    Don't worry about how you look! I think that this is a great video! LOL!! By the way.. another thing that you can do to use these beautiful glass rocks ..are use them either as a Rock to put on a gravestone..(in remembrance of that person who has passed)
    You can also use it as a good luck stone or a "worry stone" too! There are also even things as "circle rocks" if you are creating a circle for a garden or for just a beautiful rock circle or a decorative rock circle(in a general sense)..and also for those who want to use it for "worship or to dress up a Wiccan Altar or whatever you like to do! I think that it's very very pretty!! Just thought I would share!!

    HINT &. HELPFUL TIP: If you are using a glitter polish and want better glitter coverage (or a whole lotta glitter! :)) Get a cosmetic sponge (either latex ones or non-latex, it doesn't matter which) and paint a few strokes directly onto the cosmetic sponge. Then blot the sponge, where u put the glitter polish, directly onto the glass stone. Doing this will cut down on the clear polish that the glitter is in, so u get lots of glitter without having to paint 12,000 coats onto the glass stone! Plus doing this cuts down on the dry time too! If u want more info on how to sponge glitter then search for YTs SimplyNailogical - How to sponge glitter polish. You can also paint a layer of clear to coat onto the glass stone and immediately sprinkle actual loose glitter over the top coat. Give it a minute and then pat the glitter down onto the stone a little to help it adhere better. And last but not least, once that is dry, just paint a couple coats of top coat over the glitter! & ur done!!!

    You are so right when you say this is addictive! I intended to just make one tonight to practice but I ended up making 11!! I put top coat on and let that dry, then another layer of top coat and put different colors of glitter on the stones and then I put a matching color nail polish to seal the glitter. I'm not sure what I'm going to do from here but I love just looking at them. They're so sparkly and pretty!

    For one of mine, I put on rubber gloves and put a nail polish color on to a cheap toothbrush. Then I flicked on the color on to the rock. I did this over and over again with purples and blues and it looks FANTASTIC

    Sorry for taking so long to answer Angie. I was out of town. I put a layer of colored polish on, then I put a piece of foil - crinkled is better - on the wet polish and pulled it up right away. That takes some of the polish off and leaves a cool texture/pattern! Then I followed up with other colors.

    If you are inclined to do this, you can find the glass marbles at a dollar store or in the floral craft area. I suggest the dollar store. You get a lot for a little. You can use crackle with these and they create a really cool effect. If you do any online shopping, there are a lot of the ring blanks at etsy.com. Basically you have a flat section that you glue onto and then the band itself is adjustable. You will want to be careful when selecting one because some are specifically geared toward children and will run small if you have a large finger like I do. I like to use the E6000 glue for my jewelry. I usually use sand paper and scratch the surface of the ring blank and then apply the E6000 directly to the ring pad. Let it dry for 24 hours. If you want a better quality of glass domes, you can also find them on etsy too.

  • @CraftKlatch
    @CraftKlatch  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are worried about the nail polish coming off, you could do a think coat of a glue, like Weldbond, on it first and then apply the polishes. That should give it a little more grip on the glass. Thanks for watching Tori!

    craft stores, ebay, etsy have them. Even your local garden center will have some Glass stones. Might even find some at poundland/ dollarstores, they will be in lots of 100 g (or more) often used for decorating around candles... Depends on the size you want the glass stones to be. You could also get resin and moulds and make em how ever you want them to look.

    Very pretty! Always good to see how to use nail polish in other ways. I have so many and such pretty colors but I'll never ware them all and all of the bottles. TY for your tutorial.

    You can get them at Hobby Lobby, or online. Michaels carries some too.

    Pressing the stones into a blob of clay (the super cheap, never dries out, kindergarten variety) will hold them in place on your work surface so they aren't skittering around and we don't have to worry about fumbling them (I can't seem to hold on to anything). Makes it easier to set them aside safely while working on other projects, if you dedicate one tray or plate to the the project, too.

    They don't have the wear and tear like your nails do, but eventually it would probably peel off. That's just an excuse to make another one! Or, if you put on a layer of a clear drying glue that is made to stick to glass, like a Weldbond, or something similar, then do the polish, it should last a lot longer! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. Mona
