I have used this "paper mache clay".... It works well, BUT two warnings: 1) It hardens into something much like concrete, which can't be easily sanded. In fact, I had to use a grinder to smooth my model. 2) It's quite a bit heavier than regular papier mache... so you can expect that it will add significant weight.

That’s an awesome sculpture! I’m doing an 8’ long rocket ship with cardboard and reclaimed wood for the inner shape to support the chicken wire for the outer skin over all that. I came here to find the easiest papier-mâché to use to coat the chicken wire. I’m glad you used that paper-mâché artist for the recipe - she’s awesome but I’ve never tried her way. You’ve made it look so easy, so that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks!

Pretty cool! *here’s a tip, you can pick up a BIG spool of thicker gage wire in the automotive section. (Or a automotive part store - they use it for welding and soddering joints) Different types (what it’s made of) and gauges (thickness).

We were also required to make a model of the animal. I was running out of ideas on how to make it, and this video was an absolute lifesaver! It was really fun making the model.
