  • The 70s are back with 110 Film & Cameras! Amazingly, they are the professional tool I never would have imagined just a few years ago. In this review I go over ALL aspects of the Lomographic 110 camera and film plus tips on how to get more out of the system. I also compare this new offering to my beloved Cannon 110 ED and 110 ED 20 which represent the highest in vintage 70’s 110 lux.
This is a part one in a series of videos that will focus on all aspects of 110.
Also stay tuned for the official announcement and release of the largest ever 110 exhibition at the Hayfield Art Gallery, Indian Hill Imageworks- home of artists EveNSteve in Pawlet, Vermont- on display now till May 2025.

Thank you for a helpful video. I am three films in and getting used to my Lomomatic 110 and its handling. Your information is just what I need. I have found a workround for tripod mounting the Lomomatic; I use a Wotan SC18 flash which is made to clamp on to a 110 camera. It has a tripod bush in its clamp, its straight forward to use and was designed to be used like this. I bought this flash decades ago, it is a slave flash and intender to five more light than the internal flash, I used it for group shots. I also recall clamp on adapter for 110 cameras that had a plunger to which a cable release could be attached, I am looking for one for my Lomomatic. I also have the Canon 110, it is a superb camera.

I got my hands on a Rollei A110 and I do like it very much because of it compactness. I even managed to acquire some (already expensive) flash cubes... Still I ordered a lomomatic 110 because of the possibilities you describe so good in this video.
This was the second video I've seen (after a 6x17 format one which made me dump my wish do buy a Noblex) and now I'm subsribed.
    Thanks for your awesome insight.

This is a random comment, but perhaps you'll appreciate the premise.
I only shoot digital. I have a Mamiya 645 and Canon AE-1 that I could shoot film on, but I don't. It's a hassle. I still love your channel because it shows me what film shooting is like. (I'm not against shooting film, I'm just saying it's more complicated.) I love that it requires you to slow down, be more frugal with your shots, and to make choices more judiciously.
By watching your channel and taking more time and being more patient with my digital pictures, I hope to get better results.

So cool-- thank you-- will be doing some digital reviews and reflecting on how it relates to film and where the crossovers are in the near future. Happy shooting!

So I’m curious about the double click on the shutter. Lots of people are getting unexposed frames. Myself included. If the first click is the shutter and the second is the film release, shouldn’t people be getting double exposed frames rather than unexposed ones? First click is shutter means every time anybody presses the shutter the frame gets exposed. If it’s how I think then first click releases the film transport and that’s when people stop because they heard the click. The film doesn’t get exposed and they wind on to the next shot. Doesn’t that make more sense?

You can run this simple test as I did-- have no film in the camera- open the back door and make an exposure- you can see the first click opens the shutter and the second closes it- the deep click is the film advance… my suspicion is the metering system- I shoot everything one stop over exposed and get perfect results so if you are shooting 200 just set meter to 100.

I cannot for the life of me get the shutter to fire with the back door open. With the door open I’ll give it a couple of “pumps” to see if that cocks the shutter. I’ve also tried doing that with the door closed and then I’ll open it up. With the back open I press the shutter and it won’t release. Almost like there is some mechanism in there that needs a film canister present to make it work. I’m not sure how you get yours to fire with the door open.

Actually, even with a fully spent cartridge in place I can’t get the shutter to fire. Do you cock your shutter with a film cartridge in and then open the door, ruin one frame, remove the cartridge and then fire the shutter to see if it’s opening?

Just click the multiple exposure MX switch on the bottom of the camera and you can shoot with the door open

Lomo fail ... no tripod socket nor self timer in this selfie world !! Come on. I enjoy your artists view of this 110 medium. Looking forward to the 110 project film. 🌿Bless🕊

This thing has one problem, unfortunately. There are not many labs developing 110 film anymore. And sending it to Lomography, well...
I have the suspicion that Lomo Tiger is Kodak Gold. Of course, they won't tell you but it must be...
