What a legend. Thank you for putting Cattle Decap in the spotlight for a more broad audience. I urge anyone to give them a listen, metal-head or not. There's nobody like 'em.
I never thought I'd see the day where Ephemeral is talking about Cattle decap. I remember in highschool when my friend got me a ticket to their concert for my birthday, was one of the most memorable concerts ever in this warehouse in the middle of nowhere in Brisbane Australia, I'll never forget them playing The Carbon Stampede!
No fucking way dude, cattle decapitation is my second favourite band of all time. My respect for you still grows with every one of your vids even if ive been watching you for like 5 years. Kinda very jealous you got all the vinyls in a short period of time because im too broke but oh well. Should’ve seen this coming knowing you like metal with the recent comments you made about animal genocide, I was literally thinking about the band each time you mentioned that subject lol. Btw just want to say met the members and they’re all the most down to earth people
I'm happy that you checked these guys out and got positive results! It's funny that I saw and got to meet these guys on their Bring Back the Plague tour in February 2020, one month before the world locked down. The irony that an actual plague canned their tour wasn't lost on them. Also, fun fact about their Human Jerky EP, it actually has a recipe for it in the liner cover.
Death Atlas is such an insane album, never got into cattle decap before that album but I couldn't get enough of it when it came out. Probably my favorite album cover art as well
It crazy how peoples taste's in music change over time. I remember as a kid my parents were REALLY into music, but i had no real love for it. Then i got my first job when i was 16 and someone there was like "hey listen to this" and it completely changed my life. Like i can't draw without music to inspire me, whereas my parents have really cooled on music... well my mother has at least.
Cattle Decap was the band that allowed me to graduate from nu metal and alt metal to heavier genres like deathcore ,metalcore and ofc brutal death metal and grindcore. I have such a love for this band becuase I wouldnt love music as much as I do without them
This is one of the best asmr videos I've seen. It's so awesome to see how you love the bands you talk about and how metal is really a part of your life. Cattle Decapitation is one of my favorite death metal bands of all time, Job for a Cowboy, Vomitory, Opeth and Cannibal Corpse are right next to it. Great video and great musical taste too, man. Hope you transform this into a series. Would love to see you talking about Tool or Primus in an in depth analysis like this.
These guys are local to me here in San Diego and have been fortunate enough to see them live at some nice intimate venues over the years. Looking forward to this video!!!
As if we didn’t already know, this guy was the coolest guy in ASMR. Saw Cattle Decapitation this year on the Decibel mag tour with Dark Funeral and Blackbraid, was amazing!
Wow I’ve been digging your ASMR for a while and never knew you were into extreme metal…awesome. Cattle Decap was a top 3 album last year for me. I am also single sided deaf since 2011 die to an acoustic neuroma operation. I still go to concerts but admittedly the sound just isn’t the same. Appreciate the content!
Hell yes! I've been waiting so long for some more Heavy Metal ASMR videos from you. I have been listening to a lot of Cattle Decapitation lately in fact especially their new album and the previous one. Please do some more Heavy Metal ASMR vids! I never get tired of them! 🤘🏻
Great vid, man. Our tastes overlap a lot, so thanks for putting this band on my radar. I've also lost almost all my interest in music in the last 3 years, but I'll give this a go.
Been a huge fan of cattle decap since their first album. Love the new album. I think it’s my favorite. Got into them back in the late 90’s because I was a huge fan of the locust.
Oh my goth I never thought i would see cattle in an asmr vid, they're so good live I can't wait to see them again in December and to complete my collection
I'm big into metal (black/death/grind/etc) and also listen to ASMR as kind of a counterbalance, it's nice to be able to go from extreme noise to quiet sound, like giving your ears and your mind a break sometimes.
This is literally what I needed!!! I’m a huge metal head and and I absolutely love hearing people talk about metal!! Now I get to fall asleep to it!! Satan bless you good sir!!
Cattle Decapitation is literally my favourite metal band. I have been listening to their discography back to back for years, and seeing my favourite ASMR creator talk about them? Hell yeah.
Let’s go 🤘🤘 Cattle Decapitation is such a wicked band. Death Atlas is such a perfect album for the time it came out. It’s eerily comparable to the times. Terrasite is wicked. So many great songs on that album too. Scourge of the Offspring 🤘
Been listening to Cattle Decap for a while now (since roughly 2 or so years after Monolith of Inhumanity), it's pretty nice having one of my favorite ASMRtists liking one of my favorite bands, like the ying and yangs of my life interacting.
As a metalhead I really appreciate this kinda video! You should definitely do a similar style of video with some other bands you’ve loved over the years. Though if music as a whole has been ‘dead’ to you for a while, I understand if that might be harder to do. Just a thought. Awesome video tho man! 🤘
I've never shared this story before as I don't know anyone who has ever been into Cattle Decapitation. A couple of years ago I briefly dated someone that told me their coworker had a partner "in a famous band" and I thought oh cool, what band? They weren't sure of the band's name, so they went and asked their coworker a day or so later and it turned out that the band was Cattle Decapitation lol. I was taken by surprise as I was a fan of theirs during the Monolith of Inhumanity era and thought it was such a bizarre occurrence that they worked so closely with someone that had close ties to a band I liked as a teenager. The person I dated ended up buying me a Death Atlas long sleeve directly from their coworker because the coworker said to "let them know if they want any merch because there's a lot at home" lol. Even though we haven't been together in years, I always think back to that memory and the t-shirt pretty fondly as it was a cool, once in a lifetime kind of coincidence.
Oh wow I did not know we shared the same music tastes’ I had to double check that this was your channel when I saw the thumbnail to this video lol that’s awesome! 🤘🏻
one of my most favorite bands! if it wasnt for them, i would never have gotten so interested in the preservation of earth and caring more about our environment.
My buddy Nick has been obsessed with Cattle Decap since he saw them at a concert where they were promoting Humanure. I didn't get into them until we listened to Monolith of Inhumanity while on our way to pick up The Anthropocene Extinction. Cattle Decap is excellent, even though I'm more into Necrophagist and Rings of Saturn (who I've personally met).
I love cattle decap! Terrasite didn't hit quite as hard for me compared to anthropocene or monolith but still good! Awesome to see you talk about them Paul! The closest bands I can think of are like Aborted or Dying Fetus. There really isn't a band that sounds much like them, especially their new material. Another band with a similar message but not sound would be To The Grave. They are a deathcore band from Australia and just looking at their album art from their 2023 record will tell you all you need to know.
By watching this video, I remembered they were on tour, I then went to their website to see if they’re coming to North Carolina, they will in fact be here tomorrow night so I’m about to buy tickets!! Love Cattle Decap, thank you Paul! Love it!
Literally my favorite band 🥰 one of the only bands that can really tap into the primal animalistic rage I harbor for our regressive destructive grotesque society and climate despair; all wrapped in a technically impressive emotionally resonating cacophony of madness and symphony of grief. Great record collection, I only recently started my Cattle collection with The Anthropocene Extinction which is probably still my personal favorite, but I love them all equally
Heard on the part about not finding much joy in music. As time goes on more effort seems to be required to spiritually connect with music as life generally becomes mundane so the 😊 moments in life that connect to song can become fewer and fewer.
C.D. Is one of the first concerts I ever went to. They played with Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy and maybe 1 other band. I got steamrolled seconds into their set. I’ve never experienced anything like that since. It’s something I’ll never forget. They took the stage with such an intimidating demeanor and angry energy. It was glorious.
Quick band recommendation for you Mr. Rift, if you haven’t heard of them or listened to them already, The Black Dahlia Murder is an excellent group from Michigan. If you enjoy slasher films and cosmic horror as well as elements of the occult, then you’ll enjoy TBDM. Thank you & love your content!
Words can't describe how happy I was to see this video in my feed. One of my favorite bands, and one of the best 4 album runs in modern metal history. 🤘🍻
While a little harder to comprehend and enjoy(maybe for less musically inclined individuals) meshuggah sounds like they would be a great listen for you, especially their more recent releases. Whether they are talking about the cruelites of the world, religion, or a brain hemorage you will be nodding your head and enjoying your time
YO I have most of those vinyls too! Holy crap I never thought I'd see Cattle Decap on this channel, of all places. I’ve been able to see them at least 10 times and I’m seeing them again soon in Philly on tour with friends of mine! Was able to spend a bunch of time with them a couple years back when they personally took some of my best friends band out on tour
The fact that Uncle ER is a metalhead makes me love him even more.
Whispering "Cattle Decapitation" was just pure class 🗿
haha
@@EphemeralRiftcan we get a deep voice

No wayyyyy! They're like my 39th favourite band. But seriously I love Death Atlas.
There's an awesome feeling about being at an intersection of ASMR and death metal cultures by watching this video
I just started listening to this band last month and the fact that you're making a video about them is wild to me right now
I'm happy that you checked these guys out and got positive results!

The man who never runs out of ideas....and has good taste in music.

Monolith of Inhumanity is one of my most played albums to this day. I think it’s an absolute masterpiece.
So happy to see this! All time favorite band!
awesome band! their last 2 records, especially Death Atlas, are absolutely incredible masterpieces

I just had a friend introduce me to cattle decapitation maybe a month ago this is my now favorite metal band!! Perfect video Uncle E!!! ❤
You should do a video following this about the band Death, they had such a good discography
Yes please
Its interesting how many people here enjoy being screamed at as well as being whispered to sleep. I love it both:)

Monolith of Inhumanity was the reason why I got into CD. “Dead Set Suicide” sealed the deal for me especially when that guitar solo hit ( 2:02 )
