Katie Cleveland from Addicted To DIY has a great tip to use aluminum tape under masking to test designs on which protects the cup and gives a better margin of error while dialing in your cup and design

My round engraving starts with a line then engraves, what would be the reason ?
I'm not sure what you mean, but I'd start with checking my rotary settings in Lightburn
