I found your channel doing research on saltwater fish, I work as aquatics ‘specialist’ at my local Petco and you’ve helped me a lot with learning to properly care for them while they’re at our store, and to educate guests looking to partake in these beautiful fish. You need more popularity man, you have clear information and you cover everything with bits of fun information. Keep it up man, you’ve got my subscription and I’m excited to keep learning from you
I’ve had a maroon clown fish for quite a few months in the same tank as 3 other clown fish of all different species and colors. My maroon clown fish is not aggressive at all and shows no territorial aggression. He is very healthy, and I saw him at the fish store alive and well for 3 months before I decided to buy him. 10/10 maroon clown fish.
I’d love to see a video series on setting up my first tank. And how long to wait to add things, etc. I’m wanting to go 50 gallons. I’ve watched some of the BRStv videos, and they are so overwhelming with too much information.
Hi I am planning to set up a nano tank I really want to keep shrimps (cleaner shrimp, camel shrimp and sexy shrimp) I am just afraid that the clownfish will eat them May i know what your opinion on this thx (I am planning to get a common clown)
Our friend who used to work in retail had a saltwater fish tank at his house. Inside of it were clownfish. What is the average lifespan of a clownfish?
I haven’t finished watching the video and i have to go do some hw but I just wanted to say it’s very information and I look forward to getting into the hobby and exploring ur page more
Love the Chanel how many clown fish can I put in a 36 gal tank Frist time with a fish tank I’m still learning and researching and watching a lot of TH-cam videos what to you recommend
Hi I have a 20 gal anemone only tank and every time I add a group of clowns they die within days. All of my parameters are fine. I have have my water tested numerous times and they all come in fine. What do you think is wrong?
20 gallons is very difficult to keep *stable* water parameters in. The fact that you have thriving anemones may speak to the fact that you can handle that kind of difficulty, but... it may be the anemones reacting badly, it may be oxygenation, hard to say without more info. Any success yet?
Bro I’d never though I’d be stressing about the quality of my fishes marriage every time I see them fight I’m like please don’t get a divorce my tanks not that big
This is pretty late but thanks for this! I have fresh water nano-shrimp and an Axolotl ad I've been curious about starting up a saltwater tank! This taught me a lot! I'm still generally learning about parameters and maintenance! I pretty much started the aquarium hobby off rough with an axolotl and I'm finally ready to make the jump to saltwater tanks :D if anyone has any tips please let me know
I’m having a hard time keeping anomie alive. They do awesome until I feed them. They come back and by the end of the week they start disintegrating. At 7 days they are dead. We have tested all of the water constantly. My friend has them as well and she has a RO system. I get mine at the fish store. Hers are doing awesome. The only difference is the water. But after 2 days it has a fishy smell after I do a water change. Could it be where I buy my water?
I'm pretty new to the hobby but everything I have read says anemones are difficult advanced corals. They're best suited for a mature and very stable tank. They also need very bright lighting I believe. It sucks it keeps dying, but unfortunately it shouldn't be a surprise if you are not an advanced keeper with a stable mature tank
what is the coral they seem to love to float around in. And can black and white clownfish be with the orange and white? and what is the black and white clown is a female will it fight with the orange and white female? Do the males fight?
You can pair different variants of the same species, but they must be the same species. If you put a maroon clown with say and oscellaris , they'll fight to the death. When you get a pair, they will fight until they decide who becomes the female. Clown fish are able to change their sex when they pair. The smaller one will be the male, and the larger one becomes the female.
"Sorry Europeans" The entire world: " i speak Fahrenheit" Btw, just an FYI, people do keep clowns below 1.02. And in Asia, people have converted them to full fresh.
@7:33 Did you just say PH is dictated by detritus and nutrient levels in the tank lol Thats a hard no, not even close. Your explanation sounds more like for Nitrates
8:31 the funny thing is only Americans use Fahrenheit as a measure of temperature because in Asia, Europe, Australia, South America, and African countries, we use Celsius as a measure of temperature 🤣

I think u guys have a amazing pair of clowns and I’m going to share this video on my Insta !

@@SomeThingsFishy I was wondering if it was possible to have a fake anemone in my tank. Would it still make it natural?

Fantastic! Keep us updated with everything!
How’s the saltwater tank going is it hard to maintain?

Question what type of dry rock for 2 clown fish and royal gramma in a 20 gallon tank
As long as it’s designed for saltwater it doesn’t really matter. Amazon has bulk dry rock for cheap, but your local fish store is going to be best.

i love this video! thanks! but i do have one question. so online, ive seen fake anemones made out of silicone. will the clownfish still host those?
Yup, a clown could host grass if it wants to.
Do they mate in captivity if i get like 4 clowns one being a female and no other fish in tank
I love midnight clowns, gold nugget and naked beautiful fish

Yea
Clown fish are not always coral safe! I have 1 hosting a torch right now, but it tried to host my hammer and adjusted it so bad it decided to jump!
What breed of clownfish isn't as coral safe? We have mainly had ocellaris and percula and have never had any problems.
I think it's oscellaris, some corals don't like fish trying to host them and they will jump from the skeleton to try and survive.
do you have to have a male and female pair to keep with anemones, how do you tell from male and female.
Watch the video. He explains it around 09:05
What kind of anemone are they dancing in?
Feed your clownfish 3-5 time a week.
Can I put any nano fish inside my 15 gallon tank with my pair of Clownfish? If so could you please name them to me? Very informative video btw.
Some damselfish, firefish or dragonets.👌

You should only use RODI water for saltwater aquariums.

The coral is an anemone. It's not a beginner coral and shouldn't be in tanks under 8 months old
awesome video tbh
Acidic is under 7. It is alkaline above 7.

No, but it’s really nice to have!
but i do like them got 4 of them

No get 2 they will be aggressive to the 3rd fish

None with 10 gallons. 2 clowns is already pushing the bio load there

is 3 clownfish in a 23gallon okay
I wouldn’t. Harem tank can work because clownfish aggression is spread out over many fish, but only 3 would result in one being the most beat up.

Always get even number of clownfish!! Never have one single out. The other pairs will kill it 100%. Either have 2,4,6 etc

does taking care of them requires anemone? will they die if I dont have anemone for now?
They do not need anemones at all
If you're just setting up a tank you probably should hold off on anemones until it's well established
You do NOT need anemone. Do not buy them if you're a beginner, they're challenging to care for
