    If they ever give a television series the 4K treatment, Miami Vice should be the first one to go 4K

    Miami Vice the greatest show of all time. Don Johnson and PMT were born to play Crockett and Tubbs and together they made TV history. Michael Mann should have cast them in the 2006 movie. Maybe it would have been a hit. I like Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx but they're no Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas ♥️😎

      Or Michael Mann should have named his movie differently because without DJ and PMT there can't be Miami Vice

    • @lindacollins903

      @@vinced5741 Exactly! They were both 57 in 2006. Maybe Michael Mann thought they still wouldn't be believable in the roles?

      True Dat, the Miami Vice movie had a colour palette, look and feel that was more akin to Heat than the show it was based on (despite reusing elements of episodes like Smugglers Blue). Ain't nobody does Crockett & Tubbs better the DJ & PMT they are the OG.

    Many think the 4 episodes of Crockett snapping and being a villain with DID and amnesia was jumping the shark, but I think in this context and with the character development throughout the show it makes perfect sense. The Ed O'Neil episode and "where the busses don't run" practically foreshadow it.

    • @4L3XW4ND3R
      @4L3XW4ND3R ปีที่แล้ว +10

      So does Season 1's "Evan." And then the callbacks in the S4 clip show episode "A Bullet for Crockett" right before Crockett goes Burnett. Small moments in season 2 like the endings of "Definitely Miami" and "Little Miss Dangerous" really do a number on the detectives' morale. Crockett gets noticably more ruthless in season 4 with "Death and the Lady." The Valerie and Calderone storylines seemed to deeply trouble Tubbs. A lot of foreshadowing for Crockett and Tubbs' mental health issues throughout the series. You get a clear sense of their mounting burnout long before they quit the force in the series finale.

    • @lindacollins903
      @lindacollins903 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree! I think they could have made a whole season about Sonny as Burnett and Tubbs trying to get him back

    I started watching Miami Vice this month - Crocket and Tubbs are just awesome! I was watching it on Tubi, but it left Tubi right when I was in the middle of an episode. So I found it on Freevee, but it left Freevee the next day and now I'm halfway through the season 1 finale. Now it isn't available anywhere that I can watch it. I hope it comes back to streaming soon. I have Netflix and Prime, so I'll be keeping an eye out for it. I want to show it to my brothers too.

    Before the series begins Crockett is married to Caroline, with whom he had his son, William "Billy". Years of the Vice lifestyle (including a hit-man nearly killing all of them) caused their marriage to end in a painful divorce. Crockett began an on-again, off-again relationship with fellow Vice cop Gina Calabrese, usually when one or both needed comfort or someone to talk to. His other relationships were with a high-profile architect named Brenda, which caused him to sway from his duties, resulting in Tubbs being beaten up by a suspect. Then he moved on to Margaret, a New York woman who turned out to be working for someone trying to kill him, followed by Sara Davis, a flight stewardess who kept him company on her return flights to Miami (and died after one of the cocaine balloons in her GI tract came open); Dr. Theresa Lyons, who was a drug addict that he got help for in another state; Christine Von Marburg, who turned out to be a madam. He later met singer Caitlin Davies on assignment; after some friction they fell in love and married in a whirlwind romance, but she was killed over a year later by Frank Hackman. Upon hearing that Caitlin was pregnant, Crockett was driven to kill Hackman in cold blood. After Caitlin's death, Crockett had no further relationships aside from a brief affair with Kathleen Gilfords, but as his alter-ego, Sonny Burnett, he had flings with Miguel Manolo's art director Polly Wheeler, and Oscar Carrera's trophy wife Celeste. In his Crockett persona, he seems to prefer intelligent professional women, including those who are better educated than he is.
