    While I'm not necessarily in the market for this, I can see a huge market for it in the South. It definitely has a "ranch gun" vibe. Though...to be pedantic, I'd assume that plenty of Henry's are chambered for "pistol" (read: revolver rounds). Many classic lever-actions are .38 special/.357 Mag guns....so they have a long history of wood PCC's. I also enjoy the fact that this is a drum-capable, suppressor-ready "carbine" which people would automatically assume is somehow safer than a normal AR pistol or AK pistol, etc. Wood = safe. Black plastic = terrorist gun.

    So why this versus a Ruger PCC? The Ruger is roughly $300 cheaper and has similar features, along with more models with options for mlok slots and pistol grips. The main thing this has is magwells for S&W and Sig.

  • @corytebay3742

    It's definitely a Winchester Self Loading rifle rethought.
    Originally offered in 32 WSL and 35 WSL in 1905 (so thinking this is the "1905"?), Then the 351 WSL in 1907 (so maybe 357 mag next here?), And finally the 401 WSL in the 1910 (so I see a 10mm or perhaps a 44 Auto Mag will make an appearance).
    What would be SUPER COOL is if it were offered in 35 Legend and 400 Legend - which are essentially re-thought Self Loading cartridges from Winchester.
    Everything that was old is new again!

    I think this’ll only go for the people who want the retro look. Ruger PCCs most expensive version with the chassis is less than the lowest price point for the Henry. Plus you don’t have to pay extra for a Glock mag adapter.

    one thing i can say this has over the Ruger PC Carbine in comparison is the way Henry designed this carbine it looks like they have enough space with the action that they could make a 45acp or 10mm version of this later down the road.
    Where Ruger PC Carbine only has a 9mm & 40S&W version, I think it would be worth it to Henry to make a 45acp & 10mm version of the Homesteader to offer two options that Ruger doesn’t. Could be a big selling point over Ruger’s take-down feature.

    Wish people made guns like this in magnum calibers.

    • @stevennewman4778
      @stevennewman4778 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3 reasons: Most magnum pistol calibers are rimmed. While not impossible to make a PCC in .357 for example, it’s more of a challenge. The bigger challenge would be getting the blow back to cycle correctly with a magnum round while keeping weight down. The Ruger PCC bolt is quite large and that’s just for 9mm. And lastly, magnum pistol rounds aren’t usually inexpensive. What’s the point of a carbine in .357, .44, etc that costs more to shoot than an AK in x39 for example but with worse ballistics?

    • @heiner71
      @heiner71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevennewman4778 People always want what is not offered. If Henry would offer this in 10mm or 44 Magnum, people would for sure complain and state that they'd buy it if it only would come in 500S&W Mag or 50BMG or whatever else more powerful and manly is out there.

    Maybe it's me being picky about symmetry but I wish they would have designed it to eject from the top (like a VZ.61) and have an ambi symmetrical charging handle (like a Thompson).
    Also as another commenter said a 10MM one that'll reliably shoot .40 S&W would be a much more practical "Homesteader" PCC.
