Couples hating things together is one of the most beautiful things ❤
Relationship goals.
Epson, bringing couples closer
The beauty of it is second only to Pete himself.
The underlying benefit is: If you hate something together you hate each other less. 😉
When my marriage lay in it's dying breath me and my wife had the best times when ranting about people we didn't like. Neighbors, relatives, random people, ... .
I mean, I think Bricky hates it, too!
I had that same printer. It had the same issues. It permanently broke after about a month. Needless to say it was therapeutic to watch you two destroy that piece of crap.😂
Meanwhile my Brother laser printer is one of, if not the, greatest purchases I have ever made.
Same with my cheap Samsung. If I wanted colour, I'd swallow the cost of something that could do photo quality; but that's so rare in my life that it's gotta be laser all the way. Gig tickets just in case my phone battery dies, the occasional postage label, anything I feel the need to slap down melodramatically on my boss's desk... Laser is the way ahead. With generic toner cartridge refills, obv.
I've still got a laser Brother printer I picked up from officeworks about jez, 10 years ago or so. Its literally too stupid to die, you plug a USB into it and it just works and I think its still on its first cartridge.
Best $84 printer I ever bought
It’s such a same you had to ruin a perfectly good trash can
Agree. We've got a brother laser hardwired to the network. Can print easily and reliably from any device with generic drivers. 3000 pages from a toner cartridge. Cheap to buy and run.
As someone else said, the $99-ish Brother laser printers are boring but have reasonable toner replacements and haven't led me or my friends/family wrong. It's wild how so many print device manufacturers have lowered quality while jacking up prices.
I came here to say this.
Plus you can get cheap toner carts for it.
Exactly what I bought. In black and white no less and no issues since I bought it many years ago. If I need anything color or fancy I just email it to Staples and they print it to whatever standards I want. Way cheaper and easier than messing with ink machines.
At this point, that trash can looks like it could fix my back problems
I tossed my last garbage inkjet into trash over a decade ago. Replaced it with a B/W Brother laser printer. Only recently bought a supplementary DNP Dye Sublimation Printer for color prints.
I carry the torch for inexpensive Brother laser printers, the multi-function ones in particular. Our current one is about 10 years old. It replaced an Epson, which worked fine for about 6 years of light use before dying. It had replaced an old Brother Multi-function laser I
had bought to use in my classroom 10 years before I retired. The original Brother died from lightning strike. It had endured school, cats, emergency exam printing when the school main copier died, everything. Brother laser forever! Go to the drug store/pharmacy to print nice photos with their fresh color ink and photo paper. Color ink is not a good buy for a sporadically used home printer.
Louis Rossmann recommends those, and he's all about longevity and repairibilty. I'll have to get one of them when I'm needing a printer some day.
Yep, I have a Dell E515dw which is actually manufactured by Brother. 6 years of solid performance. It's doing so well I even gave it a treat and used an actual OEM toner cartridge. For my biannual color printing needs, I go to the office supply store.
I bought the Brother multifunction colour laser printer and it's the best printer I've had in my entire life. Plug in to power connect to WiFi and print from any device on the network without a single issue. I didn't even install the Brother software. I've been using printers since they had a printer cable.
My Brother HL-5370DW is still going strong after 13 years. So yeah, thumbs up for Brother.
@@tincansailor9437I have the same one and it's been going strong forever now.
Mrs. Pete has the most beautiful smile as that printer falls to the ground !
The dedication you two have in destroying that overpriced POS shows what a pain trying to make it work has been. Smashing it with what is known locally as a maul had to be so cathartic for you both !
Yes, Mrs. Pete is an attractive bird! Well done Pete! Happy they are having fun together!
I miss my old laser printer, the print was crisp and never failed. We have a crap Epson now that usually won't connect wirelessly but there is no way to plug in a usb cable. Over the past decade we usually buy a cheap, crap printer once a year for the 3-4 times we need to print something but by the time we need it the ink has dried out or it won't connect. At this point, when I need to print something I just load it on a thumb drive and stop in at the Fed Ex store and use their copier.
I think that's what makes the printer scene from Office Space so funny, we've all been there.
how do we get out of this printer life prison
So what is the ideal edge angle for an epson printer?
Does it cut more or less twisted sisal rope than an HP or a Brother?
Can confirm this series is cursed. Had an eco tank printer for about 6 months. The print quality was bad and it would always print a slightly sideways print; no matter what physical or software based adjustment that we made to it. Thank you both for giving it the proper business!
Wow, I absolutely love my Epson Eco Tank.(2750) I print about 50-60 pages a day for my students and have never had a problem. Have printed thousands of pages at this point.
Had an epson printer, different model and it was problematic from the start, ended up in the bin within 2 weeks. Have had Brother DW series ever since and never an issue in years.
Impressive showing of solidarity between husband and wife, as they battle the powers that be
imagining your kids watching from inside the house thinking "we'd better stay on top of our chores!"
That was the most wholesome content I’ve seen in months.
We never got an Office Space sequel but this will do.
can recommend Brother laser printer, mine has basically no interface, you just type in the wifi password using the up/down buttons and then you can wifi print from any device
THANK YOU!!!! I've felt like I was taking crazy pills for the last few years. I hate my eco tank. I've unclogged it so many times only to have sub par results. I even had it professionally cleaned and it didnt last. I also had nothing but connection issues. Update, troubleshoot, re install..... NO CHANGE. I'm at the point where im ready to smash the thing or just give it away. The store said are you using it every Day? If you dont use it daily dont waste your money folks. 100% agree with this review👍🏻❤️👍🏻
Yes my brother laser takes the brunt of things, but we do have one of these epsons, never really had a problem but I don't use it very much
FWIW We did this circa 1998 in the DB trails behind my buddies house growing up. Filmed it on VHS and everything. Break what you brung. And cleanup your mess. We didn’t drink beer or shoot potato guns there either.
My parents work as accountants and since I’ve been a little kid I remember them going through countless Printers by numerous manufacturers, sometimes more than one a year.
With the only exception being a super Basic HP LaserJet that has been running without an issue for 20 years
I had a different Epson years ago, sounds about the same. One day, I gently loaded it onto the car, secured it all nice and safe, drove it about 10 minutes to an absolutely lovely public shooting range nestled deep in the pine forest hills, and let it have a closeup inspection of about a half a box of.30-06 rounds. Ya, cleanup was a pain, and the good people at the electronics recycling drop off had some funny looks as I dumped a box full of ex-printer into the bin, but it was worth it.
One of the greatest joys in life is destroying a damn printer. Seriously, science/engineering/tech people.... can we please finish printer technology before we move on to self-driving cars??!?
It sucks that when i run out of ink i buy a new printer for a fraction of the cost of the ink refills but here we are.
So good haha
Love the hand holding while burning moment 🔥🤣
Great video as always!
so my job has switched from printers from the early 2000's that we could barely keep ink/toner for but otherwise were great. to a brand new ricoh printer. holy shit are these things overdesigned, confusing as all hell, and frustrating. I'm starting to think that the printer companies are trying to train "printer engineers" as a way to get people to pay them for certifications. i shouldn't have to walk through 10 steps to figure out how to scan a damned sheet of paper or business card.
I love when you break out the trash can. True test of product durability.
Id love to hear other people worst purchase. Please comment so we can all collectively avoid that item. For me its a drill bit set by kobalt i got on sale at lowes. The bits were fine but the case they came in was the most horribly designed garbage ive ever seen.
My worst purchase was an aluminum shed i bought at Lowes, the boxed looked large enough that I thought it was a few large aluminum panels... it came in 600 pieces, 58 panels, 300 screws, 20 aluminum beam and none of the predrilled holes matched, took me 3 weeks and 4 cases of beer to finally build, sold the house 3 months later and left the shed along with everything it had inside
Just spend 20 dollars more and get dewalt
Oh Mine is also the Ecotank Printer 100%.
Milwaukee’s bit case is pretty awful too. Bosch and Makita are excellent however.
@@BartlettRacing66 it's funny you say that. I actually did. I got the new DeWalt ones where the bits and drill cases snap together. Best designed bit cases I've ever used. I
I run an epson wf7720 inkjet at my work as a sublimation printer, and it's great... In the context of a specialized commercial setting. I would never get one as a brain-off please just work home printer, because they're all a bit more involved in their setup and maintenance. Meanwhile i have a colour HP laser for home and it just works, everytime, no questions asked.
some real Office Space energy going on...my printer won't work with my computer(via hard line or wifi/bluetooth) but works perfectly with my phone via bluetooth lol
I LOVE these rants. FWIW i have an ET-8550 and it’s amazing. The next meaningful upgrade is like 3 times the price and the ink is still a racket for those. I have no experience with any other models.
I have a distant memory of being able to plug a printer in and it'd just work, but it could be my old age dementia playing tricks.
The way you both put your hands on the shifter to put the car in gear. Made me laugh so hard.👍
I haven't smiled this much at a printers destruction since office space.
My last job was 12 years at a non-profit where we refurbished donated computer equipment and gave it away. Ink printers were the worst. Best for occasional home and dorm room (student) use are the small HP laser printers like the 10-series (10xx). Laser printers use dry powder (toner) rather than wet ink so there is nothing to dry out if you don't use it very often. The downside of low-cost laser printers is they only print in black and they don't scan or copy.
Great extension on that bin throw! I found that I print so rarely that most inkjets clog up on me, Canon "bubblejet" printers are the only ones that have been reliable - cartridges are outrageously criminally expensive though.
That was poetry. The smile on your wifes face as the bin made contact with the printer . Pure joy
seeing the 2 of you sharing your intrests is truly heartwarming.
I feel your pain. My Brother flatbed scanner/printer/fax machine bricked itself through software obsolescence--just stopped making firmware updates for the model that was still perfectly operational. It could not communicate with the latest operating systems. Fortunately, I bought it used for $25. But that doesn't make it any less of a problem for our landfills.
We've had pretty good luck with Canon and HP, FWIW.
I have one of these, not sure if it’s the identical but it’s an EcoTank.. it works perfectly, love it.
The couple that slays together stays together.
That was f**king epic! I have never seen anyone hate something so much!!! LMAO 😂
"The Revenge of Canzilla and Lady Sledge", a love story. Good on you two, feel better now? I would.
I have been on the search for printer journey and what I usually like is printers that has printheads IN the ink cartridges and has a low ink bypass button/function, then i will use a needle to refill ink, and if the print is looking bad (stripy) I will submerge the printhead in distilled water and wipe it with alcohol a little bit to clear out the gunk. Another bonus is having access to knock off ink that is significantly cheaper but even then injecting ink is still more economical.
I purchased an Epson eco tank 3850 and have had good luck with it, the only issue was after a week I had to reinstall the software after upgrading my Mac OS. I do understand your pain as I had similar issues with 2 Brother Printers. I’m sorry your not having good luck sir.
The joy on your faces during the demo. A lot of frustrations coming out. We had an Epson which was a piece of shit for a couple of years. Finally got a Brother laser printer about a year ago, flawless so far... Loved the out takes!
I can see that Bricky is appalled by the Epsom's presence.
We switched to a color laser and never looked back. No moor ink or print head issues. The laser sits for weeks or months and works when we need it. We got the cheapest Cannon from Walmart, about $300 two years ago.
This was hilarious. I don’t think you’ve ever been so frustrated in a video and the retribution was great.
Great work as always Pete, but I can't help but think there was a missed opportunity for including Geto Boys' "Still" while pummeling the printer.
Then again, I don't know if "office space" was even a thing in Australia.
My parents had an Epson printer in the early 2000’s. It was the biggest piece of junk. Every time you wanted to use it, it would start cleaning or going through some other 20 minute process before it would print. Love the channel!
Hi Pete. I'm behind on your videos and getting caught up on cut tests. This one is is hysterical and nicely done.
Thats the happy ending to a disaster movie. I had tears in my eyes.
That was hilarious and cathartic. You two are looking quite vibrant and healthy these days, love to see it.
Neither do I own nor do I need a printer, yet here I am, sipping my coffee and watching your tirade on Epson printers for no reason at all other than just enjoying you review stuff. Maybe do a review of orthopaedic insoles or dollar store USB-C cables next. I'd defo watch that.
I have enjoyed almost all of your videos since finding your channel maybe six months ago. Have bought a couple of knives that you recommended and am happy with them. I have also purchased three Epson eco tank printers (one for my wife & I and two for my college students) none have had any of the problems that you have had and all have had a huge amount of use (saving a ton of money in ink). The college students shared with roommates for four years. I have been using mine for seven plus years. All three have the larger black ink tank, so not a direct comparison, but my three experiences have been great.
It gave you some measure of enjoyment in the end, the smiles on your faces said it all😁
I also had an Epson a couple of years back. It seems like every time I had to print something it took like 2 hours of messing with it. If it wasn't the ink, it was connectivity issues. That was hilarious! Awesome video!
You went full Office Space on that printer. 😂
One of the most uplifting films you have done. I fucking HATE printers.. They realy get on my nerves. I could realy identify with the feeling of dread when you realize you need something printed. Or worse.. You have to print something for your child/wife.. Glad to see the garbagebin of doom so expertly wielded by the wife
I agree. I’m in the exact same boat. No decent app support. Frustration upon frustration. Subbed because you guys are so funny lol.
The absolute joy on your faces as you destroy evil. Priceless.
Got an Eco-Tank as well and I've gotta say: it's one of the best printers I've had so far. Yup, the print quality is just "sufficient", but I don't need good print quality anymore - because - who prints nowadays? I also have problems with connectivity pretty rarely - no matter if using an iPhone or a Mac. But yep, I had to reinstall the printer a couple of days ago - for no special reason and printing from the phone had some hiccups in the beginning.
I also didn't have any problems with my ink drying up - yup, you've got to clean the nozzles when you don't print for too long, but that's the way ink printers work - and every inkjet does that.
It also takes ages to print sometimes, but it's printing. My ink also didn't dry out - I just put it in in the beginning when I bought it some years ago and have been printing with the first bottle(-s) of ink since then and refilled once, I think. (did I mention I don't print much?)
Seems way less troublesome than your model. It was also one of the earlier models and WAY cheaper - maybe their tactic was "let's build some useful variants first to get the word out and then we'll make them crap again so people buy it more often".
Sad. I thought the end of times of cash-grabbing with printers was being introduced with the eco-tanks :-/ Can't be that hard building a reliable printer you can refill, can it?
Holy catz! I've never seen the Mrs do a bin-bash before 🤣
I had an Epson at my last job. I already hated the brand and warned against it, but it was cheap and did what we needed (at first). $500 for ink that was used up cleaning the print heads anytime you needed to use its most very basic function.
I was going to say “nice move letting the wife get in the first throw” but I guess it was the first few throws. Still great. Nice to see you two get one good thing out of that printer. Thanks for the entertainment and the warning! Looking forward to a trash can review as it seems you’ve been through a few.
Ive got one of this range, I don't have the print quality issue, but it's a real palaver getting it to recognise paper and print out more than one sheet. I only need to use it once a year or so, but my stomach sinks when i realise i need to use it.
Colour inkjet printers are the pull-through sharpeners of the printer world. Basic rules for living in harmony with printers...
- If you print regularly get a monochrome tank printer
- If you print irregularly get a monochrome laser
- Never buy a cartridge printer
- If you are Uncle Randy buy a HP LaserJet IIP, dot matrix or line printer
One Epson eco tank feature I have noticed is that they draw about the same amount of power even when you turn them off. The only thing that seems to happen is that the green light on the power button goes out
😂love that last double drive over , my wife is my favorite smart/ funny person in the world besides the mini me, glad love ❤️ continues down under….
I’ve been waiting for another vid. This brings me much joy to see another upload.
this is a wonderful video and you two are also the most adorable couple i want to be your friend so bad. keep it up the content is great
Office Space did it first. "Back up in your ace with the resurrection."
I have an ET-2800, been pretty happy with it so far. From what I gather, if you don't use it regularly then you have these types of issues. If you print regularly then it's fine.
I have not owned a printer in something like 10 years. If I need anything printed out, I do it at work
That's some Office Space worthy destruction there.
I had an Epson workforce 2750, given to me for free. Biggest piece of junk. Never could scan, barely could print. Constantly ran out of ink when it had printed nothing. It was the woooooorrssstttt.
I laughed, I cried, I learned what printer to not buy... Fantastic review. Although it's your fault now that I'll never be able to watch another printer review again. How could any compare?
Brother printers. Only cheap brand that seems to work.
Cue the Geto Boys track...
My dad has an Epson Printer. It failed when I needed important documents, would never buy an Epson printer ever.
I had an old Epson printer as well that was the worst printer I ever owned, and it was really expensive. I ended up buying a small "All in one" Printer and scanner from Canon (I believe) during a batch sale, It cost me about 1/5 of the Epson printer and it was so refreshing to have something that just worked. I gave it to my auntie when I moved about 3 years ago, and I'm sure she still uses it to this day. I don't think I will ever buy an Epson product ever again 🤣
This is perhaps one of the best, most relatable and entertaining videos I have EVER seen! I can't eve describe just how on-point you are about printers. I absolutely despise printers because no matter what brand you buy, (Epson, HP, Lexmark, etc) no matter what type you buy, (Ink or Laser) it always costs too much for something that you'll barely ever use anymore, dread having to use, and will always require some degree of struggling to get to yield acceptable results. Plus, no matter how much you spend, it's always going to feel cheap, flimsy, and like you're going to break it anytime you touch it, because you probably eventually will, voluntarily or otherwise.
I think that's what makes the scene in Office Space so funny/memorable, because everyone has struggled with printers, and even decades later, they're still finnicky garbage that you'd just like to take to the center of a field somewhere and destroy.
It's really a wonder how printers ever even caught on to begin with when to this very day it would honestly require less effort to use a typewriter to manually reproduce any number of forms/documents than it typically does to print them.
I dont even keep a printer. I'll print at work, or I'll go to my local library to print. It's very rare, like you said, that you actually need to print something lol
I gave up on all printers about 5 years ago, and although I do have a black and white laser printer in my basement in case I have to print out some tabs for a guitar lesson, if I ever need a nice print, I just send it digitally to staples for like 15 cents a sheet and pick it up the next day …. They are alllllll scammsss
A truly heartwarming story about love, family and shared hate against evil engineers whose mantra is "Satan is my Lord"
Mine has worked flawlessly for years. It’s a 3750 and I recommend it as the best printer I’ve owned.
Thanks for the Chuckles! Good Fun
World's best knife channel.
Amazing review! Just the pure look of happiness that you guys had throwing the bin at the printer made my day!
I got a free brother laser jet printer and I’ve used off brand toner, no problems brother. Don’t know if it’s an Aussie supply thing?
I'll never buy another inkjet printer. I don't print enough to keep the print heads from clogging up. Got a Canon color laser (which are WAAY cheaper than they used to be) and it's been gold.
I haven't watched your videos in awhile. It's good to be back. I'd like to say that you are your wife are looking better than ever! You both are almost glowing.
I love it 🥰 when tree does videos, she gives my wife something to aspire to with her ambivalence towards knives, mine currently just hates them 😂
I picture you and your wife sitting on the porch in your old age laughing at the memory you just created...Bravo!
Laser printer is the way to go. I've had Samsung and Brother, both good, and cheap. Deal of the century; I bought a Brother laser printer at the thrift store, 75% off day, so I paid $1.31 US! Works great, has lots of toner left. I don't do much printing, but it's still handy to have a printer.
i have an ecotank black and white printer. We use it every day. Probably run 20k sheets through it so far. No problems.🤷
Likewise
We have a similar Epson printer, it fucking sucks. But then again, I've yet to own a home printer of any make that doesn't absolutely suck. Never once has a printer just connected and done it's fucking job when prompted to.
I had a printer that started acting up, my knife fell in the feed tray and it was a pain to fish out.
HP is no better. I've been buying HP printers, Laserjets and Inkjets since 1990. Most of the later printers were All-In-Ones with copy and scan functions. The HP software for over 30 years has NEVER worked as it should. Won't scan or will only scan into HP proprietary format files which can't be used on any other printer , and will only copy in certain layouts. The newest one can't print a frickin envelope. The printer head gets stuck on the envelope seams and leaves smears and blobs of ink. The newer they are, the worse they run. And now they back talk you if you use re-filled toner or ink cartridges. They only sell printers so they can hose you on the toner/ink. The aftermarket refills usually print as well or better than the HP new carts. Anymore, I only print shipping labels for my ebay sales. Everything else is electronic. I liked the satisfied smiles you both had after you demolished that piece of junk!!
As someone who owns an ET2760, stay away from it if you're not printing often or don't need to print enthusiast grade pictures. I have task scheduler running it every 3 days to stop the print heads from drying out which causes me to use a lot of ink. I would have probably been better served with a laser printer.
