@@Windw00d yeah it seems that one thing that keeps them from completely dominating is the volatile nature of ZvZ, where even a much worse overall player can kick an absolute champion out

Soulkey's run was crazy. It's not like he had an easy run. He faced the two players that everyone else was trying to avoid and rolled them. His set against Snow was especially crazy considering how close their set in S16 was.
@@leggchanyu This is absolutely true. During the course of his 3 straight championship run Soulkey has beaten nearly everyone that is worth beating. One of the best protoss in the world couldn't get a reaver on the field in 4 games against this. Soulkey has taped into something nearly impossible to beat with any strategy seems like, idk
@@Hawkize31 last season, snow said he made a shit ton of mistakes vs soulkey and said he only played at 30%. this season he played even worse. snow mostly lost because he played poorly. snow's micro is one of the best in the world, but his strategy in PvZ has historically been terrible, although it has been getting better. also reaver is not so good in PvZ until late game.
Blows my mind that the SSL/ASL with the least Zerg representation is the time everyone starts to cry Zerg OP. Annoys me that people try to discredit Soulkey by saying he plays an OP race when he's just a monster of a player. Same thing happened in Flash's era; Flash is dominating so Terran must be OP right? Nah Flash was just that good.
Game 2 was absolutely wild. I was ready to skip ahead to game 3, no chance Soulkey can win. Then I remember he had the same situation again Light. Sure enough, 30 seconds later Soulkey goes from down 30 supply to up 30. Bonjwa
Spoiler protection The last two seasons I've enjoyed watching Sharp develop into a higher tier player who always makes the correct decision, so while Soulkey is amazing I at least gave Sharp more of a chance than this. Sharp gets in and does some damage, you start anticipating an upset and then two minutes later SK just runs in and _smashes_ him anyway.
It was really his execution wasnt up to par, maybe he got nervous who knows, but there were at least two other games where he could had put up much more of a fight if he hadnt made one tiny mistake like sending vessels head on only for them to eat scourge
I like Sharp, but I couldn't go into this finals expecting anything other than Soulkey obliterating everyone else - he's just been so dominant in this season. It was never about who else could win, it's about who has the honour of being annihilated by the champ in the finals. He seems inviolable.

Congrats to Soulkey! Three in a row is a massive achievement. But let's be honest - he is the first one winning three in a row because there isn't a bunch of level designers trying to stack a whole tournament to work against Zerg. Wink wink, Flash rules.
GG's to both players, Sharp had soo many good ideas, sucks that his execution like Tasteless and Artosis said really cost him a lot. Well played by Sharp, especially throughout the whole reason, performing better than Terrans who were supposed to be better than him. I predicted 4-0, I was wrong. Still, massive difference of skill between those 2 players. It seems like SK will be untouchable until FL comes back to SSL.
Not to take away from Soulkey's impressive 3 peat, but Flash also has a 3 peat, it was s2/s3/s4, was a while ago so likely they forgot, he also won a 4th in s8.
@@ch420newsteam They said they were not sure in the previous cast to be fair. I literally said the word "also" and s8, why would you think I don't understand that it wasn't part of the streak as the seasons I mentioned?

@@TRYCLOPS1no not even close
Game 2 was absolutely wild. I was ready to skip ahead to game 3, no chance Soulkey can win. Then I remember he had the same situation again Light. Sure enough, 30 seconds later Soulkey goes from down 30 supply to up 30. Bonjwa
Spoiler protection
The last two seasons I've enjoyed watching Sharp develop into a higher tier player who always makes the correct decision, so while Soulkey is amazing I at least gave Sharp more of a chance than this.
@@SuperCosmicSpaceMagnet i think rain would've put up a fight but whatever, has to win the semi first
@@zergu-yf3gdyeah for sure, rain has beaten soulkey in the asl a few seasons back, also i feel like soulkey is “worse” if we can say that in zvp than in zvt
but rain got smashed by sharp so that was ended there
i feel like soulkey would have won this tournement no matter what, he was smashing everyone, even the snow 4-0 was outstanding
@@denesolah1328 its funny when we originally got Soulkey vs Light i thought it was gonna be a finals worthy match up, but after it was done i felt kinda dissapointed, it was lackluster, but after all the other series we had, Light was the only one who actually put up a fight against Soulkey, even if it was a 4-2, most of the games themselves were much closer than in any other series.
A shiver came across the air...
If you pause the video at 0:21 and toggle with the . and , keys to get it to the frame where it says Starcraft you can see it says ASL in the background instead of SSL :)
ahahhahaha IT DOES!. and thanks for that hotkey. I knew arrow keys for 5s but not that frame change hotkey.
1:05:48 god bless
The super bowl of starcraft HERE WE GO!
As it turns out, Superbowl 48 of Starcraft.
I'm hyped and I've got my anti-spoiler plugin ready.
If flash v soulkey ever happens it really will be: the strongest player of today vs the strongest player in history
how is soulkey’s random game?!?
Congrats to that man. Thanks for the casts guys.
Anyone else really enjoy the seasons WITHOUT Flash so much better? ...just me? That's fine...
역시나 아쉬움이 크다.
라바 임홍규(zerg) 라스트 김성현(terran) 선수의 부재도 크다.
전부 우승 가능성이 있는 선수들이다.
@@user-gs7dw7tq1r you forgot Kim "EffOrt" Jung-woo
@tasteless at 1 hour ish mark, the sign in the audience, is that not the Iron Wall as in SoulKey?
Congrats to Soulkey! Three in a row is a massive achievement. But let's be honest - he is the first one winning three in a row because there isn't a bunch of level designers trying to stack a whole tournament to work against Zerg. Wink wink, Flash rules.
Tastosis are the goat of esports casters
FLASH WHERE ARE YOU WHEN WE NEED YOU LOL
the sign = 3 walls, soulkey's nickname is "the wall" so 3 walls 3 championships
So that was the thing that the wall meant. Thanks. But what about the (dead) fishes?

@@seiaghen Never heard of a fish with that name, but that is maybe in another language?
SoulKey is the best zerg ever! Congratz!
Thanks Tastosis for the best cast we could ever had!
Well that was pretty much what was expected. At least Sharp kept himself from being swept, but SoulKey is just on fire.
Bonjwa confirmed. Flash vs SoulKey in SSL finals would be one for the ages
Super excited to see the games, and the legendary cast!
GG's to both players, Sharp had soo many good ideas, sucks that his execution like Tasteless and Artosis said really cost him a lot. Well played by Sharp, especially throughout the whole reason, performing better than Terrans who were supposed to be better than him. I look forward to another strong performance from Sharp, as a zerg fan his performance this season was super impressive.
With FlaSh's return, I'd just love to see him bring us fun & entertaining games. We don't need him to just win rather just bring us FlaSh's content to the big screen
This is rematch of KSL season2 finals
If you have time, I suggest to see KSL2
Interesting, do not see the finals but only semi's on yt. Where could I find vods?
@@Yessia2on twitch, theres every ksl season lived streamed and uploaded to the Starcraft channel
I predicted 4-0, I was wrong.
Still, massive difference of skill between those 2 players. It seems like SK will be untouchable until FL comes back to SSL.
Hoping for some epic clashes between them in the future.
I knew my goat would win 😎But lots of love for the runner-up also
When is the next season? Ty for this season.
Gg! Congratulations to the winner 🏆
Thank you Tastosis and SOOP
Can’t wait for next season
Long live StarCraft
Not to take away from Soulkey's impressive 3 peat, but Flash also has a 3 peat, it was s2/s3/s4, was a while ago so likely they forgot, he also won a 4th in s8.
it is the 3 in a row. S8 being 4th win does not count in a streak. and they did acknowledge it in a previous cast.
@@ch420newsteam They said they were not sure in the previous cast to be fair. I literally said the word "also" and s8, why would you think I don't understand that it wasn't part of the streak as the seasons I mentioned?
About damn time
43:59 actor yoon shi yoon (dongu) supporting sharp
that's actor Yoon Shi-yoon
@JForcE777 you're right
Where do i find flash streaming?
You can watch him get 4-0ed by Soulkey next season

@@Figgy20000 I don't think so
Fuck cancer! Hope everything goes well for Sharp!
Amen to that. Get well Sharp and after you've recovered your health, get back on the horse and keep on improving. GGs!
please do not. it helps the cancer spread by breaking the mass up.
Been so excited for this video! Let’s go!!!! Been watching StarCraft lore vids today 🤘
It blows my mind that SnOw, herO, and Sharp can make it to the RO8 and be seeded nearly back to back thru seasons and yet not a single one of them has a championship. Wild. Soulkey might be at Flashs level.
Good comment. SK is a monster
Soulkey is a genius
wish sharp all the best! good run this season good job my man!
1:05:50 you sir, have the best, most truthful sign I've ever seen. I absolutely thought 1:07:00's convo was going to lead to the Artosis Pylon Build.
and spoiler
welcome new Bonjwa.
Can't wait for Soulkey to slap Flash into retirement.
Ok now i want Soulkey to defeat Flash
i kinda wish the casting for this finals had been a little more like they used to be but maybe thats just rose tinted glasses
also i wish we could get translations for the final quotes at the end by every player
i am definitely not disappointed with the games honestly, i hope next season will be even better
@1:28:28: I want to believe they are Sharp's parents, but I have no idea
Gonna watch the video later but I gotta say, that thumbnail does not give me hope for an exciting, competitive series. From those expressions both Tasteless and Artosis are trying to think of the best way to explain to their children that they can't afford cancer surgery for the family dog and it has to be put down.
I love that youtube gets me the crucial information that Simone Biles is mentionned on this cast
Almost turned into a popsicle waiting for this game!
Wow perfect timing boys!
this finals was still more entertaining than the previous ZvZ finals
Excellent example of "damning with faint praise".
Yea, as a zerg player i would even prefer a TvT finals over a ZvZ rofl
@@skillfuldabest As a zerg player myself I think ZvZ is more interesting, I still enjoy all mirrors, it's more "rock paper scissory" for sure, in ZvZ I love how fast paced it is and every unit is so important.

that last game was hard to watch i cant even tell if he knew about the 6 o clock base or not, he did fly a wraith over it while it was being built however
What is a bonejoua? (Pardon my spelling)
Bonjwa is a term used to describe a player who dominates the StarCraft scene for a long period of time. A bonjwa has a very high winning percentage and successive title wins. However, a bonjwa is not defined by his statistics or records. Rather, a general consensus is reached that he is the most dominant progamer of his era
