HINT &. HELPFUL TIP: If you are using a glitter polish and want better glitter coverage (or a whole lotta glitter! :)) Get a cosmetic sponge (either latex ones or non-latex, it doesn't matter which) and paint a few strokes directly onto the cosmetic sponge. Then blot the sponge, where u put the glitter polish, directly onto the glass stone. Doing this will cut down on the clear polish that the glitter is in, so u get lots of glitter without having to paint 12,000 coats onto the glass stone! Plus doing this cuts down on the dry time too! If u want more info on how to sponge glitter then search for YTs SimplyNailogical - How to sponge glitter polish. You can also paint a layer of clear to coat onto the glass stone and immediately sprinkle actual loose glitter over the top coat. Give it a minute and then pat the glitter down onto the stone a little to help it adhere better. And last but not least, once that is dry, just paint a couple coats of top coat over the glitter! & ur done!!!
Sorry for taking so long to answer Angie. I was out of town. I put a layer of colored polish on, then I put a piece of foil - crinkled is better - on the wet polish and pulled it up right away. That takes some of the polish off and leaves a cool texture/pattern! Then I followed up with other colors.
Don't worry about how you look! I think that this is a great video! LOL!! By the way.. another thing that you can do to use these beautiful glass rocks ..are use them either as a Rock to put on a gravestone..(in remembrance of that person who has passed) You can also use it as a good luck stone or a "worry stone" too! There are also even things as "circle rocks" if you are creating a circle for a garden or for just a beautiful rock circle or a decorative rock circle(in a general sense)..and also for those who want to use it for "worship or to dress up a Wiccan Altar or whatever you like to do! I think that it's very very pretty!! Just thought I would share!!
For one of mine, I put on rubber gloves and put a nail polish color on to a cheap toothbrush. Then I flicked on the color on to the rock. I did this over and over again with purples and blues and it looks FANTASTIC
You are so right when you say this is addictive! I intended to just make one tonight to practice but I ended up making 11!! I put top coat on and let that dry, then another layer of top coat and put different colors of glitter on the stones and then I put a matching color nail polish to seal the glitter. I'm not sure what I'm going to do from here but I love just looking at them. They're so sparkly and pretty!
CraftKlatch I am unsure why you are critical of this video, because personally I found it quite interesting. You did not talk too much & you showed what could be achieved. You wrote somewhere you needed a manicure? I never even noticed your nails! Relax - don't knock your efforts -- people like you! ;-D
Were you looking at the Easy Cast? The part b always has a yellowish cast. It turns crystal clear while you mix it. It has to be well mixed. I haven't had any problems with it. I can't speak for other resins though.
Okay - I had to watch it again because I couldn't remember. What I did was I put on a couple of colors and while wet, I took regular aluminum foil and squished it on the wet polish and took it right off. The foil pulled up some of the color and left a different pattern/design. Then I put a darker color behind it to offset the other colors. Hope that helps! Mona
Thank you Sheila!!! I'm glad you liked it! I do put a topcoat on after all of the other coats for a little extra protection. How fun to do this with your granddaughters!!! Thanks for watching!! Mona
OMG, thank you so much. For a week now that is all I have been making, when ever I got chance. There is so many designs that can be created. I am having a ball. Some I have made for house plants, some with magnets and some for rings. Again thank you.
Yes. Twice actually. If you look up Magnetic Tic Tac Toe Craft Klatch one will come up, otherwise look up Crackle nail polish Craft Klatch and more will come up! Hope that helps!
I have to admit, I am not a "craft person" but your videos are so entertaining AND they make me realize just how easy it is to make some of the things I love like glittery rings and the red glitter witch's shoes you made in a different video. I think I'm going to making these rings. :) Thank you for the inspiration!
CraftKlatch ew cool ! dont get me wrong but i really hate it when someone who is as much talented as you are keep talking while making a DIY i sure watch all your videos ... love from Algeria . Kiss !
I've been doing these for a while on smaller stones, just the clear decorative ones you can buy to put in vases and such, but I never thought of that foil trick! I'm going to have to try that! And maybe look for some larger stones to use this on. Great tutorial and beautiful outcomes!
I made a ring today where I drew the logo of my state's MLB team on the stone with Sharpie and then put glitter nail polish behind it! I had over 20 women ask me where I bought the ring!! Super fun technique to add to yours!!
At first I was skeptical and wasn't sure how that was gonna work, but after watching this I am speechless! Just bought some glass stones at the dollar store last week but they are tinted and I have over 20 bottles of polish that I haven't used in forever. This is a great project for someone already making jewelry! Thx for sharing. P.S. my favorites were the two purple glittery ones at the very end (7:03-7:06).
If you are worried about the nail polish coming off, you could do a think coat of a glue, like Weldbond, on it first and then apply the polishes. That should give it a little more grip on the glass. Thanks for watching Tori! Mona
I realize I didn't explain that well enough. While the nail polish is still wet, I took a crumpled up piece of foil and pressed it in the wet polish for a second and removed it to give it texture and when I put the next color on, it would show through it in a different way. I did not leave the foil in place. Hope that helps!
Hi Jeanine - That sounds like a fun idea too! I'll add it to my list! I've put pictures and Mod Podge on the back of them, but haven't tried the acrylic paint. Thanks for watching! Mona
wow that one you were showing with the purples, blues, and pinks that you used a piece of foil on --- that was really cool looking. you're making me wanna do this lol....
I think this project rocks! What a fun thing to do especially when it's a blahh day.its so simple even my daughter can do it. And she's NOT CRAFTY at all lol shell love this,I can't wait to share with her and we can make some together!! Yay thnks
I have an old terrarium that I think some pretty stones would look really nice with, totally doing this to spice it up. Thank you for the awesome tutorial!
Hi Julie - You asked a reasonable question and you weren't the only one who asked. Yes you only paint the back side so the glass magnifies the polish. If you have any other questions let me know. I'm glad you liked it and thanks for watching. Mona
They don't have the wear and tear like your nails do, but eventually it would probably peel off. That's just an excuse to make another one! Or, if you put on a layer of a clear drying glue that is made to stick to glass, like a Weldbond, or something similar, then do the polish, it should last a lot longer! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. Mona
I'm making some for some buttons to dazzle up some of my old coats!
Thanks for sticking with it Bethany!

Good for you! That is awesome! Thanks for watching!
Mona
I'd like to know exactly what she did with the aluminum foil. wish she had shown that part. loved that ring.
From what I understand she stuck it on the bottom and lifted some of the polish off from it.

Your video is beautiful and your work is beautiful why? The answer may be simple because you are so beautiful
Thanks Astrid! I'm glad you liked it! Mona
This is excellent! Thank a lot for your channel :)
Thank you so much!

I did this for paperweight for my coworkers this last Christmas, they LOVED them and many are still using them!
T Bacon That is very cool!
I think these rings are really pretty so I am going to subscribe to your channel.
You are right Tracy! It's perfect for using up that last bit of polish, or the polish you don't use anymore. Thanks for watching!!
Mona
This is really cool! Do you have a small company that you sell your crafts?
Thanks Cali. I don't.
Thank you Sheila!!! I'm glad you liked it! I do put a topcoat on after all of the other coats for a little extra protection. How fun to do this with your granddaughters!!! Thanks for watching!!
Mona
to make nail polish dry faster, put it in cold water. Don't worry, it doesn't wash the polish off, it freezes it on. ;) also no hate
I can't wait to hear how they turned out Carmen!
Krisselda Fan yo It would be so cute as like pebbles or you could make a stencil and do a bunny one like yours. xD or just like gems or charms!!
whoa nice o-o never thought of that xD you should make eeeeeeet
I haven't tried beading around them. I bet that would be pretty!
Wow thx me and my friend where making them are day 😀😀😀😀😀😀😃😃😃😃
me too
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Nichole.
Guys sorry I was wrong I looked over it again and did learn something I was wrong but u don't have to keep yelling at me about it I'm only 11
You can get them at Hobby Lobby, or online. Michaels carries some too.
(paused at 2:46) I just realized. Omfg! I can finally have my own DRAGON SCALE! (dragon tales)
.
I think if you mixed different colors of glitter polish you could make them look like expensive opals. Great idea! Thanks.
I'm not the only one that saw the marble move right???
The tray underneath moved. Not the marble.
OMG, thank you so much. For a week now that is all I have been making, when ever I got chance. There is so many designs that can be created. I am having a ball. Some I have made for house plants, some with magnets and some for rings. Again thank you.
I don't like her she doesn't even show how to put the ring on
you glue it on with the glue that she showed in the video -_-
you are rude
Yes. Twice actually. If you look up Magnetic Tic Tac Toe Craft Klatch one will come up, otherwise look up Crackle nail polish Craft Klatch and more will come up! Hope that helps!
can I do this to my gf or is it politically wrong for a straight man to do this?
Its not wrong
You're fine go ahead
😂😂
I would LOVE if my boyfriend thought of something like this for me. :)
some people would judge but why live your life for them? Honestly, I wish there were more dude crafters.
I have to admit, I am not a "craft person" but your videos are so entertaining AND they make me realize just how easy it is to make some of the things I love like glittery rings and the red glitter witch's shoes you made in a different video. nice work but u talk much more than my grandma !! -_-
khawla kaw Your grandma must be a wonderful person! :) That was an early video, be sure to check out my more recent stuff, I talk much less.
CraftKlatch ew cool ! dont get me wrong but i really hate it when someone who is as much talented as you are keep talking while making a DIY i sure watch all your videos ... love from Algeria . Kiss !
So glad you like it!
Hi Sapir- I already did it with water marbling. You'll have to check it out!
Thanks so much Lauryn! Hope you keep watching! Mona
You glue it onto a ring blank. They are available at most craft stores and online.
Very pretty! Great way to use up that little bit of polish on the bottom of the bottle. Love the sparkles.
I've been doing these for a while on smaller stones, just the clear decorative ones you can buy to put in vases and such, but I never thought of that foil trick! I'm going to have to try that! And maybe look for some larger stones to use this on. Great tutorial and beautiful outcomes!
It's really cute when you add a picture first then paint the background I have one of my daughter. Love it. Thx for sharing.
You are awesome Katrina! Thank you!!
These stones looks so bright!
Thanks Nilly! You are very kind.
Mona
Inexpensive and it works like a charm!
Yay Megan! I'd love to see how they turned out! I'm glad you liked it and thanks for watching! Mona
Yay! How fun! Thanks for watching!
Which? It's a glass stone that I buy. Then the first coat is a clear nail polish topcoat. There was no resin used in this project. Hope that helps!
they would make great pendants as well. just need to drill a small hole on one end. love this project.
I made a ring today where I drew the logo of my state's MLB team on the stone with Sharpie and then put glitter nail polish behind it! I had over 20 women ask me where I bought the ring!! Super fun technique to add to yours!!
I have been painting stones now for a few years. it is so much fun and you can do virtually any design on them, just remember to do it backwards. :)
What a great idea. I have purchased some of these in the past for craft projects, but was waiting for the right idea to come along.
At first I was skeptical and wasn't sure how that was gonna work, but after watching this I am speechless! Just bought some glass stones at the dollar store last week but they are tinted and I have over 20 bottles of polish that I haven't used in forever. These look like so much fun! I know this video is old but I am so glad to finally know how to make them.
I might give these a go soon.
wow, this is really creative. never would have thought of using nail polish to create a craft. very cool.
Thanks Hannah. I've been working on the ummmmms.
You can do it on the smaller ones too!
Hi Debbie-
Try the dollar store, I think it's Dollar Tree, JoAnns, or online.
I realize I didn't explain that well enough. While the nail polish is still wet, I took a crumpled up piece of foil and pressed it in the wet polish for a second and removed it to give it texture and when I put the next color on, it would show through it in a different way. I did not leave the foil in place. Hope that helps!
I did a marbled one, in a different video. Are you talking a random marble, or actually doing specific designs that look like something?
Hi Jeanine - That sounds like a fun idea too! I'll add it to my list! I've put pictures and Mod Podge on the back of them, but haven't tried the acrylic paint. Thanks for watching! Mona
wow that one you were showing with the purples, blues, and pinks that you used a piece of foil on --- that was really cool looking. you're making me wanna do this lol....
This is so beautiful! i tried to make it but i cant get the glass stone and even though I cant make it i keep watching it all over and over again
I think this project rocks! What a fun thing to do especially when it's a blahh day.its so simple even my daughter can do it. And she's NOT CRAFTY at all lol shell love this,I can't wait to share with her and we can make some together!! Yay thnks
Wash them with soap and water. You can also use rubbing alcohol, or nail polish remover.
Craft store or online. They are called ring blanks.
It's entirely up to you. It's your project. There are no rights or wrongs. I do it for a little extra durability.
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you liked it. Mona
Beautiful! It makes me think I am looking into another galaxy full of stars!
I have an old terrarium that I think some pretty stones would look really nice with, totally doing this to spice it up. Thank you for the awesome tutorial!
+kitsune mochalite Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like them! I think they would look beautiful in the terrarium!
I have seen these rings a few times now and I love them. Made them myself and I like the idea of the foil one!!! Great to try out.
I really like the purple one that you used the foil on....very cool !!! Must try this....
I love that Idea!! My nieces would love doing this with me!! I am always thinking of new craft ideas to do with them!!
I have loads of clear stones so that is a good idea to make it not look so plain!! Thx so much for inspiring me
How did they turn out?
Yes! I have been thinking about doing a tic tac toe board video, where I use these, with magnets on the back. I just haven't gotten around to it yet!!
Yay!! I'm glad you liked it and it sound cool with your initial!
Glue. I like the Weldbond, but any strong glue should work.
Hi Julie - You asked a reasonable question and you weren't the only one who asked. Yes you only paint the back side so the glass magnifies the polish. If you have any other questions let me know. I'm glad you liked it and thanks for watching. Mona
Thanks Kathryn!
Shawnie is right. Only the back. That way you see the design through the glass on the front.
Thank you! You are very kind!
Only on the back/flat side. You see the polish through the glass.
You are very kind. Thank you!
Love this idea. Great way of using up polish you perhaps no longer use or the last of a bottle. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Tracy.
LOVE IT!!!! Definitely gonna try, I think I'm just going make a bunch & use it as decorative stones in the family room.
They don't have the wear and tear like your nails do, but eventually it would probably peel off. That's just an excuse to make another one! I don't know. It might be a bit heavy. It might work better with clip ons.
I can not wait to try this with my daughter and nieces for my wedding decorations, this is what I needed for my final touch!! Great idea! Thank you. :)
Good! I hope you all have fun making them!
Thank you
