Most XBOX 360 games have "Compatibility packs" to patch certain games to the newest multiplayer version for the game. Since they are treated like FREE DLC. I'm not sure you will be able to get them later even with a disc copy.
Hm, I'm seeing a lot of comments echoing the same. Was it really confirmed that patches for games won't download or DLC you purchased but haven't downloaded won't be accessible after the store closure? I don't see why that at all makes sense personally, as closing the store would just mean that you can't purchase any more digital content, but servers for online play and social interactions would still function. I don't personally recall MS ever saying otherwise but I may have skipped over that line in the documentation.
I Will really miss the xbox 360 marketplace, be it the 600+ arcade games, indie store, Demos, and its many side projects( Arcade room,Kinect lab, Rockstore) My feeling right now is that the online part of 360 will shut down next year, as there are practically no strong online games left.
It's really a shame all those will just disappear. I hope they keep the online portion on for a bit longer. I'm sure people still play the older Call of Duty titles. But maybe, they'll keep those on through backcompat and just shut down the console? In any case, I hope we can still earn achievements and stuff if they do so.

Dead Rising 1 for 2$ is probably the best deal they have since its remaster is coming out in september for 50-60$. And there allot of digital only exclusives titles like the 2011 RE4 HD
Definitely some great deals going around. I ended up buying those other games I mentioned here. Is the RE4 HD on 360 differ much from the remaster port on PS4/XBO?
@@IndustrialGamer RE4 HD on 360 and PS3 runs at 720p 60FPS and has the additional content that wasn't in the Gamecube release. So PS4/XBO versions are just better looking versions that run at 1080p 60FPS. IMO for $2 its 100% worth since OG RE4 is still an amazing game that I personally never get tired of. Every other RE game on 360 is also $2 so why not for one of the best game series ever.
Call up and complain don’t close the store just like what the PlayStation fans did to Sony to keep the PS3 PSN store still alive I even had to buy 10 things from them that was so expensive on ebay that costed $4.99 when I thought the PSN store was closing it’s really stupid to see Microsoft closing the store acting like Nintendo
Man I wish I still had a working Xbox 360 to buy a few things like new gamerpics and stuff, guess I will be stuck with the EA gamerpic. I will really miss the Xbox 360 store though. I grew up with the Xbox 360 since I was 7 and the amount of times I liked scrolling through the store over the years and get game demos and play them. The game demos were so much fun.
Hey Lloyd! Miss these simpler times where demos were available for almost every new game, gamerpics were fun and interesting and there were really cool themes that completely changed up the look of the dash. Wish MS still kept the blades dashboard or even the NXE as I think they were so iconic of this era.
Only buy this stuff if you have enough harddrive space. Soon when you go to your download history it will all say (content not available) also updates wont be able to be redownloaded neither. So you can never clear your cache again.
Definitely worth pointing out. After I recorded this, I organized and redownloaded all the content across my Xbox 360s so now everything should be downloaded (DLC, gamerpics, themes) on their respective consoles. Curious, you mentioned updates? I assume you mean game updates? Are you saying patches for games will no longer be downloadable after the store closure? I haven't heard of that at all but if so, I need to get to work 😬
Good points my friend, I appreciate your passionate take on your experience with the 360. I have thousands of dollars in digital-only 360 Arcade games & a tremendous amount of DLC expansions, etc. They have already removed most "Need For Speed" & "Forza" DLC, which was available several weeks ago. I bought most of my DLC when each game was new & long before MS removed the DLC over the past. The very day Microsoft announced they were halting production of the 360 I went out & bought two brand new Xbox 360 E-models with 500GB hard drives for only $250 each. Then I seriously ramped up my search for all the 360 games I sadly gave them all away, or traded them for other newer games, as well as many 360 games I've wanted over the years. The 3 must-have digital games to buy before it's too late are, "Call of Duty Classic", "Call of Juarez Gunslinger" & "Duke Nukem Manhattan Project". I have been wrapping up all my Xbox 360 digital games I want, as well as a metric ton of DLC for all my favorite games, which take up virtually all my 500GB hard drive. My 2nd new 360 is just for "non-DLC" games that I always install to the hard drive. I now have well over 300 original Xbox games & over 300 Xbox 360 games, so there's very little left to collect as I focused hard on researching & obtaining all these games when they were $5 to $15 mostly.
Thank you so much Dean! I will have to check out those other games you mentioned, I did get COD Classic though! I've been spending these last few days making sure every piece of content is downloaded to the hard drive. I also finally decided to unbox and hook up my 500GB Xbox 360 E after it was bought new and kept sealed for many years until just a few weeks ago. I wonder if we'll see people trying to sell these consoles with all these arcade games once the store closes. In any case, very happy to get some of these arcade games and additional content. Appreciate the watch and comment as always bud.
Curiosity, The Xbox 360 that are backwards compatible with The One Won’t Be effective by the shutdown since they are going to be available to purchase after the shutdown As far I know
If you're referring to music CDs, I don't see why not? Disc based content isn't connected to the storefront. When the closure happens, you just won't be able to "buy" anything anymore on the console.
Assuming you meant disc games, yes they’ll still work. But only with whatever data was on the disc at point of sale. After the store closure any DLC, themes or gamer pics will no longer be accessible - basically any ad ons. You’ll still be able to install the game disc on the hard drive to reduce wear and tear and improve load times, but you’ll always need the disc in the tray as a key. I’m not sure on free updates and patches still being available, if anyone knows please inform us 🙏🏼

Yes, I believe that's the final sale before the store gets shut down? Def work another look when that takes effect.
