      Why can’t you repair receivers?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main reason folks opt for a new receiver - so many great new sonic advances have come about in recent years. You can usually get an older receiver repaired, if they still have the parts. But typically after 15 - 20 years, spare parts supply becomes exhausted, and specific parts may be unavailable at that point @@TheBooban

    Nice review just found this page! Currently researching receivers and you helped explain them. The 660h or 760h seem to be my options but since I only plan on 3 speakers for now and maybe 5 in the future think I'll get 660h

    currently have a Sony STR1080 which doesn't support HDMi 2.1 and all the benefits that come with it like VRR, ALLM and 120hz. I've tried using eArc but always have an audio delay I can't resolve (tried on 2 different brands of TV) After all the uncertainty when new receivers started coming out last year with many touting firmware updates that never came this might be my best solution. I know my Sony supports 7.1 and Dolby Atmos but my setup has always been 5.1 anyway with no means to expand so the Denon might just be ideal. Massive thumbs up for the very informative video 👍

    Bought 2 AVRS from Costco , Yamaha TSR 700 and the Denon S760h. Tried every way to keep the Yamaha knowing it’s Best But version is 700$, but it was just glitchy regardless of its Watts, the room calibration mike and software was such junk, tried the Denon and it was spot on awesome plus it’s got more than enough juice to power my 5.1

    I'm so glad I found this channel! I know nothing about receivers and such, and this was such a thorough breakdown. And you're in MD which is great. I will definitely be making my purchases from you guys.

      Answering your question, with this specific receiver, we'd recommend three options that we carry:
      - Lumina by Sonus Faber (in-store only: www.gramophone.com/showrooms)
      - H16 by Focal (in-store only: www.gramophone.com/showrooms)
      - Any speaker from GoldenEar (you can find them online: skybygramophone.com/search?q=GoldenEar)

    Is there a way to connect my TV through Bluetooth to the receiver? Do I have to connect to the TV first? I ask because there is quite a distance from my TV to where the receiver rests in the media room. I will probably have to buy some type of wireless HDMI connector.

  • @apuk2011
    @apuk2011 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm in the UK and seriously considering this amp although will probably get the AVC 660 rather than the AVR 660 as don't need the tuner. I don't understand why the AVC and AVR are identical prices tho!?!
    I only have 5.1 speakers and have a Sony XH92 TV (so only 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports) but have both Xbox SX & PS5 so need a new AMP that can handle the new generation of 8K or 4K120 devices.
    My current amp is over 10 years old now so is only 1080P no Bluetooth etc so ready for an upgrade.
    Anyway, I can't see many reviews of these on TH-cam so thanks for the review! 👍

      Denon and Marantz are generally our favorites because they seem to be the most reliable, and most easily compatible with TVs, players, consoles, etc. They sound good too! With Klipsch I'd choose a Marantz.

    • @GramophoneMD

      It should be, but the size of the room and the desire for a particular volume level can vary immensely. More power is generally a good idea vs. less power - but there is no one good answer that covers all consumer situations

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Rocket, yes - one would think it has plenty of power for a fairly efficient speaker like the RP8000f. But room size, and your own preferences of volume, play a big role in what winds up determining "sufficient" volume, so no guarantees until you hook them up and have some fun. @GramophoneMD  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello elloco, thank you - a visit to LG's site shows that the LHB645N appears to be a self-amplified system, which means you would be using this Denon receiver / amplifier with an amplified speaker system. That may be over-kill, and it does not look as though the amplification in the LHB645N would be better than the Denon's amplification You may want to reach out to LG tech support for clarification: www.lg.com/uk/speakers/hi-fi-system/lhb645n/#
