great craftsmanship is always appreciated. Keep up the wonderful workmanship. I sincerely wish all of you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Nailed it 🫵🤪😁 It's pretty neat to watch one channel send off a part one day and then a few days later on another channel receive that part, repair it and send it back. 😊
This is an awesome and informative video and not one boring moment. I can see why Clint uses your company and I'm sure you stand behind your work just like Clint does his.Since I started watching C&C Equipment Clint and family and crew have come a long ways and not once have I ever seen him or anyone working there do anything less then awesome work. I now am a subscriber to your site and I'm sure I will enjoy and learn alot from it. Wishing you and crew and all your families a happy, safe and enjoyable holiday season!
I'm always impressed with not only the work you guys do in these videos, but your technical and scientific knowledge and how well and efficiently you present the information. You really do cram a lot of knowledge into a short time. The intro was phenomenal, I learned a ton and it was so well presented. Great work! And of course a fascinating repair. Thank you.
Most of the videos I watch mention your company with positive remarks. Precision workmanship with high quality finished parts is you key to success. Also your video was very good
Wow! I haven't caught one of your videos in the last few months. You really dialed it in for this episode with sound, pop up displays along with the always good presentation!
@@AreaDieselService I kind of rely on your collaborators like Diesel Creek, Scrappy indudstries, Farm101, C&C Equipment (and LetsDig18?) to team up with you.
Having a turbo on my T-bird many years ago: At low speed no turbo. it takes the engine to get about 2K RPM's and the turbo kicks in. It was a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder. If they had an idle or pushing heavy at low speed - kick in more turbo and it gets done. My thoughts Area Diesel Service is an expert. Consider the dozer sitting idle but on awaiting a flight of aircraft to fly into an off site place. As the planes come it in, the dozer has to haul planes or pull trip cable back for the next plane (Navy tail hook).
Awesome video... I bet Clint will be happy... I have now subscribed to your channel.. I learned a lot today... I have driven a lot of trucks and operated heavy equipment in my life time... Never really understood exactly how a turbo works.. Great job.. Your explanation put into simple terms that I had no problem following and could easily understand.. Keep up the good work and look forward to your future video's.. Charlotte, North Carolina is watching..
Need to show/add videos of HD box opener reman. to include handle balancing and fitting... cutter head balancing, sharpening, polishing, and finally painting. Ray
That balancing was cool. It is amazing what people can invent to make money! I guessed at $2,000 so wasn't too far off. No doubt a LOT cheaper than a new turbo, with all the parts inside them.
VGT turbos are great. They give you the best of both worlds. You get the faster spool times of a smaller turbo without the restrictions of the smaller turbo. My daily driver is powered by a 427 cube lsx that's fed with a BW S488 with a vgt exhaust housing. IHI is another main oem supplier of turbochargers.
1:42 Dirt Perfect actually bought his 850JR from Clint at C&C_Equipment a lil while ago. Small world here with TH-cam, heavy equipment and diesel engines! 👍🏻👌🏻🛢️🛠️🔩🔧🚜🏗️ ✊🏻🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲✊🏻
Very interesting process. I always knew that turbo's could go 80,000 RPM's or higher and it would take precise engineering and repairs to make and keep one in top Proformance
Thought the same at first, but then I don’t believe there’s any kind of “key” to ensure they go back in the exact same position that they were balanced. Individually balancing the two means there’s no need to keep them “timed”.
I've seen your content before with products from Diesel Creek and C&C and enjoy the content. I took the Turbo out of my 1981 Fiat spider cuz I could never get it tuned in correctly, it was either all or nothing. I believe the turbo worked correctly, I just think the whole thing was a poor design. There were only 750 made with the turbo and I still have everything just in case I ever want to try again, but for only 20 HP I doubt that will ever happen.
Cracks in the housing that you guys found could've caused a overboost issue from factory! Could be the reason why the machine was canabalized with such low hours!
Technically that's a VNT turbo not a VGT turbo in my book it doesn't change the geometry of the turbine housing but it has variable nozzles like the Garrett turbos now Holset makes the VGT set up but I realize everyone calls them vgt
EGR......the first thing to delete on any diesel. Simply put a resistor on the air intake temp sensor and it never turns on ( ECU thinks air is always too cold to produce NOx)
VGT Turbos, bane of my existence. Especially Holtset, which is owned by Cummins. Every day machines and vehicles would come in, engine light on, "Actuator Not Responding". Couldn't just change the turbo or the actuator even though this was the umpteenth time. Nope, firstly gotta go through the entire mindless infantile troubleshooting to justify warranty. Secondly, there were no parts or replacements anyway. Manufacturer could have said "Take it apart and clean it up". Nope, factory warranty issue. There are a couple of ironies involved: 1] If the engines weren't burning so clean, had some good old fashioned oily carbon soot as lubricant, maybe they wouldn't have seized up as often. 2] This type of turbo is being/has been phased out. I was at a Cummins training course and the instructors were emphasizing the latest and greatest, no VGT, just a simple waste gate. Never admit you had a dumb idea, just present the past as new again.
At 25 minutes you placed 3 bolts. Do they get screwed in if they do how much? is it finger tight? Thanks I believe that this tractor will be shown in January. How many video on the subject that I don't know.
Military equipment without emissions just like the trucks from Ford that don't have emissions on them so the engines last a long time like they are supposed to. This is why they put all these emissions equipment on the motor, because it retains more heat in the engine and the carbon and soot go back into the motor and score the cylinder walls where you look at the old diesel equipment they didn't do that and the engine's used to last a long time.
Awesome job as always guys
I learn something new every time I watch your videos!
Thanks again!
Great stuff from both of you both…Quality is never an issue on either of you both 👍🏻👌🏻

I'm wondering why you didn't balance the two rotors to gather on the shaft
Thought the same at first, but then I don’t believe there’s any kind of “key” to ensure they go back in the exact same position that they were balanced. Individually balancing the two means there’s no need to keep them “timed”.
Q. The actuator? Is it serviceable on a timeline turnaround, I assume it would need to be sent to outsourced service? Is it a viable service item
Do you think that you can balance my washing machine if I put a Garrett decal on it?
I was expecting a jump cut to the shipping box you got from DP when you referred to proper shipping methods.
very interesting thankyou.
Clinton packs his turbos a lot better than DP. 🤣

Being observant.. and clearly outspoken.. I'm curious as to why the impellers weren't balanced as a completed unit = both impellers + shaft?
