  • In today's test, we're going to check out the SK Biathlon Sport. This is SK's special cartridge for biathlon shooting, but it should be suitable for other forms of shooting as well. I'm using my new rifle, the Bergara B14R, and on top, I have a Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 scope. I have an MDT Oryx chassis on the rifle, and the scope is mounted in a pair of 34mm scope rings from Audere. The distance is 50 yards. There's a bit of wind today, but we'll try and see if we can achieve some good groupings even though .22lr isn't the best caliber for overcoming wind.
    Those of you who have seen some of the other tests I've done with this rifle are probably aware of the issues I've had with functionality. Now, I've been in touch with Bergara, and they were helpful in finding solutions to the problem. They will send me all the parts in the bolt, so we'll see if that solves the issues. It will take some time as they are being sent from the factory.

    SK is my favourite ammo brand. In a canadian cooey 75, an old mass-produced single shot with a well made barrel, and corresponding reputation for accuracy, putting a cheap scope on it allows one to always hit a golf ball at 100 yards, with any of the SK ammo (standard yellow or rifle match red). Only after using SK could i get that every time. I'm going to look for this just to see what it can do.

      Never heard of the Cooey. Interesting. I looked it up, cool little rifle!

    Nice work again. You’re so lucky that you can get SK ammo. Australia is basically out of stock and only a fraction of what’s ordered is expected maybe soon. The rumour is that the Russian war in Ukraine is causing the issue with supply priority in manufacturing 😖

      It's getting harder and harder here too. I'm not all that sure it's the Ukraine war that cause this. The machines that loads rimfire is so specialiced that you can't load other ammo on them(from my understanding). That said I heard that SK is expanding their factory with new machines. So there is hope, my friend!

    THERE WAS A BIT OF VERTICAL STRINGING THAT WOULD BE HELPED BY A TUNER. Always enjoy your content.
    Thats not a variety of SK we see in Austrakia byut the brand is popular here. Sadly this year has been impossible to get it just like Lapua,
    Keep posting for us please, most apreciated.

      I have tried to find a gunstore that carry tuners here in Norway, but with no luck. It would be fun to try, never owned one. Hope the supply fill up in Australia with SK and Lapua soon!

    SK is my favorite brand of ammunition, and the Biathlon Sport is one of my favorite varieties. It shoots well in my CZ457. I buy it when I can find it in stock, but it is not always available where I live in the United States. I would also like to say that I have Meopta scopes on two of my .22 rifles, and I am very pleased with them. They have become my favorite scopes.

      Yes, it's really good ammo. It's become difficult to find here in Norway too, but it pops up occasionally. Meopta is in my opinion one of the scopes where you get the most value for your money. Good to hear that you're satisfied with yours.

    YOU HAVE MORE FTF IN ONE VIDEO THAN I HAVE IN THREE YEARS AN THOUSANDS OF ROUNDS DOWN RANGE WITH MY B14R.... IT'S THE CHASSIS MY OPINION 🤔🤔

    • @thegunviking
      @thegunviking  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The chassis is not in contact with any part of the mechanism. It might be the magazine, but the distributor is all out of new ones.

      @@thegunvikingYeah, it will get colder soon.
      I got 2 boxes for free at the gun store where I live because of a mistake they made.
      Looking forward to see you test them out.
      I'm also saving them for colder weather.

      @@thegunviking ..family and friends ..maybe have 4 to 6 guns..in DK..not sure how many they can own .I know it can take around 30 days to acquire a gun with all the permits and licensing they have to go thru. vs a day for me in Northern Michigan..

    • @thegunviking
      @thegunviking  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ericandersen9526 You can buy 8 hunting guns on your hunting license. When it comes to sport shooting it`s easier. You are allowed to own one gun for each disipline, two if you shoot a lot of matches. A very active sport shooter can easily acquire 25-30 guns, somtimes more.
