Thank you for your comments it’s nice to have a lady enjoying boxster content, the TH-cam data would suggest that there are not many off you. I have Porsche in my DNA so I’m sure another Porsche will come along at some point when I have the funds to maintain it properly. My brother started my boxster fund so it was great to share the experience with him. You are right Basil the boxster gave me a lot of joy and I really miss him, so does my cat Gucci who took to sleeping on the roof. Thanks again and good luck with your channel I think you might be on to something there, hair extensions have become very popular in the UK might be something to explore as well.
That’s a real shame. Yes they are addictive and expensive to keep, but well worth the stress. Mine is currently hiding under a cover from the storm. I do hope you decided to get another, there are plenty out there looking for a good home.
As I said the other week Graham, I just love your enthusiasm. You really need another Boxster. Mine is Arctic silver, but I always loved the Cobalt Blue.
My 2006 987 went for a solo drive down a hill as I watched from the pavement, straight into the front of a parked polo. Still it wasn’t written off and a month later both cars were back on the road. I’m surprised that yours was written off as a result because the damage looks simple to fix. I’d get a mate to buy it back cheap from auction and get it back on the road lol
Hi Aidan, if only that was caught on video. Unfortunately my car had very high mileage and needed some work carried out prior to the accident, just wasn’t financially worth it for me.
At least you had the experience of the car and didn’t lose to much money you were probably going to get a massive cost for one of the associated weak points of Porsches fails.
Sorry to hear this , you loved that car , I used to have a 987.1 2.7 5 speed manual loved it .... was black with the sport seats and Bose , so what are you getting next ? It's like a addiction you won't be happy until your next one ..... 😂
Thank you, sports seats and Bose is a great combination. My mates offered me his black 987.1 2.7 manual which is a nice car, black with gray interior. I’m just waiting on a couple of projects to land before jumping into the expensive porsche ownership game again. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
@ If you can push the boat out I can't recommended a 987.2 3.4 boxster bang for buck they are a fantastic car , theres a few for around 13/14k on auto trader , you love your cayman R and spyder get the same running gear for half the price ! Got to be the affordable dream bargain.... same tax as the 2.7 and same running costs .... just been out on a burn up in mine today never gets boring and can run with any of the older 911s 996 and 997 and just as fast a 991 3.4 , even when my friend had his 991 3.8 I was on his case down the twisty.... I couldn't of touch him in my 2.7 as good as it was ....
HI Rich, can't find anyway to message you, feel free to message me directly via my details in the video description or via the about section on my channel page.
I am surprised you accepted such a low offer, your own insurer or 3rd party claim speciaist would undoubtedly have got you a far higher price. I would also have bought it back - I have done this twice, once for 10% of the agreed value and once for 12.5%. Looks like an extremely easy repair too.
@@thedrivebygg I havent seen a 987 at that price at all and yours looked like a good spec. They should pay you what it would cost to fnd a similar car locally to you. The other insurer will always low-ball in my experience. When one of my cars was written off, ny recovery agent got them to up their offer by 40%
@ no they are not I have a 987 in the uk you will struggle to buy a decent 987 for less than 7k a car under 90k you looking like 8k that’s too cheap that’s my opinion anyway!
WTF.... Unless a chassis leg was bent I can't believe that they wrote the car off for a front wing and some associated brackets underneath. I would have taken the payout and then bought it back from the insurance company and fixed it.
Hi Simon , I feel your frustration. My boxster had 172k miles on the clock and prior to the crash needed at least a couple of grand spending on it, just didn’t add up financially to keep it, especially when I can buy a replacement boxster for £5k in the UK. The buy back fee was £1299, and tbh I needed the cash at the time as I’m currently out of work. Thanks for commenting hope you liked the videos on basil.
To be fair, it never makes sense to buy an old Porsche! I have a 2007 base boxster. I've had it 3 years and spent over £6k fixing what needs fixing. I'd still buy another one. Yes, a fool and his money are soon parted. I hope you get something that gives you the same buzz.
@@thedrivebygg Porsche is the name of the car brand. They have a 15 second video on YT for English folk, on how to pronounce it. It happens to be a family’s last name, please be respectful to them. You wouldn’t want to be called “Greave” instead of “Greavett”, I guess. Cheers.
I’d love you to have another Boxster. This one seemed to bring joy to you ❤

The car looked repairable to me. I’m sure Matt Armstrong would have had it back on the road in under 24 hours.
😂, for me it made financial sense to hand it over to the insurance company

Thank you, maybe early next year for the next one 👍

Thanks means a lot, hopefully soon, boxsters are such a good looking car.

Thanks Henry, I enjoy the convertible experience to much 😂👍

Hi Kevin, you’re correct there were other jobs that needed doing. Lots of fun had in this boxster 👍

Great tribute to your 987 ownership. I have an idea for a 987 part II. DM me for a chat. Cheers, Rich
Thanks! Will do!

When’s the new Boxster arrive. Sad times!
Hi Simon, not sure what I’m going to do yet. I’ve got an option to by my friends 987 Boxster but I just need to sort my job situation out first

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately the car had £172k miles on the clock, I can’t see any insurer offering more.

@@MikePaterson Well done Mike that's amazing, i thought i did quite well based on the mileage.
@ Best wishes with your next car 😊
I have to say I agree that is far too low for that car!
Oh so sad, will you buy another one?
I’m sorry that is too low a good example is worth 8k I know yours has high milage but that’s not enough at all a 986 would cost that!
Hi Jonathan the UK Boxster market prices are low.

Why let it die for a wing and some paint?
Hi Simon it was a little more than that, just didn’t make financial sense to keep it.

Who’s the insurance company I might go buy it???
It was sold to copart but I think the auction ended a couple of weeks ago.
Poorsh? Really??
I have no idea what you mean?
It's a German manufacturer called Porsche, not Porsh
