Quilting is a art and it’s very therapeutic. I’m watching your videos for hints for my project. I’m working on a landscape and a creekbed with wild horses play
thank you so much for sharing your work, your emotions and your guidance. I appreciate that you keep repeating that art is first for us and that its ok that others might not like it and not to fear the rejection. You are a bright beacon of light. Thank you Andree
Thanks for your support and for commenting. This project should really help us level up with managing the many layers and elements of raw-edge landscape quilting! Please keep in touch! Beth
Oh, Beth. My heart aches with yours. May your father's memory be eternal... My dad passed this past June, my mom in 2012. We don't get over that kind of loss, we can only go on. You are so right about "listening." In our art, so often we listen to everyone but ourselves. I know it is difficult to listen to my own voice while creating, I've been learning how to do that. I think that's why your work resonates so deeply in me, because you do listen to you. Thanks for all the lessons.
Thanks. Today is actually the 2nd anniversary of his death. I am working happily on a strawberry tea cozy video, but after 2 years, I agree with the assessment that we don't get over it, but we get used to it. So sorry for your losses. An active creative life is a great outlet for sadness and all the other emotions too! Thank you for writing.
I enjoying watching your videos so much. I think I enjoy listening to your narrations and musings as much as watching you work. My mother was murdered 20yrs. ago. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. I know that losing a parent leaves a hole in your heart and your soul that never really heals.Having art and creativity in one's life can make that those holes a little less painful and more tolerable at times. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us....
I can't believe someone actually thumbs down this video. It's probably because it wasn't a tutorial like it states; still kind of heartless though. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us. It's refreshing to have people open up and let us really get to know the person inside. That's what I love about artists, like you. Artists are usually very expressive in one way or another. I'm sure many people can relate to the loss of a loved one. I for one really appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos to help others learn how to express themselves in fiber art. It's unique, personal, beautiful, and so much fun. Stay strong, and sew on!
Most of my videos get at least one thumbs down. I do not understand that impulse, but what are you going to do. I know there are many, many people who want to express themselves through creative sewing/quilting and I am only trying to help unlock that door in a way that welcomes them in. I know I got very personal in this video, but I find that what I am making always becomes an expression of what I am feeling to some degree. Otherwise, I feel very disconnected from the work, and it is a chore to finish and check off my list, instead of a process to explore and enjoy.
I am so sorry for your loss, my Sympathies to you and your family, (and also to many other's), my crafting/sewing has come to a halt because of my DH loss too! It can stop you in your tracks, but also looking at these types of video's I am getting back into it again. Take care that way, love your video's, they are great, keep 'em up!
love this and that you doing that these tutorials. I have used crayons on fabric and heats up those now I am thinking about using paint and the areas I did not color. I don't know how many times over the years my creative process was stopped because I wanted to do something perfectly. some of the best things I have ever created was because of a huge mistake. Looking forward to this Grand Adventure blessings and thank you!
I have a question about your painting on fabric. Does the paint on the fabric get hard stiff? Even if you wash it? Thanks, I joined ur page and gave u 2👍🏻
If you use fabric paints that are not supposed to change the hand of fabric, they won't become too stiff (maybe a little though). I like Jacquard Lumiere and Neopaque fabric paints. I've had good results with them. Inexpensive craft paints will make things a bit stiff...harder to stitch through, but doable if you are careful. Hope this helps.
Two questions- how can I get to your videos about the tutorial to help me make the one with the fence, and secondly, is it feasible to make one in a couch throw size? I’m so sorry about your dad. I recently lost mine as well and I lost my mom in 2017…I still talk to them
These are such nice words - I am deeply touched. You are totally awesome!
You have the most beautiful philosophies of life which are reflected in your work. Just beautiful and meaningful.

You do beautiful work. So sorry for your loss.
Thanks on both accounts. I am working on the third landscape video right now. Thanks for watching too.
Your narration touched a spot in my soul. My name is Joyce; one of the many unnamed.
This is so nice to know, thanks.

What an awful thing to have experienced. I am glad that you have felt the healing power of art in your life. Thank you for commenting.
Thank you for sharing yourself. I'm glad you have your craft at this difficult time - thank you for sharing so much.
Thx! It is a joy for me to share my experience with so many kind people!

Thank you, Zazu I needed this tutorial. You are so right in your process. Your words are very powerful. RIP to the good from your Father's teachings.
Thank you.
Lovely mountains. Thank you for sharing. It was inspiring and will hopefully get me out of my rut and back into my sewing room. 💜💜💜
Thank you! I hope so!

Having a Bob Ross moment watching you paint.
I consider that high praise. Thanks.

Yes, I think it is a mistake to assume that something is a mistake:) Please keep in touch, Susan. I appreciate your support! Beth
Oops about the typos autocorrect obviously it didn't work.
thank you for sharing and baring your heart.
Thank you for your support, Maggie! Glad you are watching!
My mother killed herself 14 years ago. I understand. quilting healed me. GOD SEWED ME BACK TOGETHER. U HAVE REALLY OPENED MY SEWING WORLD. SMILE
Well, this is just very, very sad, Diana. But keep sewing! Glad you are still watching, too! Take care.
