  • Today we’ll walk through engraving a Stanley 40oz Full Wrap Tumbler from start to finish. We'll cover how to deal with the tilt, the focal distance, the differences between setting up for a chuck-style rotary vs a roller rotary, and more. I'll be demonstrating in my ‪@ThunderLaserUSA‬ Bolt using my rotaries from ‪@rotobossrotaryattachments‬.
    I'll demonstrate both the Rotoboss Talon and a quick look at the Rotobolt.
    Please use my settings cautiously - 400/75 - is likely a bit heavy on the power at a slower speed than you may need. Every laser (even the same brand, and same tube) will perform slightly differently.
    Tests on your own machine are very important. With the Bolt, I like to start at 400/45 if I can and others have had great success at 600/60, so maybe either of those can be a starting point.

    This video was so helpful for a laser newbie like myself. 👍 I absolutely love the flower wrap you did on this cup. Is the file available for purchase ?

    great video! used it to create my first full wrap for my wife (Came out waaaay better than I expected). Someone is selling a 3d printed level that spans a whole 40oz edge to edge, would that be the most accurate way to get a 40oz level? I also see there is some adjustment for the air hose, would moving that up to avoid changing tilt work better? Thank you!!

      I wouldn’t mess with that too much - it will direct it differently! And that 40oz level sounds cool!

    Hi do you know if the laser engraving would expose the lead within the cup ? The lead is located under the bottom behind that little round piece though

      I've never heard of anyone exposing the lead - the engraving removes the layer of powder coating, so should be ok?

    Hi Katie, I listened to the podcast with you on laser everything. Do you have a discount code for CMB ? I’d like to get you something back. You seem very helpful in the laser community!

    Wow I didn’t realize the amount of work for ONE cup! Is this easily repeatable if you have 20 cups todo?

    • @ThingsKatieMakes
      @ThingsKatieMakes  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, once you get one all set up, subsequent ones are much easier!

    How did you know the steps per rotation?

    • @ThingsKatieMakes
      @ThingsKatieMakes  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For the Talon - Jason from Rotoboss provided a starting point that I checked with a test rectangle - checking that the size is what I expect.
