The upside to my lab not using automated machines is that we can run 110 about as cheaply as anything else, we just have a slower turnaround. :) (Alas, locals only because we can't handle the volume nor do we want to compete against other labs.) Love that they made this camera with some solid quality and modern scanning definitely makes 110 a little more viable than back in the day, at least in my opinion.

I can't judge if the quality here really makes a difference with the Agfmatic cameras from the 70's that I have ! This camera is quite expensive comparing to all the good enough 110 cameras that we can get on Ebay. But definitely love so much to shoot 110 films and would love to have this camera too !! I use Film Processing in Cornwall to get the dev+scan of these and yeah it's pricey :/

Molly Kate!!! Yet another exciting video??? We can only stand so much excitement!!! I must say that Lomography could have just reissued any old compact 110 camera, but though this one is similar in style and ergonomics to the 110 'push-pull' cameras -- it was *way* more features. And that is great because film photography can be as simple as 'point & shoot' -- or choose everything -- and Lomography has done a pretty decent job at giving their customers all of those options with this camera.... OK -- I need to take a nap -- too much excitement for today (shot a roll of Gold 120 in my Holga WPC today for World Pinhole Photography Day)!!

Well thought out, with the exception of the lacking tripod mount for B mode. Especially the prospect of not having "mandatory flash use forced down my throat, won my heart! A suggestion, in line with the "essentials" philosophy of this design: How about a velcro patch or a magnet? @ Developement prices: What if photographers were willing to pay partially with time? People agree to wait until a laboratory had received a profitable batch of orders?

I LOVE 110 film and I would love to shoot much more of it, but as you said, getting it dev/scanned is SO expensive. Here in NYC, there are a few labs that have been around for awhile and have the capability to easily develop it for the same cost as a roll of 35, but the scanning bumps up the cost by A LOT because they all have to do it manually.
Alas... it will, at least for the time being, be a special occasion film type.

110 is definitely far more economical to develop at home. Lomography sells a 110 mask to scan the film using a digital camera. Back in the 1960's and 1970's I used to process 16mm film, and reload 16mm cameras. They are virtually the same size as 110. They are fiddly to get onto the spools for the developing tank in the dark, but once loaded, everything else is easy. Best thing is it is possible to do several rolls in one batch with very careful attention to agitation.
Something I have not done yet, is find a supplier of empty cartridges and loading fresh film into cartridges would mean expanded film options. I would like to try Delta 400 for a fine grain fast black and white. That is on the future experiments list.
I love the look of Orca and Metropolis in 110. I haven't tried '92 yet. I wish Lomography would put CN400 into 110 cartridges, and I keep hoping they will bring back Peacock film.
This new camera is brilliant except for the lack of tripod thread.

Currently using the Rollei A110 which is half the size of the Lomomatic! And also the Pentax Auto 110. Both are excellent but I still want the Lomomatic. I’’m thinking in the peaches and cream colour, just because that is so fun!

I have blank frames and I've already shot 5-6 rolls of various stocks with mine. I have the silver model and the shutter button is just easy to press in such a way that the shutter doesn't open but the camera thinks it did. At least that's what I think is happening. I’m old enough to remember the launch of the 110 film cartridge. At the time I thought , Why? Cheap 126 cameras weren't that much larger and the bigger negative gives a better quality image. The 110 cartridge was a novelty killed off by digital phone cameras. Now someone is relaunching it the question is still, why?
If you want a small film camera, get yourself a used Olympus AX. You’ll pick one up for about the same cost as the model you are testing. It’s a full frame 35mm camera that fits easily in the pocket. It has an excellent 35mm f2.8 Zuiko lens focusing from 0.58m to infinity with a coupled rangefinder in the viewfinder. Shutter speeds from 1 sec to 1/500 second. Max aperture f2.8 min f22. It has a built in aperture priority metering system. Select your aperture and a needle in the viewfinder tells you the shutter speed the camera will use. A sliding clam shell cover protects the lens and disconnects the shutter release when closed. Other manufacturers produced similar models.
Best of all it uses standard 35mm film cassettes. The cheapest film with the largest choice available these days. It’s also the cheapest to get processed, and anywhere that processes film will process 35mm. If you’re shooting Black & White the equipment to process your own film doesn’t cost the earth, and is relatively easy to do.
I suppose it could be argued that the lens is too sharp to be “cool”. Maybe put the camera in a clear plastic bag to take your images!
