      Frankly most people think reasonably or somewhat moderately like this. We are talking about political minorities that control the media, and corporations that bend the knee to communist Chinese views for money, and thus control the perception. It's reaching a boiling point where more and more people are realizing what this is, I feel, but a lot of damage has already been done/continues to be done. Many people have left the woke movement and continue to do so in increasing numbers, after they realize it has become a pseudo-religion (and especially after their city gets burned down).

      Yeah I just still don't understand the "game is rigged" stuff. There are very good jobs out there that are increasingly going unfilled. Jobs that will absolutely get you into the six figure bracket in a decade.
      I have a young immigrant kid across the street from me who is balling out working construction. His parents still can't speak English but they did well after immigrating and there kid has pandemic proof employment, a house in his early 20's, a nice truck, etc. He's doing better than some people almost twice his age nowhere near paying off school debt while justifying an $1800/month one room apartment in a declining city.

      douglas is pretty on point. i appréciate his words. but he seems to not réalise his beautiful europe actually plundered and pillage much of the world, made themselves rich of the resources of others then when those oppressed people need help or want to move because of their own economic problems he says no stay there. dont come here we dont need you anymore. not to mention he seem to think that europe invited people over to do jobs then they should have sent them back.. its like dude come on.. you use a people struggling whom you have spent hundreds of years subjugating then when they come to you for help you get mad. granted he représente a small fraction of this mentality in europe but it comes across as very bigoted. and i know he is not..

    The idiotic thing about this revenge is that these individuals never suffered the things they are seeking revenge for. So who are they seeking revenge for - because it wasn't them that suffered. It's an imaginary feeling that they are sating because they have no right to seek retribution often on the behalf of people that are no longer alive and didn't bequeath their feelings as a legacy.

    Fantastic. I've listened to lots of Douglas' interviews about The Madness of Crowds, and as time has passed his distaste for all the various wokisms has become more pronounced, and rightly so. It is a joy to hear someone present what is so obviously true so eloquently. Even the wokists know they're fighting against truth, that's why they become so angry, because it doesn't matter how intellectual or abstract your concepts are, the truth does not change.

    • @daviru02
      @daviru02 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      That's precisely why they don't want to hear any argument against their side. Because they know their argument may fall apart.

    • @fortusvictus8297
      @fortusvictus8297 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I'd consider a counter-argument here. Ever considered 'they' don't consider themselves as fighting against any fixed 'truth' but rather they may be coming from the point of view that the 'truth' they are being fed is a creation of systems/hierarchies/people over time and are subject not only to change but should be reset and reinvestigated in a 'progressive' manner?
      Its not a new thing, itsa pretty old concept going all the way back to before the Bolsheviks but here it is. It's that process is actively taught in the Universities at the undergrad level and given terms like 'post-modern' and 'progressive' and young students with very little grasps on the traditional concepts they have just been exposed to are then told to deconstruct them and subject them to dogmatic screening for acceptance into the good graces of their peers.

    Several thoughts on this interview
    1. Peter Robinson's preparation for these interviews is outstanding. He actually reads the books, asks great questions and has the perfect mix between speaking/listening.
    2. Douglas Murray has the magical ability to take the issues that we know are wrong but we don't have the ability to accurately articulate the problem.
    3. In this Woke world of cancel culture, you have to give Murray a great deal of credit for speaking out. His harsh views on BLM, George Floyd and big tech companies takes a tremendous amount of courage.
    4. The only issue I have with Douglas Murray is latest conversations are too much on LGBTQ. I want him to speak more about US race issues, biased world media and the wokeness of major corporations.

    Isn't is interesting that "conveniently" just when people were getting along, certain "fragile and volatile groups" have been spurred to action and the coals of discomfort have been stoked into flames of dissention? Those who believe this is happenstance are confused and those that think it is the natural order are truly lost.

Douglas Murray is a true intellect and his depth of knowledge gives him a legitimacy that not many have earned. It's not just his depth of knowledge, but also his wonderful ability to communicate, that puts him head and shoulders above many current intellectuals. I really enjoyed this! Well worth watching!

    Whenever I listen to Douglas Murray speaking about the current state of America and the West, I am reminded of the words of author Theodore Dalrymple (a.k.a Dr. Anthony Daniels):
    “Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

We all become slightly unbalanced mentally - not exactly ill, but not normal either: suspicious, mendacious, confused and inhibited in our speech, at the same time putting on a show of adolescent optimism. What value can such people have as witnesses? The elimination of witnesses was, indeed, part of the whole program.” -Nadezhda Mandelstam on life in 1930s USSR

      Compare this to over 500 witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. St Paul later wrote that most were still alive (they could be interviewed). The leaders went to their deaths asserting the death for our sins, burial & resurrection in glory of our Savior. The New Testament Book of Luke is history based on first hand witness and "many proofs". I encouraged all to read the Book of John & Luke.

The intentionality and preparation you take in your interviews multiply the edification that results in all occasions; but there’s always something special when you and men like Douglas Murray or say, Thomas Sowell speak.
