Mary was the very first Christian. She accepted Christ in the most intimate way. One of my peeves is the way some folks discuss Mary as if she was forced to be pregnant when she could have refused. She consented to become the mother of the Redeemer. When Christ was on the cross, he gave her to one of his disciples and in so doing, he gave her to us. I love Mary.

What translation are you using that uses a forward slash and the word property? I am quite sure that the Koine Greek did not use slashes. And Mary is a person and not property.

I grew up Roman Catholic and never thought we worship Mary. I just believed she was the mother of Jesus. Mass was always about Jesus. I didn’t even know there were different kinds of theology. I just thought these different churches were more or less the same. Belief in Jesus and God the father. Now I know about apologetics. I also know my faith better. The rosary is incredible and beautiful. I was amazed how it heals and bring joy. Makes sense since we’re meditating on the life of Christ.

I had the same experience Thomas. It wasn’t until I traveled and met people when I was older and I hear Protestants say “Catholics are pegans” and my reaction was woah! And I didn’t know how to respond until I researched. I think Catholics need to be taught this growing up so they don’t get fooled by Protestants when they grow up. Protestants walk to peoples houses and walk up to people in public to promote their churches. So we should be prepared to respond to them

      Same about Mary and Jesus.
But I knew early in life Christian "churches" not the same. Plenty of hatred towards Catholics in the other "churches" I witnessed as a child.
Total turn-off and totally un-Christian like

I only discovered what the Roman Catholics believed in Nov 2018 after attending a funeral in a catholic church. The thing that left me totally flabbergasted was the big poster at the entrance proclaiming "Our SINLESS Lady" or something to that effect. That was so blatantly unbiblical I just had to delve into what it was they believed. It was a stunning revelation!
There is no mistake about that - Catholics believe Mary was/is sinless - no matter that the bible states - For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Catholics then go ahead and butcher that text to suit themselves.
Getting to the Rosary it says there about Mary :
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, *_our life,_* our sweetness and *_our hope._* To _thee_ do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, *_most gracious Advocate,_*
The bible says in Colossians 3:4 - *_When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory._*
So the catholics believe that Mary is divine. They may deny that vehemently, but that is the unmistakable reality. If Mary is sinless, if Mary is their *_LIFE_* and if Mary is their *_ADVOCATE_* then there is nothing left to hide behind. Those attributes belong solely to Jesus the Christ, the one and only Holy, Sinless Son of God.
Hence - because catholics *_PRAY_* TO Mary, it is absolutely clear that they are worshiping Mary - no matter how they deny it, no matter how they want to defend and claim "veneration", it is not what they SAY, it is what they actually DO!

@viviane truyen I guess you grew up in the catholic church and got to deeply love the image of Mary painted by the RCC religious institution. Am I right?
If so, then it's going to be especially difficult for you to see the spider's web that entangles you. That's just too bad.

    • @kevinrtres
      @kevinrtres 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@viviane truyen Perhaps you'd like to show me where I have insulted Mary of the bible? Whilst you're at it please show me where in the bible it states directly and specifically that Mary was sinless? Why would a sinless person need a SAVIOUR - as she indicates in her Magnificat? The *_ONLY_* sinless person is Jesus. The bible states that directly in no uncertain terms.
As for the things I *_HAVE_* written regarding the RCC image of Mary, please do a careful *_refutation from scripture_* that shows I am wrong.
I would much rather that you humble yourself, read the bible and see what is there instead of continuing on the papal catechism band-wagon.

I am a christian and my father is a pastor. I have been praying rosary and this year Holy Spirit asked me to learn about our Holy Mother. The first time I ask her how to get to know her better, she came in my vision and protected me from evil spirit. And after that, I give my heart to my Holy Mama to guide me closer to Jesus. Please pray for me, I want to receive Holy Communion

Although the more you get to know Jesus and Mary spiritually, the cursed being will change their tactic to tempting us. I saw the cursed being kinda more often during my meditation prayers as they want to distract me... However, in Jesus, nothing will harm us. God Bless!

@@stever4181 oh! You can absolutely go to Jesus directly~ devotion to Mary is not mandatory, even in catholic. However, Jesus gave His Mother to His believers (John 19:26-27). And after that, we give devotion to Mary as our mother. And throughout the history, there are several Marial apparitions approved by the church (meaning it already investigated with experts). And all of the apparition... They all have the same message, to bring more souls closer to Her Divine Son, Jesus. Plus, if you want to differentiate the heavenly beings and evil beings, if you see it through anything, you can great them with blessing (Blessed be God, Blessed be Jesus)... If they reply it, it means they're heavenly being. If they don't reply it, or just say "blessed be" you can be more suspicious. That's what Jesus told St. Gemma Galgani to do. For me, who sometimes also got to see the evil cursed being, it's really helpful. Coz, even in the Gospel, Jesus said He couldn't say all the things He want to say, and give us the Holy Spirit. Then the apostle describe the Spirit's gifts, one of them is to differentiate spirit and mystical ability (1 Cor. 12:1-11). God Bless you as well! I will pray for you! 🤍

@@stever4181 brother, I have typed my answer in a very long way... But it wasn't uploaded, maybe I said something wrong (I prayed to be supervised by The Holy Spirit for my social media activity hahahah) but, I'm not replacing Mary and The Holy Spirit. In fact, in my case, the Holy Spirit guided me to get to know Mother Mary (It was so loud, I almost thought I heard something). Oh, for the bible verses.... Firstly, it's not mandatory to devoted to Mary, even in Catholicism. You can go directly without Mary. However, we believe Mary can also bring us closer to God coz in John 19: 26-27 Jesus gave His Mother to us. As for the mystical visions, you can see it as The spirit gifts as in 1 cor. 12:1-11. And being sceptical is a very healthy and logic response, I also am very sceptical and need to learn more. Please pray for me and I will also pray for you, brother! God bless!

Yes. Her portrayal in The Passion was amazing. Much better than the Book of John movie. Though that's a pretty good movie with well cast Jesus, apostles and John the Baptist. Mary was way too old and visibly absent through the whole movie, just showing up for a minute at the crucifixion.

The Honest Truth I believe Mary’s faith was greater than anyone since she agreed to God’s will in a time she very well could have been killed for what He asked of her.
Although how John reacted in his mother’s womb when Mary came to her is truly one of my favorites.

I understand that you are free to believe whatever you put your faith in, and I respect that. It is just that Catholics and Protestants must worship the same G-d, and I simply believe that G-d is not so petty as to play favorites. I just believe that G-d loves everyone. And I believe the same of Jesus. So from my perspective, the dispute is confusing, and I was just looking for an explanation. So, if you found my comment to be offensive, I apologize. That was not my intent. Peace.

Hi, maybe pondering on these bible verses can be of help:
In 1 Kings 2 :19-20, King Solomon bows to his mother, the queen, and has her seated to his right. I've heard there are parallels of the Old Testament with the New Testament. In Revelation 12:5-6 it talks about a woman who had a son that was taken to the throne of God and God prepared a place for the woman. In Psalms 45[44] in verses 10-15 it talks about a virgin queen dressed in a precious fine gold who stands at the right hand of God. She is pleasing to the king, and it talks about nations seeking her favor and how God will make her name famous through all generations, as well as all nations will praise her.
      Who is this woman?
Is it the woman whom God had prepared a place for? and was that place at the right hand of his throne just as King Solomon had prepared a place for his mother at the right-hand side of his throne?

If Jesus is King of heaven, in the house of David, Mary is the queen of heaven. You guys do not recognize the Passion of the Christ as much as we catholics. Jesus said on the cross, "Son behold thy mother. Mother behold thyson." By not recognizing Mary as your mother, you are in fact, disobeying Jesus Himself. And Mary is not dead in a grave, she was assumed into heaven. There is no "grave" for the Holy Mother.

YOU: we Catholics don't worship the Virgin Mary, we venerate Her and that there is a major difference
*ME: You should look up the definition of "venerate". Please note that the Biblical definition of idolatry is found in Deut **4:16**-19.* It is to make statues of a female for yourselves (without GOD's instructions to do so) -- it is to serve this female entity -- and it is to "SHACHAH" this female entity. *The Hebrew word "SHACHAH/worship" means "to revere, to bow down to, to humbly beseech, to pay homage as to royalty".*
Roman Catholics make statues of the female Mary for themselves; without GOD's instructions to do so -- RCs serve this female entity "Mary" by repetitively chanting her mantra/rosary -- RCs bow down in reverence to the statues that represent this female entity -- RCs humbly beseech/pray to/ask assistance from this female entity. -- RCs pay homage to this female entity as the royal queen of Heaven.
*According to the Biblical definition of IDOLATRY, Roman Catholics commit idolatry with the queen of Heaven -- just like the OT Jews did in Jeremiah 7:18, 44:15-30. Slapping a "christian label" on the queen of Heaven, doesn't make it Christian -- that's why ZERO guys that KNEW Mary and wrote the NT for us, ever call Mary the queen of Heaven.*

@Sterling Crowne So you have been enlightened as to everything that occurred with Mary and the Holy Spirit? Calling her the "spouse" is a devotional title but I guess you might know better about the special relationship between Mary and the Holy Spirit. Of course Mary is the mother of Christ since Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. Inseparable incarnation. She is the mother of all Christians because she was the first. The Ark of the Covenant held the holiness of the Most High. So did Mary for nine months so she is the Ark of the New Covenant. This is also why the tradition in theology of her immaculate conception has existed since the beginning, sinful flesh could not contain God in the flesh. She is redeemed by Christ in advance. None of this takes anything away from the glory of Jesus Christ. Does the moon rob the sun of its light? In the same way she reflects the glory of God. Her immaculate conception does not make her a super woman or without choice. Adam and Eve were created without sin. This is why Mary is also called the new Eve. She made the right decision where Eve made the wrong. Her titles as Queen are from the traditions of the Queen Mother of the Kings of Israel, like Bathsheeba and Solomon, not the bride. You don't have to believe any of this, but as a brother in the Lord, I would ask you if you really love Jesus Christ, why would you say anything bad about His mother or have problems with people who love her. I love St. Peter and St. Paul too. Is that a problem too? Do other Christians from the Scriputures detract from Christ? Of course not. Have a blessed Easter. 🙄➕➕➕

@Sterling Crowne LUKE 1:24-48 God's own messenger, Gabriel greeted Mary with: "Hail full of grace (purity) the LORD is with thee.
Also here is Biblical Proofb that the protestant doctrine of "scripture alone" is FALSE: .....
The Bible ITSELF Contradicts Luther's doctrine of "scripture alone" (solascriptura) The Bible tells us that the authority is THE CHURCH: ...
      ● 1 TIMOTHY 3:15 The pillar & foundation of TRUTH is the CHURCH.
      ● EPHESIANS 3:10 10 His intent was that now, THROUGH THE CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

      ● JOHN 21:25 Jesus said & did Many other things that are too numerous to be recorded in writing.
      ● HEB 13:17 Obey the eldars in the CHURCH
The True Church is a TEACHING Church: (to Teach means to impart knowledge that is not presently know....not in writing)
      ● JOHN 14:26-31
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(To TEACH is to impart knowledge that is not presently known....not in writing)
      ● ACTS 8:31: And he said, HOW CAN I, (understand scripture) EXCEPT SOMEONE SHOULD GUIDE ME? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
(The scriptures are not for individual interpretation. They need the guidance of the CHURCH. It is PROTESTANTS who are following the doctrines of a man.)
Protestants focus on the BIBLE instead of the CHURCH because the message & meaning of the Bibvle is easy to manipulate / change by ignoring all scriptures that contradict the protestant agenda.
CHURCH and BIBLE go TOGETHER. Bible without the CHURCH means nothing and "solascriptura" is a rebellion against the CHURCH.
JESUS Never told us we must read the Bible in order to be saved. JESUS Founded a CHURCH. LUTHER (who never knew Jesus) came along 15 centuries later and told gullible people to IGNORE the church and follow "scripture alone" Protestants obey LUTHER and are depending on their "Knowledge" (albeit skewed) thinking that their knowledge will get them into heaven even though they attack and abuse ordinary decent people, ignoring the fact that Jesus told us to Love our neighbours and to treat others the way we would like to be treated.

Catholics honor Mary's unwavering faith and obedients to God the Father. We should all love, obey and follow God as she did. Mary is Blessed full of grace.

Here you have a verse of importance!
Matthew 12:47-49 stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
But let's stick with the wedding in Cana! Nothing there is about Mary! It is about Israel!
      John
2 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the
mother of Jesus was there: 2 and both Jesus was called, and his
disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the
mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith
unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet
come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith
unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone,
after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or
three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with
water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them,
Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they
bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was
made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which
drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the
bridegroom, 10 and saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth
set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which
is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This
beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested
forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
While Jesus performs this miracle, we are still under OLD
COVENANT/LAW! The first wine represents the old covenant which
is good, but the wine Jesus miraculous makes is the better wine,
representing the New Covenant! The water-pots filled with water
Represent water baptism (Cleansing), changing it into wine (spirit)
represents the giving of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost). The Groom
      represents Christ, The bride Israel!
The old wine ran out (old covenant) the new wine ( new covenant)
was then used! But this could only happen if Israel accepts their
messiah! Because the whole wedding represents the marriage
supper of the lamb! Revelation tells when this will happen!
Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him:
for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made
      herself ready
Not about Mary at all, it is about the coming kingdom of Israel with their Messiah!

Hi there! I'm new to Catholicism and intend to convert fully. I was agnostic (raised Jewish) and recently underwent a demonic possession, obviously complicated. In my desperation, I got ahold of holy water and a prayer to St. Michael through a friend. Needless to say, Catholicism has become the most important and true thing in my life. As a past time, a lot of my friends and I would play Magic The Gathering. Maybe this is a silly question, but do you think that game is safe to be playing? After everything that's happened I can't help but be a bit superstitious. My friends want me to play though, and I don't want to overthink it if on the flip side it's just the Devil trying to keep us from having fun together. If you would please, I'd really appreciate some insight. Bless you guys.

    • @bridgefin

Down't know much about "Magic: The Gathering. In my day people played Ouija boards. Seemed harmless enough until you heard that it was an invitation to the underworld to come to you. There are magic games and parlor tricks and then there is magic, a power to be used by the knowing. All I can tell you is that there is a spiritual underworld that is out to win your soul. And they always operate in secret. No one playing Ouija boards knew what harm they were playing with. I have since heard of possessions that have come about through that "game". You have already underwent demonic possession so you know. I wouldn't give them any opportunity to strike again. Surely that must be a way to spend your time that would be more pleasing to God?

I think it is ok for you to play it, "Magic the Gathering is a pretty innocent card game. I personally prefer Yu Gi Oh but i also tried Magic and it is stil a nice game. It has references to magic, necromancy, alchemy and other pretty antihristian stuff but that is all in a fantasy setting. I mean, Tolkien was still a Catholic even while he was writing the Lord of the Rings, even if the book had a pagan mithologywith many divinities, because he knew it was a fantasy book.
My advice is: just treat it for what it is: a card game. God knows that you are just having fun with your friends and not trying to summon the dead or demons.

They confuse idols with statues. And idol directs one away from the one true God. Statues can be either good or evil. God commanded Moses to create statues of angels and a serpent. Thus, statues are not idols by themselves. But anything can be an idol if you give it the time and attention that belongs to God.

      Richard,
Do you know what happens when you ASSUME? You make and ass of u and me.
The fact is, with your logic, you will call "idolater" any man who dares to express words of love to a woman, whether his mother, girlfriend or wife.
Get it in your hardened prejudiced head: We love the Virgin Mary and all the Saints in Heaven because GOD LOVES THEM INFINITELY and they can pray for us because they share in that love for us.
The Bible reminds us of how powerful the intercession of Mary is to Jesus, on our behalf, as she interceded to Him to perform His first miracle at the wedding at Cana.
      ▪︎JOHN 2:1-11
      1. On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
      2. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
      3. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”
      4. And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.”
      5. His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
      6. Now standing there were six stone water jars for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
      7. Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
      8. He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the chief steward.” So they took it.
      9. When the steward tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called the bridegroom
      10. and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.”
      11. Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
▪︎This is why from the earliest times, Christians have sought Mary’s prayers and help and why there has always been the basic sense on the part of the Church that Mary continues in heaven to be concerned for the growth of all members of the Church into holiness and for an intimate relationship with her Son.
Here's what Scripture says regarding Mary's intercession from Heaven for us, her children:
      ▪︎REVELATION 5:8; 8:3-4:
"In heaven the elders and angels offer up the PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS [on earth] as incense before the throne of God."
      ▪︎HEBREWS 11:1-12:1
"Seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [in other words, the heroes and martyrs of the faith from ages past], let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us."
Thus, Mary, the Mother of God, as well as the heroes and martyrs of the Christian faith are a good example for us and surround us like spectators at a running race. Therefore, they know about us and can see our struggles from heaven.
      ▪︎JAMES 5:16-18:
'The prayer of the good man has powerful effect."
In other words, the most powerful intercessors in the Church are those most advanced in holiness.
And who is more advanced in holiness than a soul who is fully sanctified and in heaven, as the Mother of God is?
Can Mary and the saints hear us?
      YES!
      God bless.

Then they always say Jesus Himself says in John 14:16, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.” So why would we pray to anyone else ? I always tell them why do you ask your friends or family to pray for you it’s the same thing ? Then they get upset ... how else can I answer them please let me know I want them to understand.

You can also say that since they lived faithful lives dedicated to the church, they are very close to God in heaven and can intercede for us. For Mary, say that she interceded for Jesus at Cana.

    • @dave_ecclectic
      @dave_ecclectic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

First they will always say 'instead' explain we do both. Its not an instead. Second this quote is us going through Jesus to approach the Father. We aren't circumventing this. We are having others approach Jesus, not the Father so this quote has nothing to do with praying to the saints for intercession. The intercession is between us and Jesus not us and the Father.
The idea is we are not only knocking on the 'neighbors' door but are asking others to knock on Jesus door also. It says the neighbor will have no choice but to get up and answer. If you picture the Saints as being closer neighbors and people on earth as being quite a ways down the street maybe it will make more sense? Although they may not realize or accept that the Saints are in Heaven explain this is what we believe. This is why we do it.
Also you need to explain what the word 'pray' means to a Catholic.
If they get angry for your explaining something then they aren't asking but are accusing.

Mary was Jewish a very young girl, and not understanding it all completely said yes your will be done Father. Thus Immaculate Conception. As a Catholic who has been questioning a lot of things, the only conclusion I can draw based on numerous research is that 99% of the doctrine on Mary is gotten from the church making its own conclusions based on certain scripture even when it's not stated in the bible. The instance of the wedding of Cana being a reason for intercession doesn't really hold water because a lot of people asked Jesus to help someone (mostly family e.g Lazarus, Jairus' daughter) during His time on earth and that doesn't automatically make them intercessors on our behalf.
Secondly, yes being the one to carry the Saviour is indeed an honor and something no one else will ever experience again but that doesn't automatically mean she has closer access or some sort. Yes I can see how the church arrived at this conclusion but it isn't stated anywhere in the bible. The entire point of Jesus' death and resurrection is to cleanse us from our sins and give us direct access to the Father. If we need another intercessor then what's the point of Jesus?
Also, you can't really blame protestants for saying we worship/pray Mary because it looks like we do and sometimes, I think we do unknowingly. It's one thing to say we should honour her as the Mother of God and it's another thing to make intercessions through her. There's literally a sacred heart prayer that says "Sweet heart of Mary, be my salvation". She can never be our salvation. That line is a very dangerous line.
I'm not done with the video so I'm not sure it's mentioned here but people always excuse the practices of the Catholic church because "it has been around for so long". That something has been around for so long does not make it right. Also correct me if I'm wrong, the rosary was something that started over 10 centuries after Christ's death so why exactly should we believe it's another way to God even though Jesus clearly says that there is no other way to the Father except through Him.
Also, I find the concept of canonization of saints quite absurd. Aren't we all saints or am I missing something?
Sometimes I think we Catholics don't understand that we are the literal temples of the Holy Spirit (Spirit of God). You literally can't get any closer than that. We have been created in His image and likeness.

      Images and Statues
Deut. 4:15 - from this verse, Protestants say that since we saw “no form” of the Lord, we should not make graven images of Him.
Deut. 4:16 - of course, in early history Israel was forbidden to make images of God because God didn’t yet reveal himself visibly “in the form of any figure.”
Deut. 4:17-19 - hence, had the Israelites depicted God not yet revealed, they might be tempted to worship Him in the form of a beast, bird, reptile or fish, which was a common error of the times.
Exodus 3:2-3; Dan 7:9; Matt. 3:16; Mark 1:10; Luke 3:22; John 1:32; Acts 2:3- later on, however, we see that God did reveal himself in visible form (as a dove, fire, etc).
Deut. 5:8 - God’s commandment “thou shall not make a graven image” is entirely connected to the worship of false gods. God does not prohibit images to be used in worship, but He prohibits the images themselves to be worshiped.
Exodus 25:18-22; 26:1,31 - for example, God commands the making of the image of a golden cherubim. This heavenly image, of course, is not worshiped by the Israelites. Instead, the image disposes their minds to the supernatural and draws them to God.
Num. 21:8-9 - God also commands the making of the bronze serpent. The image of the bronze serpent is not an idol to be worshiped, but an article that lifts the mind to the supernatural.
I Kings 6:23-36; 7:27-39; 8:6-67 - Solomon’s temple contains statues of cherubim and images of cherubim, oxen and lions. God did not condemn these images that were used in worship.
2 Kings 18:4 - it was only when the people began to worship the statue did they incur God’s wrath, and the king destroyed it. The command prohibiting the use of graven images deals exclusively with the false worship of those images.
1 Chron. 28:18-19 - David gives Solomon the plan for the altar made of refined gold with a golden cherubim images. These images were used in the Jews’ most solemn place of worship.
2 Chron. 3:7-14 - the house was lined with gold with elaborate cherubim carved in wood and overlaid with gold.
Ezek. 41:15 - Ezekiel describes graven images in the temple consisting of carved likenesses of cherubim. These are similar to the images of the angels and saints in many Catholic churches.
Col. 1:15 - the only image of God that Catholics worship is Jesus Christ, who is the “image” (Greek “eikon”) of the invisible God.

I think the biggest stumbling block for Protestants on the perpetual virginity of Mary, and what the Catholics need to do better at explaining, is why it is that Mary stayed a virgin. While you pray to Mary remember she was not immaculate and is not the mother of God so you are in fact praying to a goddess and idol. The goodness of the immaculate heart of Mary. News flash guys, Mary didn't have an immaculate heart nor did John the Baptist whom Christ said was greater than Mary.
What Catholics believe about the virgin Mary. What you believe about the virgin Mary and what God tells us is two different things.
    1. Catholics worship Mary is slander? Friends when one takes a normal human being that God found favor with, call her immaculate, remaining a virgin after numerous children, was assumed, called the queen of heaven, and mother of God, which millions of people pray to, that is worshipping a goddess and idol as no such person is in the word of God. those dead in the flesh can't hear you so they certainly can't pray for you. Mary was called blessed, what she was not called in immaculate, queen of heaven or mother of God. Actions speak louder than words. For people that don't worship Mary you have done a lot of it in the first 10 minutes. Guys, Mary was only the mother of Jesus, James, Joseph, Simon, Jude and at least a couple of daughters, that's it. Christ never told Christians Mary was our mother, that is a Catholic belief, not Christian.
You guys can really mislead the word of God. The apostles didn't gather around Mary in the upper room. They all gathered just gathered and you failed to mention the brothers of Christ were there.
No where is Mary called holy mother church in the word of God, it's a worship thing. Guys, the word of God makes no mention of Christ seeing His mother.
Where does it say the bible says Jesus brings these people too heaven to use them for intercede and we can grow closer to them. Why do we do devotions to those dead in the flesh and buried?
Have to give up at 13:41 for now as almost 14 minutes of listening to you worship someone you say you don't worship is getting hard to take,

blah blah blah......... try reading the early church fathers kiddo. Is this what your fake pastors have taught you ??. You take the books out of the bible which was preserved for 1500 years and you blame the catholics for changing the bible 😂😂😂😂. Just because you think its worship, doesn't make it a worship. Blame your own eyes and thoughts for that. Get your dictionary out and show me where it says prayer is worship or both have the same meaning. And Jesus himself said that he is the God of the living not the dead, so Mary, the saints and the people who died before us are all spiritually alive. Again you are contradicting Jesus's own words by saying Mary and saints are dead, if you meant physically , then yes but spiritually they are alive. Mary was born without the original sin, thus called immaculate conception, if you deny this you will have to accept that Jesus was born with the original sin too. See how your protestant theology traps you in a tangled web. As for John the baptist, Jesus was saying that he was the greatest prophet to be born of a woman, but Mary was known as theotokos. She was the most blessed among all humans. Next time when you read chapters, read the whole chapter not cherry pick, this is why the prots always fail in delivering solid arguments. And no John the baptist was not immaculately concieved, stop spreading utter lies.

@@charukasilva7821 Jesus Christ is not a fake Pastor and that way of thinking could be your problem. Instead of following the word of God you follow man's. Which early church fathers died for your sins? The books you say were removed were noy officially part of the bible. In the sixteenth century, the Council of Trent officially accorded the Apocrypha canonical status, decreeing these writings to be inspired Scripture. You seem to not to understand the bible. When we die our body returns to the earth and our spirt to God. Those that have passed cannot hear us or speak and will rise from their grave when Christ returns. Mary being born without sin is a Satanic lie and contradicts the word of God as all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. If you read the bible my friend you would see sin is passed down thru the male and why Christ was not sinful even though Mary was. You need a better bible, " I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Here is the link to the Greek bible and translation. biblehub.com/text/luke/7-28.htm. You do understand that if Mary was sinless, she could have gone to the cross instead of Jesus.
Of course John the Baptist was not immaculately conceived as like Mary he was with sin. Lastly, as A Christian, I could not tell you what protestants do but as a prior Catholic I can tell you they spend more time following the teaching of the Catholic church CCC than the word of God.
      Many blessings.

" Mary could have gone to the cross instead of Jesus ", this statement itself shows how stuuuuuupid you are. TBH good that you left the catholic church, cause you do not even deserve to be in the presence of Jesus after that bogus statement. Again you are contradicting Jesus's own words, Jesus clearly said that he is the God of the living. What is so hard in that sentence for you to understand. There is nothing called soul sleep, another protestant idiotic fallacy which was or never will be proven biblically. During the final judgement it is said that Jesus will ressurect our bodies (not our souls) and the righteous souls will unite with their bodies. Mary and Jesus were both born without any sexual interaction, this is why they are both sinless, and where in the hell does the bible say that sin only comes from the male ?. Both Adam and Eve committed sin, not one so the original sin was passed down from both of them. I told you to read the entire passage Maththew 11, not just half of it. Jesus addresses the crowd and there he mentions about prophets. You clealry skipped that part cause like Martin luther and all the other reformers you only want the part that support your arguments and the rest is fallacy. If we go by your theory Jesus was also born of a woman, so is Jesus putting John the Baptist above himself as well ?? Do you see how actually stupid your arguments sound. Nothing is factual, nothing is accurate and nothing has a substance but but but it is the "ultimate truth". The protestants can't even properly defend their basis of faith which are the two solas yet they intend on challenging the catholics to more complex arguments. Let me offer you a small challenge, since you claim to have the "correct bible". Show me the words sola scriptura/bible alone or sola fide/faith alone or the word bible or the word trinity from your "correct bible". If 4 is too hard for you try showing me atleast 1. Bible is the only authority right ?? Nothing can be accepted as a protestant which are not in the bible right ?. Let's see how far you'll go. Go and have a cold shower boy. Also for the record CCC is the not the word of God, I don't know who told you that, catholics never consider that as well. The CCC is a manual for us to understand the concepts and doctrines in the bible and the CCC has proven them with quotations from the bible to prove its validity and authority. CCC has protected the true church from splitting up into 4000 denominations like the other churches. Martin Luther rejected the CCC and look what it did to the church. Every reformer had their own interpretation. Even they could not come to a single conclusion. And you think that church or this church is true. Yeah good luck in finding the "true church". Maybe you need to reincarnate cause it would take you a few more lifetimes in looking into every protestant denomination. Have you also recognized that some of these protestant churches are now adopting certain catholic practices in their churches such as performing the eucharist and infant baptisms ??. So yes CCC is very important for the church but it certainly not above the bible. That maybe what you see, but what you see is not even close to the truth.

I also think of Ladywell in Lancashire UK its a Catholic Shrine with Official Protestant Pilgramages. I know one part of the British Protestant Church broke away to follow Our Lady with the Protestant rites in the 1990's. My mother in law told me lots of Anglicans buy the Rosary in Walsingham Prostestant shrine. Protstants are not all the same in belief. I remember the Evangelic American Church near my home in the UK it was so in your face and controversial. I prefer the gentleness of Faith of our Churches be they Catholic or Protestant with ecumenisism we have lots of Ecumenical Services here in the UK with Joint Lentern Talks etc and some Churches together Services at times of the Year. Lets grow in faith together. Our local Convent has retreats that I know Catholics and Protestants and Protestant ministers attend.

This all news to me. If you don't know what my motives are, and you don't, you shouldn't be pretending like you do. It's slander even if it might not be sinful. Read E Michael Jones. He explains the deep theological mistakes that protestantism makes and can prove them. Irrefutable. Study these logical perfect philosophical arguments of reason and then revisit your comment. Your love of Jesus is not in question, but the true path must use the faculty of reason, the mind that God gave you. There is correct reasoning an incorrect reasoning. It's like math. The passion of your faith is not being questioned.

    • @zatoichi1
      @zatoichi1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

He wasn't exactly ascribing false motives to those that insist that Mary didn't stay a Virgin despite contextual Biblical evidence and long historical agreement among theologians in the Church and even among major Protestant movements. I kind of wonder too why some are so adamant on that particular aspect of Mary's life. Christ lived a life of chastity and so did most of the apostles. St. Paul wrote that it was to be favored whenever possible so we believe Mary remained chaste like her only son, Jesus. And these guys really aren't trying to divide at all. Neither is the Church. The official stance is that Protestants are our separated brethen. By contrast, many of those who disagree vehemently with the Catholic stance tend to also say that all Catholics are not "saved" and are going to Hell, which allows the division to continue. Keep searching for truth, examine the arguments and the history of the Church. Use reason and pray to the Lord for guidance. I too pray often for the reunification of Christians. God bless you and the guys at Catholic Talk Show.

Great show! But I believe the first point that as Catholics, "we do not worship Mary" is TOTALLY wrong. Rationale:
    1. We as Catholics believe that Mary was born WITHOUT original sin, and chosen by God to bare His only Son.
    2. St Gabriel's words to her which IS dogma were: "HAIL Mary, full of grace...". So if an Archangel worships her, we better as well.
    3. Us as Catholics believe that Mary was ASSUMED into Heaven (The Assumption) and crowned "Queen of Heaven" (The Coronation). And what do we do to a Queen of Heaven? Praise and Exhalt her!

Just keep your sister in prayer and present the faith with love. We are to discern with reason. Happy clappy churches can be dangerous because they discern with emotions and feelings. Faith often goes against our natural senses and feelings. Also, if her church is ruining your relationship, how is that love? How is it of Christ? Same with condemning whole clothe millions of Catholic Christians to Hell. How does that line up with Do not judge, lest ye be judged? Learn the history of the Church to teach her out of love. Having been educated in a Catholic school, I think that Catholics have more than anything a language problem: they don't adore Mary, bless her, they just venerate her; but it is the case that to venerate is a synonym of to adore; In other words, "Venerate" and "adore" are used as synonyms with the sense of 'worshipping someone or something of a divine or sacred nature and this action of worship is expressed through thousands of "Virgin Marys" each one as if it were Semiramis. , Venus, Easter, the Queen of Heaven, etc.
The Catholic Church calls Mary the queen of heaven, as do the pagans; the Mother of God, understand that this is illogical, since motherhood requires a pre-existence, if she were the mother of God, she would pre-exist God himself, who is the first principle and she would be God.

    • @kevinrtres
      @kevinrtres ปีที่แล้ว

PRe-existing worldviews are difficult to change. So making straight forward, logical statements unfortunately just flies over the heads of those who raise the "church" above the word of God. That's why pro-catholics like to use the term "Welcome back home" to those who say that they have now re-ignited their religious fervor - or to those who have converted from so-called evangelical belief to catholicism.
