What a really good video showing the boxster. Thought I knew everything about them but still learned stuff. The only thing I would mention is road tax because it varies greatly between different ages. Stunning colour.
Thanks Craig good point, I might make a separate video on road tax as you rightly mention it does vary a lot. Stay tuned for the drive review, the engine sound has come out perfectly, I’m hoping it will be the best 987 boxster drive video on TH-cam 👍
Great car. I’ve just unfortunately got rid of mine, 2005, just one bill too many! If you want to buy one, get all the coolant pipe work checked as this will set you back well over £2000 to replace. The control unit under the passenger seat is also in a ridiculous place, water can get into this area which infects the unit leading to a replacement, not cheap. Porsche Cardiff told me this is their most common job to do. The longest I’ve kept any car, shame it had to go.
Hi love your content interesting to see. i have the Boxster 987 2005 just on 65k 2.7 . had 5yrs now never a dull moment living in Fife Scotland we have some magic B roads , see you have the white dials etc i thought they were only on the Boxster S , as were the red front calipers ? it's on a great millage do you have history going back on the infamous bearings etc. keep up the good work thanks.AS
Hi Alex thanks for your kind words, I imagine your roads are better than ours in the south, to much traffic. The white dials were an option when new, according to the service book, and I only have the service book history no supplemental documentation, what was I thinking 😂. I’m working on a project for 2025, and this car is going to help me better understand the ups and downs of ownership. I’ve just filmed the drive video and I can’t wait to share it in a couple of weeks time, just need to get some extra footage. Thanks again 👍

You don’t actually need to start the engine to put the roof up or down. Just turn the key to the position before ignition. That works on my 987.2
