Had a personal experience with St. John Paul II. My first experience was in Boston, I was in the Massachusetts National Guard, providing crowd control. There was something about him that I found outstanding. As he passed by my position, he actually looked at me, and blessed me. Go forward when I was in the Navy. Had a USO tour which included a audience, A general audience has many people. I was like three seats from the aisle. Had a rosary which I wanted blessed. The closest person to the aisle was an Chief Corpsman (HMC) so, I passed it to the Chief to see if he can bless the rosary. I was actually stunned. John Paul, stopped, came over to bless my rosary, but the way was a chilling event. The Chief presented my rosary, and John Paul looked at him, looked at me, blessed my rosary then looked at me dead in the eye and blessed my. It was like he recognized me.

“Other religions constitute a positive challenge for the Church: They stimulate her both to discover and acknowledge the signs of Christ’s presence and of the working of the Spirit.”
      - John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, Dec. 7, 1990
“For which reason, conventions, meetings and addresses are frequently arranged by these persons, at which a large number of listeners are present, and at which all without distinction are invited to join in the discussion, both infidels of every kind and Christians, even those who have unhappily fallen away from Christ or who with obstinacy and pertinacity deny His divine nature and mission. Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy since they all in different ways manifest and signify that sense which is inborn in us all and by which we are led to the obedient acknowledgement of His rule. Not only are those who hold this opinion in error and deceived, but also in distorting the idea of true religion, they reject it and little by little, turn aside to naturalism and atheism, as it is called; from which it clearly follows that one who supports those who hold these theories and attempts to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely revealed religion.”
      - Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos, No. 2, Jan. 6, 1928

When he came to Ireland in 1979, they made the pope mobile for him in Ireland. They had to remove two lights at the top of mobile. The vatican crowd came to inspect it beforehand and said he cant stand lights in his eyes because it reminded him of when he was interrogated by the gestapo.

I was 18 years old when he became the Pope and I remember those years with such joy and love. I agree “JP 2 we love you.” He had a tremendously positive affect on my formation as a Catholic during my younger years and the story of his life is just so inspiring. You just can’t say enough about how great he is. Truly I think that it definitely is true how some people call him “ John Paul the Great.” He will always be “Great” to me. May he pray for us and watch over us all in these difficult times. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️✝️✝️💕💞🌹💖

“Today, I would like to repeat what I said to young Muslims some years ago in Casablanca: ‘We believe in the same God …’”
      - John Paul II, general audience, May 5, 1999
“Whoever wishes to be saved, needs above all to hold the Catholic faith; unless each one preserves this whole and inviolate, he will without a doubt perish in eternity. But the Catholic faith is this, that we worship one God in the Trinity and the Trinity in unity. Therefore, let him who wishes to be saved, think thus concerning the Trinity. ‘But it is necessary for eternal salvation that he faithfully believe also in the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ … the Son of God is God and man … This is the Catholic faith; unless each one believes this faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved.”

JP II had the innate ability to tell if a host was consecrated. If you were in a hurry you needed to avoid chapels.
Once a door was closed so he wouldn't stop in and pray for an hour. As he walked by he stopped, looked at the closed door, identical to all the other doors in the hallway, bowed, smiled and shook his finger at the priests escorting him.

Unfortunately I was not able to go to see him when he came to Britain in 1982, but I did see him the following year in Rome. I also saw his successor, Benedict XVI when he came here to beatify John Henry Newman in 2010.
I do not know if JPII has been declared a White Martyr, that is someone who suffers seriously for his faith but not actually killed [Red Martyrdom]. I consider JPII the greatest Pope of the last 100 years, although I also admire Pius XII. Both Pius XII and JPII are to be admired for their unequivocal opposition to Marxism-Leninism [aka communism].

“... the Church has not hesitated to express deep sorrow at the ‘failures of her sons and daughters in every age’ and, in an act of repentance, has asked forgiveness for their responsibility connected in any way with the scourges of anti-Judaism and anti-Semitism … Today … we are addressing a fervent prayer to the Eternal One, to the God of Shalom, so that enmity and hatred may no longer overpower those who turn to our father, Abraham - Jews, Christians and Muslims.”
      - John Paul II, message in commemoration of the Jewish Synagogue
“The first consideration is that the ceremonies of the Mosaic Law were abrogated by the coming of Christ and that they can no longer be observed without sin after the promulgation of the Gospel.”
      - Pope Benedict XIV, Ex Quo Primum, No. 61
“It’s an insult to the holy name and a disgrace to the Christian faith. In certain parts of the Christian world, followers of Islam are allowed to meet in their temples or mosques in which, the Saracens need to adore the infildel Mahomet and they loudly invoke and extol his name at certain hours from a high place. This brings disrepute on our faith and gives grave scandal to the faithful. These practices cannot be tolerated without displeasing the Divine Majesty we enjoin on Catholic princes, one and all. They are to forbid expressly the public invocation of the sacrilegious name of Mahomet …”

It’s cool how JPII traveled to enough times that is equal to going to the moon and back 3 times which also is around the world 30 times in traveling. The moon is a symbol of Mary. Jesus started His ministry at 30. I find this interesting how it connects to Our Lord and Our Lady.

John Paul II praised John Calvin as one who was trying to “make the Church more faithful to the will of the Lord.”
      - June 14, 1984
John Paul II said of Martin Luther: “Our world even today experiences his great impact on history.”
      - October, 1983
“But later, even more care was required when the Lutherans and Calvinists dared to oppose the changeless doctrine of the faith with an almost incredible variety of errors. They left no means untried to deceive the faithful with perverse explanations of the sacred books.”

ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: : “Eternal damnation remains a possibility, but we are not granted, without special divine revelation, the knowledge of whether or which human beings are effectively involved in it. The thought of hell and even less the improper use of biblical images must not create anxiety or despair... The concept of hellfire, the fiery furnace and the unquenchable fire of Gehenna need to be interpreted as symbolic language... The risen Jesus has conquered Satan, giving us the Spirit of God who makes us cry, ‘Abba, Father!’” (Rm 8:15; Gal 5:6).

Be charitable sister, we must pray for the Holy Father. Dissenting only erodes our unity as a Church. Stand for the true faith, but do so for the sake of those you are in disagreement with, not to spite or unless no choice is available, despite them. God bless you.

The Catholic Talk Show I appreciate the humor and you seem like good guys. As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, no organization on earth that systematically enabled the sexual abuse of children for decades (centuries?) should continue to exist.

@@JamesMinerTattoo - Abuse by the clergy is an evil, disgusting, hell-worthy act. Nobody can argue that. Let me just tell you that 99.99999% of Catholics are heartbroken and want nothing more than healing for the victims and justice to be served to the perpetrators and those who covered their tracks. And the Church deserves the bad press and skepticism. But, the overwhelmingly vast majority of Catholics are trying to be a force for good in the world through service, charity, and love. To say the Church needs to go away because of the sins of a small majority is like saying that whole nations should be eradicated because of the actions of their rulers. A country is more than their government, and the Church is more than the corruption in the hierarchy.

His last girlfriend was the time of him being a cardinal up until his death he had a married polish side chick. . It he carried on with a married woman for decades and decades . Sleep 💤 over partying. For weeks at a time. While he was pope. This isn’t a good thing. It show the Catholic Faith at its core, from the very top, being dishonest and in gave son’s it’s seven fold for a priest to commit the things his letter suggest he did . There hasn’t been an honest pope since saint Malachy The
    Archbishop of Armagh,s time ..

Where did you get this ludicrous and obviously untrue story from, or did you just make it up?
